1 Korintliler 1
1 Tanrı'nın isteğiyle Mesih İsa'nın elçisi olmaya çağrılan ben Pavlus ve kardeşimiz Sostenis'ten Tanrı'nın Korint'teki kilisesine selam! Mesih İsa'da kutsal kılınmış, kutsal olmaya çağrılmış olan sizlere ve hepimizin Rabbi İsa Mesih'in adını her yerde anan herkese Babamız Tanrı'dan ve Rab İsa Mesih'ten lütuf ve esenlik olsun.
Paul, a called apostle of Christ Jesus, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,
to the church of God which is at Corinth, the sanctified in Christ Jesus, called, holy, with all that in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours;
grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Tanrı'nın Mesih İsa'da size bağışladığı lütuftan ötürü sizin için her zaman Tanrım'a şükrediyorum.
I ever thank my God for you, on account of the grace of God bestowed upon you in Christ Jesus;
5 Mesih'le ilgili tanıklığımız sizde pekiştiği gibi Mesih'te her bakımdan –her tür söz ve bilgi bakımından– zenginleştiniz.
that in him ye were enriched in everything, in all utterance, and all knowledge,
as the testimony of Christ was established among you;
7 Şöyle ki, Rabbimiz İsa Mesih'in görünmesini beklerken hiçbir ruhsal armağandan yoksun değilsiniz.
so that ye come behind in no gift, while waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ;
8 Rabbimiz İsa Mesih kendi gününde kusursuz olmanız için sizi sonuna dek pekiştirecektir.
who will also make you steadfast to the end, so that ye may be without blame in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 Sizleri Oğlu Rabbimiz İsa Mesih'le paydaşlığa çağıran Tanrı güvenilirdir.
God is faithful, by whom ye were called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
10 Kardeşler, Rabbimiz İsa Mesih'in adıyla yalvarıyorum: Hepiniz uyum içinde olun, aranızda bölünmeler olmadan aynı düşünce ve görüşte birleşin.
But I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11 Kardeşlerim, Kloi'nin ev halkından aranızda çekişmeler olduğunu öğrendim.
For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by those of the family of Chloe, that there are dissensions among you.
12 Şunu demek istiyorum: Her biriniz, “Ben Pavlus yanlısıyım”, “Ben Apollos yanlısıyım”, “Ben Kefas yanlısıyım” ya da “Ben Mesih yanlısıyım” diyormuş.
What I mean is this, that each of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
13 Mesih bölündü mü? Sizin için çarmıha gerilen Pavlus muydu? Pavlus'un adıyla mı vaftiz edildiniz?
Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were ye baptized the name of Paul?
14 Hiç kimse benim adımla vaftiz edildiğinizi söylemesin diye Krispus'la Gayus'tan başka hiçbirinizi vaftiz etmediğim için Tanrı'ya şükrediyorum.
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
that no one may say that ye were baptized into my name.
16 Evet, bir de İstefanas'ın ev halkını vaftiz ettim; bunun dışında kimseyi vaftiz ettiğimi anımsamıyorum.
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas; I am not aware that I baptized any one besides.
17 Çünkü Mesih beni vaftiz etmeye değil, Mesih'in çarmıhtaki ölümü boşa gitmesin diye, bilgece sözlere dayanmaksızın Müjde'yi yaymaya gönderdi.
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel; not with wisdom of speech, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
18 Çarmıhla ilgili bildiri mahva gidenler için saçmalık, biz kurtulmakta olanlar içinse Tanrı gücüdür.
For the preaching of the cross is to those who are perishing, foolishness, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.
19 Nitekim şöyle yazılmıştır: “Bilgelerin bilgeliğini yok edeceğim, Akıllıların aklını boşa çıkaracağım.”
For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nought the discernment of the discerning.”
20 Hani nerede bilge kişi? Din bilgini nerede? Nerede bu çağın hünerli tartışmacısı? Tanrı dünya bilgeliğinin saçma olduğunu göstermedi mi? (aiōn g165)
Where is the wise man? Where the scribe? Where the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? (aiōn g165)
21 Mademki dünya Tanrı'nın bilgeliği uyarınca Tanrı'yı kendi bilgeliğiyle tanımadı, Tanrı iman edenleri saçma sayılan bildiriyle kurtarmaya razı oldu.
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by its wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those who believe;
22 Yahudiler doğaüstü belirtiler ister, Grekler'se bilgelik arar.
since even Jews ask for signs, and the Greeks seek for wisdom;
23 Ama biz çarmıha gerilmiş Mesih'i duyuruyoruz. Yahudiler bunu yüzkarası, öteki uluslar da saçmalık sayarlar.
but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling-block, and to gentiles foolishness,
24 Oysa Mesih, çağrılmış olanlar için –ister Yahudi ister Grek olsun– Tanrı'nın gücü ve Tanrı'nın bilgeliğidir.
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Çünkü Tanrı'nın “saçmalığı” insan bilgeliğinden daha üstün, Tanrı'nın “zayıflığı” insan gücünden daha güçlüdür.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 Kardeşlerim, aldığınız çağrıyı düşünün. Birçoğunuz insan ölçülerine göre bilge, güçlü ya da soylu kişiler değildiniz.
For consider, brethren, who ye are that have been called; not many wise men after the fashion of the world, not many mighty, not many noble;
27 Ne var ki, Tanrı bilgeleri utandırmak için dünyanın saçma saydıklarını, güçlüleri utandırmak için de dünyanın zayıf saydıklarını seçti.
but the foolish things of the world did God choose, to put to shame the wise; and the weak things of the world did God choose, to put to shame the things which are strong;
28 Dünyanın önemli gördüklerini hiçe indirmek için dünyanın önemsiz, soysuz, değersiz gördüklerini seçti.
and the mean things of the world, and the things which are despised, did God choose, the things which are not, to bring to nought things that are;
29 Öyle ki, Tanrı'nın önünde hiç kimse övünemesin.
that no flesh might glory before God.
30 Ama siz Tanrı sayesinde Mesih İsa'dasınız. O bizim için tanrısal bilgelik, doğruluk, kutsallık ve kurtuluş oldu.
But from him it is that ye are in Christ Jesus, who from God was made to us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption;
31 Bunun için yazılmış olduğu gibi, “Övünen, Rab'le övünsün.”
that, according as it is written, “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.”
