< Saame 62 >

1 Ki he Takimuʻa ko Situtuni, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Ko e moʻoni ʻoku tatali hoku laumālie ki he ʻOtua: ʻoku meiate ia hoku fakamoʻui.
For the leader. On jeduthun. A psalm of David. I wait alone in silence for God; From him comes my help.
2 Ko ia pē ko hoku makatuʻu mo hoku fakamoʻui; ko hoku hūfanga ia; ʻe ʻikai faʻa ueʻi lahi au.
Yes, he is my rock, my help, my retreat, I shall not be shaken too sorely.
3 ‌ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo hoʻomou kei filioʻi kovi ki he tangata? ʻe tāmateʻi ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē: te mou hangē ko e ʻā kuo malele, mo e ʻā ʻoku tuʻu tetetete.
How long will you, all of you, batter a man, as one might a leaning wall?
4 ‌ʻOku nau fakakaukau ke tulaki hifo ia mei heʻene lelei: ʻoku nau fiemālie pe ʻi he loi: ʻoku nau tāpuaki ʻaki honau ngutu, ka ʻoku nau kape ʻi loto. (Sila)
From his height they are planning to topple him. They take pleasure in falsehood; they bless with their mouth, but inwardly they curse. (Selah)
5 ‌ʻE hoku laumālie, ke ke tatali pe ki he ʻOtua; he ʻoku meiate ia ʻeku ʻamanaki lelei.
I wait alone in silence for God; for from him comes my hope.
6 Ko ia pe ko hoku makatuʻu mo hoku fakamoʻui: ko hoku hūfanga ia; ʻe ʻikai faʻa ueʻi au.
Yes, he is my rock, my help, my retreat, I shall not be shaken too sorely.
7 ‌ʻOku ʻi he ʻOtua ʻa hoku fakamoʻui mo ʻeku fiefia: ko e makatuʻu ʻo hoku mālohi, mo hoku hūfanga ʻoku ʻi he ʻOtua.
On God rests my honor and safety, in God is my strong rock, my refuge.
8 Falala maʻuaipē kiate ia; ʻakimoutolu ʻae kakai, lilingi homou loto ʻi hono ʻao: ko e hūfanga ʻae ʻOtua kiate kitautolu. (Sila)
Trust in him, all you people assembled, pour out your heart in his presence; God is a refuge for us. (Selah)
9 Ko e moʻoni ko e meʻa vaʻinga pe ʻae kau tangata māʻulalo, pea ko e meʻa loi ʻae kau tangata māʻolunga: kapau ʻe ʻai ki he meʻa fakamamafa, ʻoku nau maʻamaʻa lahi hake kotoa pē ʻi he meʻa vaʻinga.
The lowly are nought but a breath, the lofty are but an illusion: in the balances up they go, they are lighter than breath altogether.
10 ‌ʻOua naʻa falala ki he fakamālohi pea ʻoua naʻa viki ʻi he kaihaʻa: kapau ʻoku tupu ʻae koloa, ʻoua naʻa tuku homou loto ki ai.
Trust not in gain of extortion, set no vain hopes in robbery. As for wealth, if it bears fruit, set not your heart upon it.
11 Kuo folofola ʻae ʻOtua ʻo tuʻo taha; pea naʻe tuʻo ua ʻa ʻeku fanongo eni; ʻoku ʻi he ʻOtua ʻae mālohi.
One thing God has uttered, two things there are which I heard that power belongs to God,
12 Pea ʻoku ʻiate koe foki, ʻE ʻEiki, ʻae ʻaloʻofa: he ʻoku ke ʻange ki he tangata taki taha kotoa pē ʻo fakatatau ki heʻene ngāue.
and to you, too, O Lord, belongs kindness; for you requite each person according to what they have done.
