1 Ko e Lotu ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻE Sihova, ke ke fofonga mai, ʻo fanongo kiate au: he ʻoku ou masiva mo mamahi.
Yahweh, listen [IDM] to what I say and answer me, because I am weak and needy.
2 Fakamoʻui hoku laumālie; he ʻoku ou māʻoniʻoni: ʻa koe ko hoku ʻOtua, fakamoʻui hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ʻaia ʻoku falala kiate koe.
Prevent me from dying now, because I (am loyal to/continue to believe in) you; save/rescue me, because I serve you and I trust in you, my God.
3 ‌ʻE ʻEiki, ke ke ʻaloʻofa kiate au: he ʻoku ou tangi kiate koe ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
Lord, be kind to me, because I cry out to you all during the day.
4 ‌ʻE ʻEiki, fakafiefiaʻi ʻae laumālie ʻo hoʻo tamaioʻeiki: he ʻoku ou hiki hake hoku laumālie kiate koe.
Lord, cause me to be glad, because I (pray to/worship) [IDM] you.
5 He ko koe, ʻE ʻEiki ʻoku ke angalelei, pea faʻa fakamolemole; pea mohu ʻaloʻofa kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ui kiate koe.
Lord, you are good [to us], and you forgive [us]; you faithfully love very much all those who (pray/call out) to you.
6 Fanongo, ʻE Sihova, ki heʻeku lotu pea tokanga ki he leʻo ʻo ʻeku ngaahi lotu tāumaʻu.
Lord, listen to my prayer; hear me when I cry out to you to help me.
7 ‌ʻI he ʻaho ʻo ʻeku mamahi te u ui kiate koe; he te ke talia au.
When I have troubles, I call out to you, because you answer me.
8 ‌ʻE ʻEiki, ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻi he ngaahi ʻotua ʻoku tatau mo koe; pea ʻoku ʻikai ha ngāue ʻe hangē ko hoʻo ngaahi ngāue.
Lord, among all the gods [whom the heathen nations worship], there is no one like you; not one of them has done [the great things] that you have done.
9 ‌ʻE ʻEiki, ʻe haʻu ʻo hū ʻi ho ʻao ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē naʻa ke ngaohi; pea tenau fakaongoongoleleiʻi ho huafa.
Lord, [some day, people from] all the nations that you have established will come and bow down in front of you and they will praise you [MTY].
10 He ʻoku ke lahi, pea ʻoku ke fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa mana: ko koe pē ko e ʻOtua.
You are great, and you do wonderful/marvelous things; only you are God.
11 ‌ʻE Sihova, ako kiate au ho hala; te u ʻeveʻeva ʻi hoʻo moʻoni: ngaohi ke taha pē hoku loto ke manavahē ki ho huafa.
Yahweh, teach me what you want me to do in order that I may conduct my life according to what you say, which is true. Cause/Teach me to revere you.
12 ‌ʻE ʻEiki ko hoku ʻOtua, te u fakafetaʻi kiate koe ʻaki hoku loto kotoa: pea te u fakaongoongolelei ho huafa ʻo taʻengata.
Lord, my God, I [will] thank you with all my inner being, and I will praise you forever.
13 He ʻoku lahi hoʻo ʻaloʻofa kiate au: pea kuo ke fakamoʻui hoku laumālie mei he loto heli. (Sheol h7585)
You faithfully love me very much; you have prevented me from [dying and going to] the place where dead people are. (Sheol h7585)
14 ‌ʻE ʻOtua, kuo tuʻu hake kiate au ʻae kau fielahi, pea naʻe kumi hoku laumālie ʻe he ngaahi fakataha ʻoe kau fakamālohi; pea ʻoku ʻikai tenau fokotuʻu ʻa hoʻo ʻafio ʻi honau ʻao.
But God, proud men are [trying to] attack me; a gang/group of cruel men are wanting to kill me; they are men who do not have any (respect for/interest in) you.
15 Ka ko koe, ʻE ʻEiki, ko e ʻOtua ʻoku fonu ʻi he manavaʻofa, mo e angalelei, ʻoku ke kātaki fuoloa, pea mohu ʻaloʻofa mo e moʻoni.
But Lord, you always are mercifully and kind; you do not become angry quickly, you faithfully love us very much and always do for us what you have promised to do.
16 Ke ke tafoki mai kiate au, pea ʻaloʻofa kiate au; foaki ho mālohi ki hoʻo tamaioʻeiki, pea fakamoʻui ʻae tama ʻa hoʻo kaunanga.
Look down toward me and be merciful to me; cause me to be strong and save/rescue me who serves you [faithfully] like my mother did.
17 Fakahā kiate au ʻae fakaʻilonga ʻoe lelei; koeʻuhi ke mamata ki ai ʻakinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au, pea mā ai: koeʻuhi kuo ke tokoniʻi au, ʻE Sihova, ʻo fakafiemālieʻi au.
Yahweh, do something to show me that you are being good to me in order that those who hate me will see that you have encouraged me and helped me, and as a result they will be ashamed.
