1 Mesih bedence acı çektiğine göre, siz de aynı düşünceyle silahlanın. Çünkü bedence acı çekmiş olan, günaha sırt çevirmiştir.
Therefore, since Christ has suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same mentality, because whoever has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,
2 Sonuç olarak, dünyadaki yaşamının geri kalan bölümünü artık insan tutkularına göre değil, Tanrı'nın isteğine göre sürdürür.
so as to live his remaining time in the flesh no longer for the evil desires of men, but for the will of God.
3 İnanmayanların hoşlandıklarını yaparak sefahat, şehvet, sarhoşluk, çılgın eğlenceler, içki alemleri ve ilke tanımayan putperestlik içinde yaşayarak geçmişte harcadığınız günler yeter!
For we have spent enough of our lives doing what the Gentiles like to do, walking in sensual indulgences, evil desires, excesses of wine, revelries, drinking bouts, and illicit idolatries.
4 İnanmayanlar, kendinizi onlarla birlikte aynı sefahat seline atmamanızı yadırgıyor, size sövüyorlar.
They are surprised when you do not run with them into the same flood of debauchery, so they revile you.
5 Onlar, ölüleri de dirileri de yargılamaya hazır olan Tanrı'ya hesap verecekler.
But they will give an account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6 Çünkü ölüler bedence öbür insanlar gibi yargılansın, ama ruhça Tanrı gibi yaşasın diye Müjde onlara da bildirildi.
For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to the dead, so that, though they have been judged in the flesh as men are, they might live in the spirit as God does.
7 Her şeyin sonu yakındır. Bu nedenle, sağduyulu olun ve dua etmek için ayık durun.
The end of all things has drawn near. Therefore be alert and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.

Above all, maintain a deep love for one another, because love will cover a multitude of sins.
9 Söylenmeksizin birbirinize konukseverlik gösterin.
Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
10 Her biriniz hangi ruhsal armağanı aldıysanız, bunu Tanrı'nın çok yönlü lütfunun iyi kâhyaları olarak birbirinize hizmet etmekte kullanın.
As each of you has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
11 Konuşan, Tanrı'nın sözlerini iletir gibi konuşsun. Başkalarına hizmet eden, Tanrı'nın verdiği güçle hizmet etsin. Öyle ki, İsa Mesih aracılığıyla Tanrı her şeyde yüceltilsin. Yücelik ve kudret sonsuzlara dek Mesih'indir! Amin. (aiōn g165)
If anyone speaks, he should do so as one who speaks the oracles of God; if anyone serves, he should do so as one who serves from strength as God supplies it, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 Sevgili kardeşlerim, sınanmanız için size giydirilen ateşten gömleği, size garip bir şey oluyormuş gibi yadırgamayın.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial that has come upon you to test you, as though a strange thing were happening to you.
13 Tersine, Mesih'in acılarına ortak olduğunuz oranda sevinin ki, Mesih'in görkemi göründüğünde de sevinçle coşasınız.
But insofar as you share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, so that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
14 Mesih'in adından ötürü hakarete uğrarsanız, ne mutlu size! Çünkü Tanrı'nın yüce Ruhu üzerinizde bulunuyor.
If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.
15 Hiçbiriniz katil, hırsız, kötülük yapan ya da başkalarının işine karışan biri olarak acı çekmesin.
None of you should suffer as a murderer, thief, evildoer, or meddler,
16 Ama Mesih inanlısı olduğu için acı çeken, bundan utanç duymasın. Taşıdığı bu adla Tanrı'yı yüceltsin.
but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he should not be ashamed, but should glorify God in this matter.
17 Çünkü yargının, Tanrı'nın ev halkından başlayacağı an gelmiştir. Eğer yargılama önce bizden başlarsa, Tanrı'nın Müjdesi'ne kulak asmayanların sonu ne olacak?
For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God, and if it begins first with us, what will be the outcome for those who are disobedient to the gospel of God?
18 “Doğru kişi güçlükle kurtuluyorsa, Tanrısız ve günahlı kişiye ne olacak?”
And, “If the righteous man is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly man and sinner?”
19 Bunun için, Tanrı'nın isteği uyarınca acı çekenler, iyilik ederek canlarını güvenilir Yaradan'a emanet etsinler.
Therefore, those who suffer according to the will of God should entrust their souls to him as their faithful Creator while doing what is good.
