< Fakahā 3 >
1 “Pea tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻoe siasi ʻi Satisi; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe ia ʻoku ʻiate ia ʻae Laumālie ʻe Fitu ʻoe ʻOtua, pea mo e fetuʻu ʻe fitu; “ʻOku ou ʻiloʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue, he ʻoku ke maʻu ʻae hingoa ʻoku ke moʻui, ka ʻoku ke mate.
And, unto the messenger of the assembly, in Sardis, write: —These things, saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars: I know thy works, —that, a name, thou hast, that thou art living, and art, dead.
2 Ke ke faʻa leʻo, ʻo fakamālohi ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻoku toe, ʻaia ʻoku fakatau ke mate; he ʻoku ʻikai te u ʻilo kuo fai ke haohaoa hoʻo ngāue, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua.
Become thou watchful, and strengthen the things that remain, that were about to die; for I have not found thy works fulfilled before my God.
3 Ko ia ke ke manatuʻi pe naʻe fēfeeʻi ʻae anga ʻo hoʻo maʻu mo hoʻo fanongo, pea ke kuku maʻu, mo fakatomala. Ko ia kapau ʻe ʻikai te ke leʻo, te u haʻu kiate koe ʻo hangē ha kaihaʻa, pea ʻe ʻikai te ke ʻilo ʻae feituʻulaʻā ʻo ʻeku haʻu kiate koe.
Remember, therefore, how thou hast received, and didst hear, and keep it and repent. If then thou shall not watch, I will have come as a thief, and in nowise shalt thou get to know, during what sort of hour, I will have come upon thee.
4 Naʻa mo Satisi, ʻoku ke maʻu ai ʻae tokosiʻi kuo ʻikai ke nau fakaʻuliʻi honau ngaahi kofu; pea ʻe ʻaʻeva mo au ʻakinautolu ʻi he kofu hinehina: he ʻoku ʻaonga ʻakinautolu
Nevertheless, thou hast a few names, in Sardis, which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white, because they are, worthy.
5 Ko ia ia ʻe ikuna, ko ia ʻe fakakofu, ʻaki ʻae kofu hinehina; pea ʻe ʻikai te u tāmateʻi hono hingoa mei he tohi ʻoe moʻui, ka te u fakahā hono hingoa ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻeku Tamai, pea mo e ʻao ʻo ʻene kau ʻāngelo.
He that overcometh, shall, thus, array himself in white garments, and in nowise will I blot out his name, from the book of life; and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his messengers.
6 “Ko ia ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi.”’
He that hath an ear, let him hear what, the Spirit, is saying unto the assemblies.
7 “Pea tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻoe siasi ʻi Filatelifia; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe ia ʻoku māʻoniʻoni, ʻaia ʻoku moʻoni, “ʻAia ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae kī ʻo Tevita, pea ʻoku ne toʻo, pea ʻikai ke tāpuni ʻe ha taha; pea ʻoku ne tāpuni, pea ʻikai toʻo ʻe ha taha;”
And, unto the messenger of the assembly, in Philadelphia, write: —These things, saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth and no one shall shut, and shutteth and no one openeth:
8 “ʻOku ou ʻiloʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue: vakai, kuo u tuku ʻi ho ʻao ʻae matapā kuo ava, pea ʻe ʻikai faʻa tāpuni ia ʻe ha taha: he ʻoku ai hoʻo mālohi siʻi, pea kuo ke tauhiʻi ʻa ʻeku lea, pea naʻe ʻikai te ke fakafisingaʻi hoku hingoa.
I know thy works, —lo! I have set before thee an open door, as to which, no one, can shut it, —that thou hast, a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
9 Vakai, ʻoku ou tuku atu ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻoe falelotu ʻo Sētane, ʻakinautolu ʻoku pehē, ko e kau Siu ʻakinautolu, ka ʻoku ʻikai, ka ʻoku nau loi; vakai, te u puleʻi ʻakinautolu ke haʻu ʻo punou hifo ʻi ho vaʻe, pea ke nau ʻilo kuo u ʻofa kiate koe.
Lo! I give them of the synagogue of Satan, who are affirming themselves to be, Jews, and are not, —but say what is false, —lo! I will cause them, that they shall have come, and shall bow down before thy feet, and shall get to know that, I, loved thee.
10 Pea koeʻuhi kuo ke tauhi ʻae lea ʻo ʻeku faʻa kātaki, te u tauhi foki ʻa koe ʻi he feituʻulaʻā ʻoe ʻahiʻahi, ʻaia ʻe hoko ki māmani kotoa pē, ke ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi māmani.
