Yuhanna 16
1 Bunları size tökezleyip düşmeyesiniz diye söyledim.
These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be ensnared.
2 Sizi toplantı yerlerinden kovacaklar. Hatta öyle bir zaman geliyor ki, sizi öldüren herkes Allahʼa hizmet ettiğini sanacak.
They will put you out of the synagogues; indeed, the time is coming, when he that kills you, will think that he is offering service to God.
3 Bunları, Babaʼyı ve beni tanımadıkları için yapacaklar
And these things they will do, because they know neither the Father nor me.
4 Zamanı geldiğinde bu sözleri söylediğimi hatırlayasınız diye bunları size şimdiden bildiriyorum. Başlangıçta bunları size söylemedim, çünkü sizinle birlikteydim.
But these things I have told you, that, when the time has come, you may remember that I told you of them. But these things I did not tell you at the beginning, because I was with you.
5 Şimdiyse beni Gönderenʼe gidiyorum. Fakat hiçbiriniz bana ‘Nereye gidiyorsun?’ diye sormuyor.
And now I go to him that sent me, and no one of you asks me, Whither goest thou?
6 Ama size bunları bildirdiğim için yüreğiniz üzüntüyle doldu.
But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Size doğrusunu söylüyorum, benim gitmem sizin iyiliğiniz için. Çünkü gitmezsem, Yardımcı size gelmeyecek. Ama gidersem, Oʼnu size göndereceğim.
But yet I tell you the truth: it is profitable for you that I go away. For if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you.
8 Yardımcı gelince, dünyayı günah, doğruluk ve yargı hakkında ikna edecek:
And when he has come, he will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
9 Günah hakkında, çünkü bana iman etmiyorlar;
Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 doğruluk hakkında, çünkü ben Babamʼa gidiyorum ve artık beni görmeyeceksiniz;
of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more;
11 yargı hakkında, çünkü bu dünyanın lideri artık yargılanmış bulunuyor.
of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 Size söyleyecek daha çok şeyim var, ama şimdi bunları dinlemeye dayanamazsınız.
I have yet many things to say to you; but you can not bear them now.
13 Ne var ki, Gerçeğin Ruhu gelince, O sizi tüm gerçeğe yöneltecek. Çünkü kendiliğinden konuşmayacak: ne işitirse, onu söyleyecek. Hem de gelecekte olacakları size bildirecek.
But when he, the Spirit of the truth, has come, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak of himself; but what he hears, that will he speak, and he will show you things to come.
14 O beni yüceltecek. Çünkü benden aldıklarını size bildirecek.
He will glorify me; for he will take of mine, and show it to you.
15 Babamʼın olan her şey benimdir. Bunun için dedim ki, ‘Benden aldıklarını size bildirecek.’
All things that the Father has are mine; for this reason I said, that he will take of mine, and show it to you.
16 Kısa bir zaman sonra artık beni görmeyeceksiniz. Yine kısa bir zaman sonra beni göreceksiniz.”
A little while, and you will not see me; and again, a little while, and you will see me, because I go to the Father.
17 Bunun üzerine öğrencilerinden bazıları, “Ne demek istiyor?” diye birbirlerine sordular. “‘Kısa bir zaman sonra beni görmeyeceksiniz; yine kısa bir zaman sonra beni göreceksiniz’ diyor. Ayrıca, ‘Çünkü Babaʼya gidiyorum’ diyor.”
Then some of his disciples said one to another: What is this that he says to us, A little while, and you will not see me; and again, a little while, and you will see me? and, Be cause I go to the Father?
18 Böylece, “Bu ‘kısa zaman’ dediği nedir? Söylediğini anlamıyoruz!” deyip durdular.
Therefore they said: What is this that he says, The little while? We know not what he says.
19 İsa, öğrencilerinin kendisine soru sormak istediğini anladı. Onlara dedi ki, “‘Kısa bir zaman sonra beni görmeyeceksiniz. Yine kısa bir zaman sonra beni göreceksiniz’ dediğimi mi tartışıyorsunuz?
Then Jesus knew that they wished to ask him; and he said to them: Are you inquiring of one another about this, because I said, A little while and you will not see me; and again, a little while, and you will see me?
20 Size doğrusunu söylüyorum, siz ağlayacaksınız ve yas tutacaksınız, ama dünya sevinecek. Siz üzüleceksiniz, ama üzüntünüz sevince dönecek.
Verily, verily I say to you, you shall weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
21 Kadın çocuk doğuracağı zaman sancılanır, çünkü doğum yapma zamanı gelmiştir. Ama çocuğu doğurduktan sonra, artık sancıyı hatırlamaz, çünkü dünyaya bir çocuk geldi diye sevinir.
A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow, be cause her hour has come; but when the child is born, she no longer remembers the pain, for joy that a man is born into the world.
22 Evet, siz de şimdi üzülüyorsunuz. Ama sizinle yine görüşeceğim. O zaman yüreğiniz sevinecek, kimse de o sevinci sizden alamayacak.
You, therefore, have sorrow now; but I shall see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one takes from you.
23 O gün bana bir şey sormayacaksınız. Size doğrusunu söylüyorum, Babaʼdan benim adımla ne dilerseniz, O size verecek.
And in that day you shall ask nothing of me; verily, verily I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give you.
24 Şimdiye kadar benim adımla bir şey dilemediniz. Dileyin, alacaksınız. Öyle ki, sevinciniz tam olsun.
Till this time you have asked for nothing in my name; ask, and you shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 Bunları size bir benzetme gibi anlattım. Ama zaman gelecek ki, sizinle konuşurken artık benzetmeler kullanmayacağım. O zaman Babaʼyı size açıkça anlatacağım.
These things I have spoken to you in parables; the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in parables, but will teach you plainly concerning the Father.
26 O gün ne dilerseniz benim adımla dileyeceksiniz. Sizin için Babaʼdan istekte bulunacağımı söylemiyorum.
In that day you shall ask in my name; and I say not to you, that I will ask the Father in your behalf;
27 Doğrusu Babaʼnın kendisi sizi seviyor. Çünkü siz beni sevdiniz ve Allahʼtan çıkıp geldiğime inandınız.
for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and have believed that I came forth from God.
28 Ben Babaʼdan çıkıp dünyaya geldim. Şimdiyse dünyayı bırakıp tekrar Babaʼya dönüyorum.”
I came forth from the Father, and have come into the world: again I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 Öğrencileri Oʼna şöyle dedi: “Bak, şimdi açıkça konuşuyorsun, kapalı söz kullanmıyorsun.
His disciples said to him: Lo, now thou speakest plainly, and speakest no parable.
30 Şimdi anladık ki, her şeyi biliyorsun ve kimsenin sana soru sormasına ihtiyacın yok. Artık senin Allahʼtan geldiğine inanıyoruz.”
Now we know that thou knowest all things, and hast no need that any one should ask thee. By this we believe that thou hast come forth from God.
31 İsa onlara cevap olarak şöyle dedi: “Şimdi mi iman ediyorsunuz?
Jesus answered them: Do you now believe?
32 Bakın, öyle bir saat geliyor, ve geldi bile, hepiniz dağılıp evlerinize döneceksiniz ve beni yalnız bırakacaksınız. Fakat ben yalnız değilim, çünkü Baba benimledir.
Behold, the hour is coming, and has now come, in which you shall be scattered, each one to his own home, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.
33 Bunları size, benim sayemde esenlik bulasınız diye söyledim. Bu dünyada sıkıntı çekersiniz, ama cesur olun! Ben dünyayı yendim.”
These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have affliction, but be of good courage; I have overcome the world.
