1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Hiva pe ko e Saame. Mou kalanga fiefia ki he ʻOtua, ʻae fonua kotoa pē:
For the leader. A song. A psalm. Shout to God, all the earth,
2 Hiva ʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei ʻo hono huafa: fakaongoongolelei ʻae fakamālō kiate ia.
sing praise to his glorious name, sing his glorious praise.
3 Mou pehē ki he ʻOtua, “ʻOku ke fakamanavahē koe ʻi hoʻo ngaahi ngāue! Ko e meʻa ʻi hono lahi ʻo hoʻo māfimafi ʻe fakamoʻulaloa ai ʻekinautolu ʻe ho ngaahi fili kiate koe.
Say to God, ‘How dread are your works, so great is your might that your enemies cringe to you.
4 ‌ʻE hū ʻa māmani kotoa pē kiate koe, ʻonau hiva kiate koe; te nau hiva ki ho huafa.” (Sila)
All the earth does homage to you, singing praises to you, singing praise to your name.’ (Selah)
5 Haʻu ʻo mamata ki he ngaahi ngāue ʻae ʻOtua: ʻoku fakamanavahē ia ʻi heʻene ngāue ki he ngaahi fānau ʻae tangata.
Come and see what God has done, awe-inspiring is he in his works among people.
6 Naʻa ne liliu ʻae tahi ko e fonua mōmoa: naʻa nau ʻalu ʻi he fuʻu vaitafe ʻi honau vaʻe: naʻa tau fiefia ʻiate ia ʻi ai.
He turns the sea into dry land, and people cross the river on foot. Let us therefore rejoice in him,
7 ‌ʻOku pule ia ʻi heʻene māfimafi ʻo taʻengata; ʻoku vakai ʻe hono fofonga ki he ngaahi puleʻanga: ʻoua naʻa hiki hake ʻakinautolu ʻe he kau angatuʻu. (Sila)
the mighty Ruler eternal, whose eyes keep watch on the nations, that no rebel lift up his head. (Selah)
8 ‌ʻAkimoutolu ʻae kakai, mou fakafetaʻi ki hotau ʻOtua, pea fai ke ongo ʻae leʻo ʻoe fakamālō kiate ia:
O bless our God, you peoples; sound aloud his praise,
9 ‌ʻAia ʻoku ne poupou hotau laumālie ʻi he moʻui, pea ʻikai tuku hotau vaʻe ke ngaue.
who keeps us in life, and keeps our feet from slipping.
10 He kuo ke ʻiloʻi ʻakimautolu, ʻE ʻOtua: kuo ke ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻakimautolu, ʻo hangē ko e ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻoe siliva.
For you, God, have tested us, have tried us, as silver is tried.
11 Naʻa ke ʻomi ʻakimautolu ki he kupenga; naʻa ke ʻai ʻae mahaki ki homau kongaloto.
You did bring us into prison, and put chains upon us,
12 Naʻa ke tuku ke laka ʻae kakai ʻi homau ʻulu; naʻa mau ʻalu pe ʻi he afi mo e vai: ka naʻa ke ʻomi ʻakimautolu ki he potu mahu.
you did let people ride over our head. We went through fire and through water, but you led us out to a spacious place.
13 Te u hū ki ho fale mo e ngaahi feilaulau tutu: te u ʻatu kiate koe ʻo hangē ko ʻeku ngaahi fuakava,
I will enter your house with burnt-offerings, I will pay to you my vows,
14 ‌ʻAia kuo ongo atu mei hoku loungutu, pea lea ʻaki ʻe hoku ngutu, ʻi heʻeku ʻi he mamahi.
which my open lips have uttered, arid my mouth has declared in my straits.
15 Te u ʻatu kiate koe ʻae ngaahi feilaulau tutu ʻae fanga manu sino, mo e meʻa namu kakala ʻoe fanga sipitangata; te u ʻatu ʻae fanga pulu mo e fanga kosi. (Sila)
I will offer you offerings of fatlings, with the odour of burning rams, I will sacrifice bullocks with goats. (Selah)
16 Haʻu ʻo fanongo, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku manavahē ki he ʻOtua, pea te u fakahā ʻaia kuo ne fai ki hoku laumālie.
Come and hear my story all who fear God – of what he has done for me.
17 Naʻaku tangi kiate ia ʻaki hoku ngutu, pea naʻe fakamālō ʻa hoku ʻelelo kiate ia.
For my mouth had no sooner invoked him than his praise was under my tongue.
18 Kapau te u tokanga ki he kovi ʻi hoku loto, ʻe ʻikai fanongo ʻae ʻEiki kiate au:
Had I cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would never have listened.
19 Ka ko e moʻoni kuo ongoʻi au ʻe he ʻOtua; naʻe tokanga ia ki he leʻo ʻo ʻeku lotu.
But assuredly God has listened, and attended to my loud prayer.
20 Fakafetaʻi ki he ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe ʻikai te ne liʻaki ʻeku lotu, pe ko ʻene ʻaloʻofa ʻiate au.
Blessed be God, who turned not aside my prayer, nor withdrew his kindness from me.
