Saame 61

1 Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻE ʻOtua, ke ke fanongo ki heʻeku tangi; tokanga ki heʻeku lotu.

To the Overseer, on stringed instruments. — By David. Hear, O God, my loud cry, attend to my prayer.

2 Te u tangi kiate koe mei he ngataʻanga ʻo māmani, ʻoka taʻomia hoku loto: ke ke tataki au ki he maka ʻoku māʻolunga hake ʻiate au.

From the end of the land unto Thee I call, In the feebleness of my heart, Into a rock higher than I Thou dost lead me.

3 He naʻa ke hoko ko hoku ungakiʻi, ko e fale māʻolunga pea mālohi ki he fili.

For Thou hast been a refuge for me, A tower of strength because of the enemy.

4 Te u nofomaʻu ʻi ho fale fehikitaki ʻo taʻengata: te u falala ki he malu ʻo ho kapakau. (Sila)

I sojourn in Thy tent to the ages, I trust in the secret place of Thy wings. (Selah)

5 He kuo ke fanongo ki heʻeku ngaahi fuakava, ʻE ʻOtua: kuo ke foaki kiate au ʻae tofiʻa ʻokinautolu ʻoku manavahē ki ho huafa.

For Thou, O God, hast hearkened to my vows, Thou hast appointed the inheritance Of those fearing Thy name.

6 Te ke fakatolonga ʻae moʻui ʻae tuʻi, mo hono ngaahi taʻu ʻo hangē mei he toʻutangata ki he toʻutangata.

Days to the days of the king Thou addest, His years as generation and generation.

7 ‌ʻE nofomaʻu ia ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua taʻengata: ke ke teuteu ʻae ʻaloʻofa mo e moʻoni ʻaia te na fakamoʻui ia. Ko ia te u hiva fakamālō ai ki ho huafa ʻo taʻengata, koeʻuhi ke u fai ki heʻeku ngaahi fuakava ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.

He dwelleth to the age before God, Kindness and truth appoint — they keep him.

8 Ko ia te u hiva fakamālō ai ki ho huafa ʻo taʻengata, koeʻuhi ke u fai ki heʻeku ngaahi fuakava ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.

So do I praise Thy name for ever, When I pay my vows day by day!
