< Saame 85 >

1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ki he ngaahi foha ʻo Kola. ‌ʻE Sihova, kuo ke finangalo lelei ki ho fonua: kuo ke toe ʻomi ʻa Sēkope mei he pōpula.
Yahweh, you have been kind to [us people who live in] this land; you have enabled [us] Israeli people to become prosperous again.
2 Kuo ke fakamolemole ʻae hia ʻa hoʻo kakai, kuo ke ʻufiʻufi ʻenau angahala kotoa pē. (Sila)
You forgave [us], your people, for the sins that we had committed; you pardoned [us] for all our sins [DOU].
3 Kuo ke toʻo ʻo ʻave ho houhau kotoa pē: kuo ke fakatafoki koe mei he kakaha ʻo ho houhau.
You stopped being angry [with us] and turned away from severely punishing [us].
4 Fakatafoki ʻakimautolu, ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻemau moʻui, pea ke fakangata ho houhau kiate kimautolu.
Now, God, the one who saves/rescues us, (restore us/make us prosperous again) and stop being angry with us!
5 Te ke houhau kiate kimautolu ke taʻengata? Te ke toloi atu ho houhau ki he toʻutangata kotoa pē?
(Will you continue to be angry with us forever?/Please do not continue to be angry with us forever.) [DOU, RHQ]
6 ‌ʻIkai te ke toe fakaakeake ʻakimautolu: koeʻuhi ke fiefia hoʻo kakai ʻiate koe?
Please enable us [RHQ] to prosper again in order that [we], your people, will rejoice about what you [have done for us].
7 Fakahā kiate kimautolu hoʻo ʻaloʻofa, ʻE Sihova, mo ke tuku kiate kimautolu ʻa hoʻo fakamoʻui.
Yahweh, by rescuing us [from our troubles/difficulties], show us that you faithfully love us.
8 Te u fanongo ki he folofola ʻae ʻOtua ko Sihova: he te ne folofolaʻaki ʻae melino ki hono kakai, pea ki heʻene kau māʻoniʻoni: kaeʻoua naʻa nau toe tafoki ki he kovi.
I want to listen to what Yahweh [our] God says, because he promises/says that he will enable [us], his people, to live peacefully, if we do not return to doing foolish things.
9 Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ofi ʻene fakamoʻui kiate kinautolu ʻoku manavahē kiate ia, koeʻuhi ke nofo ʻae monūʻia ʻi hotau fonua.
He is surely ready to save/rescue those who revere him, in order that [his] glory/splendor will be seen in our land.
10 Kuo fakafetaulaki ʻae ʻaloʻofa mo e moʻoni; ko e māʻoniʻoni mo e melino kuo na toutou fekita.
[When that happens], he will both faithfully love us and faithfully [do for us what he promised to do] [PRS]; and we will act/behave righteously, and he will give us peace, which will be like a kiss that he gives us.
11 ‌ʻE tupu hake ʻae moʻoni mei he kelekele; pea ʻe sio hifo ʻae māʻoniʻoni mei he langi.
Here on earth, we will (be loyal to/continually believe in) God, and from heaven, God will act justly/fairly [toward us].
12 ‌ʻIo, ʻe foaki ʻe Sihova ʻaia ʻoku lelei; pea ʻe tuku mai hono fua ʻe hotau fonua.
Yes, Yahweh will do good things [for us], and there will be great harvests in our land.
13 ‌ʻE muʻomuʻa ʻiate ia ʻae māʻoniʻoni, ʻo ne fokotuʻu hotau vaʻe ʻi hono hala.
[Yahweh always acts] righteously [PRS, MET]; he acts righteously wherever he goes.