Because thou didst keep my word of endurance, I also, will keep thee out of the hour of trial, which is about to come upon the whole habitable world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Vakai, ʻoku ou haʻu fakavave: kuku ke maʻu ʻaia ʻoku ke maʻu, ke ʻoua naʻa faʻao ho pale ʻe ha taha kehe.
I come quickly: hold fast that which thou hast, that, no one, take thy crown.
12 Ko ia ia ʻe ikuna, te u ngaohi ia ko e pou ʻi he fale tapu ʻo hoku ʻOtua, pea ʻe ʻikai toe ʻalu atu ia: pea te u tohi ki ai ʻae huafa ʻo hoku ʻOtua, mo e hingoa ʻoe kolo ʻo hoku ʻOtua, ʻae Selūsalema foʻou, ʻaia ʻoku ʻalu hifo mei he langi mei hoku ʻOtua: pea mo hoku hingoa foʻou ʻoʻoku.
He that overcometh, I will make, him, a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, and, outside, shall he in nowise go forth any more; and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God, and [I will write upon him] my new name.
13 “Ko ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi.”’
He that hath an ear, let him hear what, the Spirit, is saying unto the assemblies.
14 “Pea tohi ki he ʻāngelo ʻoe siasi ʻoe kakai Leotisia; ‘ʻOku folofolaʻaki ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe he ʻEmeni, ko e Fakamoʻoni angatonu mo moʻoni, ko e Tupuʻanga ʻoe ngaahi meʻa kuo fakatupu ʻe he ʻOtua;
And, unto the messenger of the assembly, in Laodicea, write: —These things, saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness the beginning of the creation of God:
15 “ʻOku ou ʻiloʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue, ʻoku ʻikai te ke momoko pe vela: ʻamusiaange ʻeau ʻoku ke momoko pe vela.
I know thy works; —that neither, cold, art thou, nor hot: I would that, cold, thou hadst been, or hot.
16 Ko ia koeʻuhi ʻoku ke māmāfana pe, ʻo ʻikai momoko pe vela, teu puʻaki koe mei hoku ngutu.
Thus, because, lukewarm, thou art, and neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit thee out of my mouth.
17 Koeʻuhi ʻoku ke pehē, ‘ʻOku ou koloaʻia, pea kuo u fakamaʻumeʻaʻi au,’ pea ʻoku ʻikai te u masiva ʻi ha meʻa; ka ʻoku ʻikai te ke ʻilo ʻoku ke kovi lahi, pea malaʻia, pea masiva, pea kui, pea telefua.
Because thou sayest, Rich, am I, and have become enriched, and, of nothing, have I need, and knowest not that, thou, art the wretched one, and pitiable, and destitute, and blind, and naked,
18 ʻOku ou akonakiʻi koe ke ke fakatau ʻiate au ʻae koula kuo ʻahiʻahi ʻi he afi, koeʻuhi ke ke koloaʻia ai; pea mo e kofu hinehina, koeʻuhi ke ke kofuʻaki, ke ʻoua naʻa hā mai ʻae mā ʻo hoʻo telefua―pea ke tuluʻi ho mata ʻaki ʻae meʻa tuluʻi mata koeʻuhi ke ke ʻā ai.
I counsel thee to buy of me, gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich, —and white raiment, that thou mayest array thyself, and, the shame of thy nakedness, may not be made manifest, —and eye-salve, to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.
19 Ko kinautolu ʻoku ou ʻofa ai, ʻoku ou valokiʻi mo tauteʻi: ko ia ke ke fai feinga, mo fakatomala.
I, as many as I tenderly love, I convict and put under discipline: be zealous, therefore, and repent.
20 Vakai, ʻoku ou tuʻu ʻi he matapā, mo tukituki: kapau ʻe fanongo ʻe ha taha ki hoku leʻo, mo toʻo ʻae matapā, teu hū atu kiate ia, pea te ma keinanga fakataha mo au.
Lo! I am standing at the door, and knocking; if anyone shall hearken unto my voice, and open the door, I will come in unto him, and will sup with him, and, he, with, me.
21 Ko ia ia ʻe ikuna, te u foaki ki ai ke nofo mo au ʻi hoku nofoʻa fakaʻeiʻeiki, ʻo hangē foki ko ʻeku ikuna, peau nofo mo ʻeku Tamai ʻi hono nofoʻa fakaʻeiʻeiki.
He that overcometh, I will give, unto him, to take his seat with me in my throne, as, I also, overcame, and took my seat with my Father in his throne.
22 “Ko ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga, ke fakafanongo ia ki he folofola ʻae Laumālie ki he ngaahi siasi.”’”
He that hath an ear, let him hear what, the Spirit, is saying unto the assemblies.
