1 Samuel 2
1 Hanna şöyle dua etti: “Yüreğim RAB'de bulduğum sevinçle coşuyor; Gücümü yükselten RAB'dir. Düşmanlarımın karşısında övünüyor, Kurtarışınla seviniyorum!
And Hannah prayed, and said, Mine heart reioyceth in the Lord, mine horne is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged ouer mine enemies, because I reioyce in thy saluation.
2 Kutsallıkta RAB'bin benzeri yok, Evet, senin gibisi yok, ya RAB! Tanrımız gibi dayanak yok.
There is none holy as the Lord: yea, there is none besides thee, and there is no god like our God.
3 Artık büyük konuşmayın, Ağzınızdan küstahça sözler çıkmasın. Çünkü RAB her şeyi bilen Tanrı'dır; O'dur davranışları tartan.
Speake no more presumptuously: let not arrogancie come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him enterprises are established.
4 Güçlülerin yayları kırılır; Güçsüzlerse güçle donatılır.
The bow and the mightie men are broken, and the weake haue girded themselues with strength.
5 Toklar yiyecek uğruna gündelikçi olur, Açlar doyurulur. Kısır kadın yedi çocuk doğururken, Çok çocuklu kadın kimsesiz kalır.
They that were full, are hired foorth for bread, and the hungrie are no more hired, so that the barren hath borne seuen: and shee that had many children, is feeble.
The Lord killeth and maketh aliue: bringeth downe to the graue and raiseth vp. (Sheol h7585)
7 O kimini yoksul, kimini varsıl kılar; Kimini alçaltır, kimini yükseltir.
The Lord maketh poore and maketh rich: bringeth lowe, and exalteth.
8 Düşkünü yerden kaldırır, Yoksulu çöplükten çıkarır; Soylularla oturtsun Ve kendilerine onur tahtını miras olarak bağışlasın diye. Çünkü yeryüzünün temelleri RAB'bindir, O dünyayı onların üzerine kurmuştur.
He raiseth vp ye poore out of the dust, and lifteth vp the begger from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherite the seate of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lordes, and he hath set the world vpon them.
9 RAB sadık kullarının adımlarını korur, Ama kötüler karanlıkta susturulur. Çünkü güçle zafere ulaşamaz insan.
Hee will keepe the feete of his Saintes, and the wicked shall keepe silence in darkenes: for in his owne might shall no man be strong.
10 RAB'be karşı gelenler paramparça olacak, RAB onlara karşı gökleri gürletecek, Bütün dünyayı yargılayacak, Kralını güçle donatacak, Meshettiği kralın gücünü yükseltecek.”
The Lordes aduersaries shall be destroyed, and out of heauen shall he thunder vpon them: the Lord shall iudge the endes of the worlde, and shall giue power vnto his King, and exalt the horne of his Anoynted.
11 Sonra Elkana Rama'ya, evine döndü. Küçük Samuel ise Kâhin Eli'nin gözetiminde RAB'bin hizmetinde kaldı.
And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house, and the childe did minister vnto the Lord before Eli the Priest.
12 Eli'nin oğulları değersiz kişilerdi. RAB'bi ve kâhinlerin halkla ilgili kurallarını önemsemiyorlardı. Biri sunduğu kurbanın etini haşlarken, kâhinin hizmetkârı elinde üç dişli büyük bir çatalla gelir,
Now the sonnes of Eli were wicked men, and knewe not the Lord.
For the Priestes custome towarde the people was this: when any man offered sacrifice, the Priestes boy came, while the flesh was seething, and a fleshhooke with three teeth, in his hand,
14 çatalı kap, tencere, tava ya da kazana daldırırdı. Çatalla çıkarılan her şey kâhin için ayırılırdı. Şilo'ya gelen İsrailliler'in hepsine böyle davranırlardı.
And thrust it into the kettle, or into the caldron, or into the panne, or into the potte: all that the fleshhooke brought vp, the Priest tooke for himselfe: thus they did vnto all the Israelites, that came thither to Shiloh.
15 Üstelik kurbanın yağları yakılmadan önce, kâhinin hizmetkârı gelip kurban sunan adama, “Kâhine kızartmalık et ver. Senden haşlanmış et değil, çiğ et alacak” derdi.
Yea, before they burnt the fat, the priests boy came and saide to the man that offered, Giue me flesh to rost for the priest: for he wil not haue sodden flesh of thee, but rawe.
16 Kurban sunan, “Önce hayvanın yağları yakılmalı, sonra dilediğin kadar al” diyecek olsa, hizmetkâr, “Hayır, şimdi vereceksin, yoksa zorla alırım” diye karşılık verirdi.
And if any man saide vnto him, Let them burne the fatte according to the custome, then take as much as thine heart desireth: then hee would answere, No, but thou shalt giue it nowe: and if thou wilt not, I will take it by force.
17 Gençlerin RAB'be karşı işledikleri günah çok büyüktü; çünkü RAB'be sunulan sunuları küçümsüyorlardı.
Therefore the sinne of the yong men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.
18 Bu arada genç Samuel, keten efod giymiş, RAB'bin önünde hizmet ediyordu.
Now Samuel being a yong childe ministred before the Lord, girded with a linen Ephod.
19 Yıllık kurbanı sunmak için annesi her yıl kocasıyla birlikte oraya gider, diktiği cüppeyi oğluna getirirdi.
And his mother made him a litle coat, and brought it to him from yeere to yeere, when she came vp with her husband, to offer the yerely sacrifice.
20 Kâhin Eli de, Elkana ile karısına iyi dilekte bulunarak, “Dilediği ve RAB'be adadığı çocuğun yerine RAB sana bu kadından başka çocuklar versin” derdi. Bundan sonra evlerine dönerlerdi.
