1 ʻE ʻofefine ʻoe tuʻi! Hono ʻikai fakaʻofoʻofa ho vaʻe mo ho topuvaʻe: ʻoku teuʻi lahi ho kofu vaʻe, ko e ngāue ʻae nima ʻoe tufunga poto.
Douytir of the prince, thi goyngis ben ful faire in schoon; the ioyncturis of thi heppis ben as brochis, that ben maad bi the hond of a crafti man.
2 Ko e fakamaʻu ʻo ho noʻotanga kofu ʻoku hangē ha ipu, ʻoku ʻikai masiva uaine: pea ʻoku tatau ho sino mo e u uite, kuo nonoʻo ʻaki ʻae ngaahi lile.
Thi nawle is as a round cuppe, and wel formed, that hath neuere nede to drynkis; thi wombe is as an heep of whete, biset aboute with lilies.
3 ʻOku tatau ho ongo huhu mo e ongo kāseli, mui ʻoku na tatau.
Thi twei teetis ben as twei kidis, twynnes of a capret.
4 ʻOku tatau ho kia mo ha fale lei ʻoku māʻolunga: pea tatau ho mata mo e anovai ika ʻi Hesiponi, ʻi he veʻe matapā ʻo Patalapini: ʻoku tatau ho ihu mo e fale leʻo ʻi Lepanoni ʻoku hanga ki Tamasikusi.
Thi necke is as a tour of yuer; thin iyen ben as cisternes in Esebon, that ben in the yate of the douyter of multitude; thi nose is as the tour of Liban, that biholdith ayens Damask.
5 ʻOku tatau ho ʻulu mo Kameli, mo e louʻulu ʻo ho ʻulu ʻoku hangē ko e kulokula; kuo moʻua ʻae tuʻi ʻi he ngaahi potu ʻi fale.
Thin heed is as Carmele; and the heeres of thin heed ben as the kyngis purpur, ioyned to trowyis.
6 Oiau, hono ʻikai hoihoifua mo fakaʻofoʻofa koe, ʻa koe ko hoku ʻofaʻanga koeʻuhi ke u fiemālie ai!
Dereworthe spousesse, thou art ful fair, and ful schappli in delices.
7 ʻOku tatau ho māʻolunga mo e ʻakau ko e paame, pea hangē ho ongo huhu ko e ngaahi fuhi vaine.
Thi stature is licned to a palm tree, and thi tetis to clustris of grapis.
8 Naʻaku pehē, “Te u kaka ʻi he ʻakau ko e paame, pea u puke ki hono ngaahi vaʻa:” pea ko eni foki, ʻoku tatau ho huhu mo e ngaahi fuhi vaine, mo e ngangatu ʻo ho mānava ʻo hangē ko e moli;
I seide, Y schal stie in to a palm tree, and Y schal take the fruytis therof. And thi tetis schulen be as the clustris of grapis of a vyner; and the odour of thi mouth as the odour of pumgranatis;
9 ʻOku tatau ʻae ngaahi lea mei ho ngutu mo e uaine lelei ʻoku huʻamelie: he naʻa mo kinautolu ʻoku mohe ʻoku fakalea ai.
thi throte schal be as beste wyn. Worthi to my derlyng for to drynke, and to hise lippis and teeth to chewe.
10 ʻOku ʻo hoku ʻofaʻanga au, pea ʻoku ne holi pe kiate au.
Y schal cleue by loue to my derlyng, and his turnyng schal be to me.
11 Haʻu, ʻā hoku ʻofaʻanga, ke ta ō atu ki he ngoue; ke ta nofo ʻi he ngaahi potu kakai.
Come thou, my derlyng, go we out in to the feeld; dwelle we togidere in townes.
12 Ke ta ō hengihengi ki he ngaahi ngoue vaine; ke ta mamata ki he vaine ʻi heʻene tupu lelei, mo e tupu ʻo hono fua mui, pea mo e fatakau ʻoe pomikanite: pea te u foaki ʻi ai ʻa ʻeku ʻofa kiate koe.
Ryse we eerli to the vyner; se we, if the vyner hath flourid, if the flouris bryngen forth fruytis, if pumgranatis han flourid; there I schal yyue to thee my tetis.
13 ʻOku nanamu ʻae tutai, pea ʻoku ai ʻae ngaahi fua lelei ʻi hota veʻe matapā, kuo u tānaki koeʻuhi ko koe, ʻE hoku ʻofaʻanga.
Mandrogoris han youe her odour in oure yatis; my derlyng, Y haue kept to thee alle applis, new and elde.
