1 Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Sosanimi ʻEtuta, ko e Saame ʻa ʻAsafi. Fakafanongo ʻae Tauhi ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻa koe ʻoku ke tataki ʻa Siosefa ʻo hangē ko e fanga sipi; ʻa koe ʻoku ke ʻafio ʻi he vahaʻa ʻoe selupimi, ke ke ulo mai.
To the Overseer. — 'On the Lilies.' A testimony of Asaph. — A Psalm. Shepherd of Israel, give ear, Leading Joseph as a flock, Inhabiting the cherubs — shine forth,
2 ʻI he ʻao ʻo ʻIfalemi mo Penisimani mo Manase ke ke ueʻi hake ho mālohi, pea hāʻele mai ʻo fakamoʻui ʻakimautolu.
Before Ephraim, and Benjamin, and Manasseh, Wake up Thy might, and come for our salvation.
3 ʻE ʻOtua, ke ke toe fakatafoki ʻakimautolu, pea tuku ke ulo mai ho fofonga; pea te mau moʻui ai.
O God, cause us to turn back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
4 ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa mo hoʻo kei houhau ki he lotu ʻa ho kakai?
Jehovah, God of Hosts, till when? Thou hast burned against the prayer of Thy people.
5 ʻOku ke fafanga ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻae mā ʻoe loʻimata; pea ʻoku ʻange kiate kinautolu ʻae loʻimata lahi kenau inu.
Thou hast caused them to eat bread of tears, And causest them to drink With tears a third time.
6 ʻOku ke ngaohi ʻakimautolu ko e fekeʻikeʻiʻanga ʻo homau kaungāʻapi: pea ʻoku katakata homau ngaahi fili ʻiate kinautolu.
Thou makest us a strife to our neighbours, And our enemies mock at it.
7 ʻE ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ke ke toe fakatafoki ʻakimautolu, pea tuku ke ulo mai ho fofonga; pea te mau moʻui ai.
God of Hosts, turn us back, And cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved.
8 Naʻa ke lī kituʻa ʻae hiteni; ka naʻa ke ʻomi ʻae vaine mei ʻIsipite, ʻo tō ia.
A vine out of Egypt Thou dost bring, Thou dost cast out nations, and plantest it.
9 Naʻa ke fakaʻataʻatā [ʻae potu ]ʻi hono ʻao, pea naʻa ke fakaaka māʻulalo ia, pea naʻa ne fakapito ʻae fonua.
Thou hast looked before it, and dost root it, And it filleth the land,
10 Naʻe ʻufiʻufi ʻae ngaahi moʻunga ʻi hono malumalu, pea ko hono ngaahi vaʻa naʻe hangē ko e ngaahi sita ʻae ʻOtua.
Covered have been hills [with] its shadow, And its boughs [are] cedars of God.
11 Naʻa ne tuku atu hono ngaahi vaʻa ki he tahi, mo hono ngaahi ʻuluʻulu ki he vaitafe.
It sendeth forth its branches unto the sea, And unto the river its sucklings.
12 Ko e hā kuo ke hae hifo ai hono ngaahi ʻā, ke toli ia ʻekinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻalu atu ʻi he hala?
Why hast Thou broken down its hedges, And all passing by the way have plucked it?
13 ʻOku maumauʻi ia ʻe he puaka tau mei he vao, ʻoku kai ke ʻosi ia ʻe he fanga manu kaivao.
A boar out of the forest doth waste it, And a wild beast of the fields consumeth it.
14 ʻE ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻoku mau kole kiate koe ke ke foki mai: ʻafio hifo mei he langi, ʻo vakai, mo ʻaʻahi ki he vaine ni;
God of Hosts, turn back, we beseech Thee, Look from heaven, and see, and inspect this vine,
15 Mo e ngoue vaine ʻaia kuo tō ʻe ho nima toʻomataʻu, mo e vaʻa ʻaia naʻa ke ngaohi ke mālohi maʻau.
And the root that Thy right hand planted, And the branch Thou madest strong for Thee,
16 Kuo tutu ia ʻaki ʻae afi, kuo tā hifo ia: kuo nau ʻauha ʻi he tautea ʻe ho fofonga.
Burnt with fire — cut down, From the rebuke of Thy face they perish.
17 Tuku ke hili ho nima ki he tangata ʻo ho nima toʻomataʻu, ki he foha ʻoe tangata ʻaia naʻa ke fakamālohi maʻau.
Let Thy hand be on the man of Thy right hand, On the son of man Thou hast strengthened for Thyself.
18 Pea ʻe ʻikai ai te mau foki kimui meiate koe: ke ke fakaakeake ʻakimautolu, pea temau ui ki ho huafa.
And we do not go back from Thee, Thou dost revive us, and in Thy name we call.
19 ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ke ke toe fakatafoki ʻakimautolu, pea tuku ke ulo mai ho fofonga; pea temau moʻui ai.
O Jehovah, God of Hosts, turn us back, Cause Thy face to shine, and we are saved!
