< Fakahā 8 >
1 Pea kuo vete ʻe ia ʻa hono fitu ʻoe meʻa fakamaʻu, naʻe ai ʻae fakalongo pē ʻi he langi ʻi he vaeua mālieʻanga ʻoe feituʻulaʻā ʻe taha.
And when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about half an hour.
2 Pea ne u mamata ki he ʻāngelo ʻe toko fitu naʻe tutuʻu ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua; pea naʻe ʻatu kiate kinautolu ʻae meʻa lea ʻe fitu.
And I saw the seven angels who stood before God; and seven trumpets were given unto them.
3 Pea naʻe haʻu ʻae ʻāngelo ʻe taha, ʻo tuʻu ʻi he ʻesifeilaulau, kuo ʻiate ia ʻae ʻaiʻanga afi koula; pea naʻe ʻatu ʻo lahi ʻae ʻakau namu kakala kiate ia, koeʻuhi ke ne ʻatu ia fakataha mo e ngaahi lotu ʻoe kakai māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē, ʻi he ʻesifeilaulau koula, ʻaia naʻe tuʻu ʻi he muʻa nofoʻa fakaʻeiʻeiki.
And another angel came and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, that he shall offer with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which is before the throne.
4 Pea naʻe ʻalu hake ki he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua mei he nima ʻoe ʻāngelo ʻae kohu ʻoe ʻakau namu kakala, pea mo e ngaahi lotu ʻoe kakai māʻoniʻoni.
And the smoke of the incense went up out of the hand of the angel, with the prayers of the saints, before God.
5 Pea naʻe ʻave ʻe he ʻāngelo ʻae ʻaiʻanga afi, pea ne fakapito ia ʻaki ʻae afi mei he ʻesifeilaulau, ʻo ne lī ia ki he fonua: pea naʻe ai ʻae ngaahi leʻo, mo e mana, mo e ʻuhila, mo e mofuike.
And the angel took the censer, and filled it with the fire of the altar, and cast it to the earth: and there were thunders, and voices, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
6 Pea ko e ʻāngelo ʻe toko fitu naʻe ʻi ai ʻae meʻa lea ʻe fitu, naʻa nau teuteu ke ifi.
And the seven angels, those having the seven trumpets, prepared themselves that they should sound.
7 Naʻe ifi ʻe he ʻuluaki ʻāngelo, pea naʻe hoko ai ʻae ʻuha maka mo e afi ʻoku afu ʻaki ʻae toto, pea naʻe lī ia ki he fonua: pea naʻe vela ʻo ʻosi ʻa hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi ʻakau, pea naʻe vela ʻo ʻosi ʻae mohuku mata kotoa pē.
And the first sounded, and there were hail and fire mingled with blood, and cast to the earth: and the third of the earth was burnt up, and the third of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
8 Pea ifi ʻe hono ua ʻoe ʻāngelo, pea hangē naʻe lī ai ki tahi ha fuʻu moʻunga ʻoku vela ʻi he afi: pea naʻe liliu ʻo toto ʻa hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe tahi;
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 Pea ko hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi meʻa naʻe moʻui ʻi he tahi, naʻe mate ia; pea naʻe maumau hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi vaka.
and the third of the creatures which were in the sea, those having life, died; and the third part of the ships was destroyed.
10 Pea ifi ʻe hono tolu ʻoe ʻāngelo, pea naʻe tō hifo ʻae fetuʻu lahi mei he langi, ʻoku ulo ʻo hangē ha tūhulu, pea naʻe tō ia ki hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi vaitafe, pea ki he ngaahi matavai;
And the third angel sounded; and a great star, burning like a lamp, fell from the heaven, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of the waters.
11 Pea ko e hingoa ʻoe fetuʻu naʻe ui ko “Konaʻiʻī:” pea naʻe fakakona ai hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi vai; pea naʻe mate ʻae kakai tokolahi ʻi he ngaahi vai, koeʻuhi naʻe fakakona ia.
And the name of the star is called Apsinth. And the third part of the waters became apsinth; and many of the men died from the waters, because they were bitter.
12 Pea naʻe ifi ʻe hono fā ʻoe ʻāngelo, pea tā hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe laʻā, mo hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe māhina, mo hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe ngaahi fetuʻu; ko ia ne fakapoʻuli ai hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻokinautolu, pea naʻe ʻikai maama ʻae ʻaho ʻi hono tolu ʻo hono vahe, pea naʻe pehē pe mo e pō foki.
And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars, were smitten; and the third part of them was darkened, and the day did not shine the third part of it, and likewise the night.
13 Pea ne u vakai, peau ongoʻi ʻoku puna ʻae ʻāngelo ʻe taha ʻi he loto langi, ʻo ne pehē ʻaki ʻae leʻo lahi, “Malaʻia, malaʻia, malaʻia, ki he kakai ʻoku nofo ʻi he maama, koeʻuhi ʻi hono toe ʻoe leʻo ʻoe meʻa lea ʻoe ʻāngelo ʻe toko tolu, ʻoku teʻeki ai ifi!”
And I saw, and I heard one eagle flying in the midst of heaven, saying with a great voice; Woe, woe, woe, to those dwelling upon the earth, on account of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, who are about to sound.