And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord giue thee seede of this woman, for the petition that she asked of the Lord: and they departed vnto their place.
21 RAB'bin lütfuna eren Hanna gebe kalıp üç erkek, iki kız daha doğurdu. Küçük Samuel ise RAB'bin hizmetinde büyüdü.
And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceiued, and bare three sonnes, and two daughters. And the childe Samuel grewe before the Lord.
22 Eli artık çok yaşlanmıştı. Oğullarının İsrailliler'e bütün yaptıklarını, Buluşma Çadırı'nın girişinde görevli kadınlarla düşüp kalktıklarını duymuştu.
So Eli was very olde, and heard all that his sonnes did vnto all Israel, and howe they laye with the women that assembled at the doore of the tabernacle of the Congregation.
23 Onlara, “Neden böyle şeyler yapıyorsunuz?” dedi, “Yaptığınız kötülükleri herkesten işitiyorum.
And hee saide vnto them, Why doe ye such things? for of all this people I heare euill reportes of you.
24 Olmaz bu, oğullarım! RAB'bin halkı arasında yayıldığını duyduğum haber iyi değil.
Do no more, my sonnes, for it is no good report that I heare, which is, that ye make the Lords people to trespasse.
25 İnsan insana karşı günah işlerse, Tanrı onun için aracılık eder. Ama RAB'be karşı günah işleyeni kim savunacak?” Ne var ki, onlar babalarının sözünü dinlemediler. Çünkü RAB onları öldürmek istiyordu.
If one man sinne against another, the Iudge shall iudge it: but if a man sinne against the Lord, who will pleade for him? Notwithstanding they obeyed not the voyce of their father, because the Lord would slay them.
26 Bu arada giderek büyüyen genç Samuel RAB'bin de halkın da beğenisini kazanmaktaydı.
(Nowe the childe Samuel profited and grewe, and was in fauour both with the Lord and also with men)
27 O sıralarda bir Tanrı adamı Eli'ye gelip şöyle dedi: “RAB diyor ki, ‘Atan ve soyu Mısır'da firavunun halkına kölelik ederken kendimi onlara açıkça göstermedim mi?
And there came a man of God vnto Eli, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did not I plainely appeare vnto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaohs house?
28 Sunağıma çıkması, buhur yakıp önümde efod giymesi için bütün İsrail oymakları arasından yalnız atanı kendime kâhin seçtim. Üstelik İsrailliler'in yakılan bütün sunularını da atanın soyuna verdim.
And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my Priest, to offer vpon mine altar, and to burne incense, and to weare an Ephod before me, and I gaue vnto the house of thy father all the offrings made by fire of the children of Israel.
29 Öyleyse neden konutum için buyurduğum kurbanı ve sunuyu küçümsüyorsunuz? Halkım İsrail'in sunduğu bütün sunuların en iyi kısımlarıyla kendinizi semirterek neden oğullarını benden daha çok önemsiyorsun?’
Wherefore haue you kicked against my sacrifice and mine offering, which I commanded in my Tabernacle, and honourest thy children aboue mee, to make your selues fatte of the first fruites of all the offerings of Israel my people?
30 “Bu nedenle İsrail'in Tanrısı RAB şöyle diyor: ‘Gerçekten, ailen ve atanın soyu sonsuza dek bana hizmet edecekler demiştim.’ Ama şimdi RAB şöyle buyuruyor: ‘Bu benden uzak olsun! Beni onurlandıranı ben de onurlandırırım. Ama beni saymayan küçük düşürülecek.
Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I saide, that thine house and the house of thy father should walke before mee for euer: but nowe the Lord saith, It shall not be so: for them that honour me, I will honour, and they that despise me, shall be despised.
31 Soyundan hiç kimsenin yaşlanacak kadar yaşamaması için senin ve atanın soyunun gücünü kıracağım günler yaklaşıyor.
Beholde, the dayes come, that I will cut off thine arme, and the arme of thy fathers house, that there shall not be an olde man in thine house.
32 İsrail'e yapılacak bütün iyiliğe karşın, sen konutumda sıkıntı göreceksin. Artık soyundan hiç kimse yaşlanacak kadar yaşamayacak.
And thou shalt see thine enemie in the habitation of the Lord in all thinges wherewith God shall blesse Israel, and there shall not be an olde man in thine house for euer.
33 Sunağımdan bütün soyunu yok edeceğim, yalnız bir kişiyi esirgeyeceğim. Gözleri ağlamaktan kör olacak, yüreği yanacak. Ama soyundan gelenlerin hepsi kılıçla ölecekler.
Neuerthelesse, I will not destroy euery one of thine from mine altar, to make thine eyes to faile, and to make thine heart sorowfull: and all ye multitude of thine house shall die when they be men.
34 İki oğlun Hofni ile Pinehas'ın başına gelecek olay senin için bir belirti olacak: İkisi de aynı gün ölecek.
And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, that shall come vpon thy two sonnes Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both.
35 İsteklerimi ve amaçlarımı yerine getirecek güvenilir bir kâhin çıkaracağım kendime. Onun soyunu sürdüreceğim; o da meshettiğim kişinin önünde sürekli hizmet edecek.
And I will stirre me vp a faithfull Priest, that shall do according to mine heart and according to my minde: and I wil build him a sure house, and he shall walke before mine Anointed for euer.
36 Ailenden sağ kalan herkes bir parça gümüş ve bir somun ekmek için gelip ona boyun eğecek ve, Ne olur, karın tokluğuna beni herhangi bir kâhinlik görevine ata! diye yalvaracak.’”
And all that are left in thine house, shall come and bowe downe to him for a piece of siluer and a morsell of bread, and shall say, Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestes offices, that I may eate a morsell of bread.
