< Saame 92 >
1 Ko e Saame pe ko e Hiva ki he ʻaho tapu. ʻOku lelei ke ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, pea ke hiva fakamālō ki ho huafa, ʻE fungani māʻolunga:
Yahweh, it is good for people to thank you and to sing to praise you [MTY] who are greater than any other god.
2 Ke fakahā atu hoʻo ʻaloʻofa ʻi he pongipongi, mo hoʻo moʻoni ʻi he pō kotoa pē,
It is good to proclaim every morning that you faithfully love us, and each night [to sing songs that] declare that you always do what you have promised to do,
3 ʻAki ʻae meʻa faiva ʻoku hongofulu hono filo, pea mo e saliteli; ʻaki ʻae leʻo mamafa ʻi he haʻape.
accompanied by [musicians playing] harps that have ten strings, and by the sounds made by a lyre.
4 He kuo ke fakafiefiaʻi au, ʻE Sihova, ʻi hoʻo ngāue: te u vikiviki ʻi he ngaahi ngāue ʻa ho nima.
Yahweh, you have caused me to be glad; I sing joyfully because of what you [SYN] have done.
5 ʻE Sihova, ʻoku mātuʻaki lahi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue! pea ʻoku loloto ʻaupito hoʻo ngaahi fakakaukau.
Yahweh, the things that you do are great! But it is difficult for us to understand [all] that you think.
6 ʻOku ʻikai ʻiloʻi ʻe he tangata anga fakamanu; pea ʻoku ʻikai ʻilo eni ʻe he vale.
There are things [that you do] that foolish people cannot know about, things that stupid people cannot understand.
7 ʻOka tupu ʻae kau angahala ʻo hangē ko e mohuku, pea ʻoka moʻui lelei ʻae kau fai kovi kotoa pē; ko e meʻa ia ke fakaʻauha ai ʻakinautolu ʻo taʻengata:
They do not understand that although the number of wicked [people] increases [like blades of] grass do [SIM], and they prosper, they will be completely destroyed.
8 Ka ko koe, ʻE Sihova, ʻoku ke fungani māʻolunga ʻo taʻengata.
But Yahweh, you [will] exalted/be honored/rule) forever.
9 Pea vakai, ko ho ngaahi fili, ʻE Sihova, ko e moʻoni ʻe ʻauha ho ngaahi fili; ʻe fakahēʻi ʻae kau fai kovi kotoa pē.
Yahweh, your enemies will [certainly] die, and those who do wicked things will be defeated/scattered.
10 Ka te ke hiki hake hoku nifo ʻo hangē ko e nifo ʻoe liimi: ʻe tākai ʻaki au ʻae lolo foʻou.
But you have caused me to be as strong [MTY] as [SIM] a wild ox; you have caused me to be very joyful [MTY].
11 Pea ʻe mamata foki ʻa hoku mata ki hoku ngaahi fili, pea ʻe fanongo ʻa hoku telinga, ki he angahala ʻoku tuʻu hake ʻo angatuʻu kiate au.
I [SYN] have seen you defeat my enemies; d I have heard those evil men wail/scream while they were being slaughtered.
12 ʻE lau maʻuiʻui ʻae angatonu ʻo hangē ko e ʻakau ko e ponga: ʻe tupu ia ʻo hangē ko e sita ʻi Lepanoni.
But righteous [people] will prosper like [SIM] palm trees that grow well, or like [SIM] cedar [trees] that grow in Lebanon.
13 Ko kinautolu kuo tō ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova tenau lau maʻuiʻui ʻi he ngaahi lotoʻā ʻo hotau ʻOtua.
[They are like the trees] that grow near the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem], those trees that are close to the courtyard of the temple of our God.
14 ʻE kei tupu ʻae fua ʻiate kinautolu ʻi heʻenau motuʻa; tenau sino lelei mo lau maʻuiʻui.
[Even] when righteous people become old, they do many things [IDM] [that please God]. They remain strong and full of energy, [like trees that] [MET] remain full of sap.
15 Ke fakahā ʻoku angatonu ʻa Sihova: ko hoku maka ia, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha taʻemāʻoniʻoni ʻiate ia.
That shows that Yahweh is just; he is [like a huge] rock [under which I am safe/protected], and he never does anything that is wicked/wrong.
