< Saame 74 >
1 Ko e Saame akonaki ʻa ʻAsafi. ʻE ʻOtua, ko e hā kuo ke liʻaki ai ʻakimautolu ʻo taʻengata? Ko e hā ʻoku kohu ai ho houhau ki he fanga sipi ʻo hoʻo ngoue?
An Instruction of Asaph. Why, O God, hast Thou cast off for ever? Thine anger smoketh against the flock of Thy pasture.
2 Manatu ki he fakataha ʻo hoʻo kakai, ʻaia naʻa ke fakatau ʻi muʻa; ko e faʻahinga ʻo ho tofiʻa, ʻaia kuo ke huhuʻi; ʻae moʻunga ni ko Saione, ʻaia naʻa ke nofo ai.
Remember Thy company. Thou didst purchase of old, Thou didst redeem the rod of Thy inheritance, This mount Zion — Thou didst dwell in it.
3 Hiki hake ho vaʻe ki hono ngaahi maumau kuo tuʻumaʻu pe; ʻio, ki he meʻa kotoa pē kuo fai ʻi he angakovi ʻe he fili ʻi he faletapu.
Lift up Thy steps to the perpetual desolations, Everything the enemy did wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 ʻOku ʻioho ʻa ho ngaahi fili ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo hoʻo ngaahi fakataha; ʻoku nau fokotuʻu ʻenau ngaahi fuka ko e ngaahi fakaʻilonga.
Roared have thine adversaries, In the midst of Thy meeting-places, They have set their ensigns as ensigns.
5 Naʻe ongoongo ʻae tangata ʻo fakatatau mo ʻene faʻa fai ke hiki ki ʻolunga ʻae ngaahi toki ki he ngaahi ʻakau lahi.
He is known as one bringing in on high Against a thicket of wood — axes.
6 Ka ko eni, kuo nau maumauʻi ʻaki ʻae ngaahi toki mo e hamala ʻae ngaahi meʻa tongitongi kotoa pē.
And now, its carvings together With axe and hatchet they break down,
7 Kuo nau lī ʻae afi ki ho faletapu, kuo nau ʻuliʻi ʻae ʻafioʻanga ʻo ho huafa ʻo holoki hifo ia ki he kelekele.
They have sent into fire Thy sanctuary, to the earth they polluted the tabernacle of Thy name,
8 Naʻa nau pehē ʻi honau loto, “Ketau fakaʻauha fakataha ʻakinautolu:” kuo nau tutu ʻo ʻosi ʻae ngaahi falelotu ʻoe ʻOtua ʻi he fonua.
They said in their hearts, 'Let us oppress them together,' They did burn all the meeting-places of God in the land.
9 ʻOku ʻikai temau kei mamata ki heʻemau ngaahi fakaʻilonga: ʻoku ʻikai ha palōfita ʻe toe: pea ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻiate kitautolu ʻoku ne ʻilo pe ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa.
Our ensigns we have not seen, There is no more a prophet, Nor with us is one knowing how long.
10 ʻE ʻOtua, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa ʻoe lauʻikovi ʻae fili? ʻE kape ki ho huafa ʻe he fili ʻo taʻengata?
Till when, O God, doth an adversary reproach? Doth an enemy despise thy name for ever?
11 Ko e hā ʻoku ke toʻo atu ai ho nima, ʻio, ho nima toʻomataʻu? Toʻo mai ia mei ho fatafata.
Why dost Thou turn back Thy hand, Even Thy right hand? From the midst of Thy bosom remove [it].
12 He ko e ʻOtua ko hoku Tuʻi talu mei muʻa, ʻoku ne fai ʻae fakamoʻui ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo māmani.
And God [is] my king of old, Working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 Naʻa ke vaeua ʻae tahi ʻi ho mālohi: naʻa ke foaʻi ʻae ʻulu ʻoe ngaahi talākoni ʻi he ngaahi vai,
Thou hast broken by Thy strength a sea -[monster], Thou hast shivered Heads of dragons by the waters,
14 ʻOku ke foaʻi ʻo laiki ʻae ngaahi ʻulu ʻoe levaiatani, ʻo ke ʻange ia ko e meʻakai ki he kakai ʻoku nofo ʻi he toafa.
Thou hast broken the heads of leviathan, Thou makest him food, For the people of the dry places.
15 Naʻa ke vaeua ʻae matavai mo e vaitafe lahi: naʻa ke fakamōmoa ʻae ngaahi vaitafe lahi.
Thou hast cleaved a fountain and a stream, Thou hast dried up perennial flowings.
16 ʻOku ʻoʻou ʻae ʻaho, pea ʻoku ʻoʻou foki mo e pō: kuo ke teuteu ʻae maama mo e laʻā.
Thine [is] the day, also Thine [is] the night, Thou hast prepared a light giver — the sun.
17 Kuo ke ʻai ʻae ngaahi ngataʻanga kotoa pē ʻoe fonua; kuo ke ngaohi ʻae faʻahitaʻu mafana mo e faʻahitaʻu momoko.
Thou hast set up all the borders of earth, Summer and winter Thou hast formed them.
18 ʻE Sihova, manatu ki he meʻa ni, kuo lauʻikovi ʻe he fili, pea kuo kape ki ho huafa ʻae kakai vale.
Remember this — an enemy reproached Jehovah, And a foolish people have despised Thy name.
Give not up to a company, The soul of Thy turtle-dove, The company of Thy poor ones forget not for ever.
20 Ke ke tokanga ki he fuakava: he ʻoku pito ʻae ngaahi potu fakapoʻuli ʻo māmani ʻi he ngaahi nofoʻanga ʻoe angamālohi.
Look attentively to the covenant, For the dark places of earth, Have been full of habitations of violence.
21 ʻOua naʻa ke tuku ke liu mai kuo mā ʻae kakai kuo taʻomia: tuku ke fakamālō ki ho huafa ʻae kau masiva mo e vaivai.
Let not the oppressed turn back ashamed, Let the poor and needy praise Thy name,
22 ʻE ʻOtua, ke ke tuʻu hake, ʻo langomakiʻi hoʻo ngāue ʻaʻau: manatu ki he lauʻikoviʻi koe ʻe he tangata vale ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
Arise, O God, plead Thy plea, Remember Thy reproach from a fool all the day.
23 ʻOua naʻa ngalo ʻae leʻo ʻo ho ngaahi fili: ko e maveuveu ʻokinautolu ʻoku tuʻu hake kiate koe ʻoku tupulekina ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
Forget not the voice of Thine adversaries, The noise of Thy withstanders is going up continually!
