< Saame 6 >

1 Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina ʻi he Semini, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻE Sihova, ʻoua naʻa ke valokiʻi au ʻi ho houhau, pe tautea au ʻi ho houhau vela.
Yahweh, do not punish me when you are angry [with me]; Do not even rebuke/scold me [when you are angry].
2 ‌ʻAloʻofa mai kiate au, ʻE Sihova; he ʻoku ou vaivai: ʻE Sihova, fakamoʻui au he kuo mamahi hoku ngaahi hui.
Yahweh, be kind to me and heal me because I have become weak. My body [SYN] shakes because I am experiencing much pain.
3 ‌ʻOku mamahi lahi foki mo hoku laumālie: ka ko koe, ʻE Sihova, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa?
Yahweh, I am greatly distressed. How long ([must I endure this/will it be before you help me]) [RHQ]?
4 Tafoki mai, ʻE Sihova, fakahaofi hoku laumālie: ʻoiauē, fakamoʻui au koeʻuhi ko hoʻo ʻaloʻofa.
Yahweh, please come and rescue me. Save me because you faithfully love me.
5 He ʻoku ʻikai ha fakamanatu kiate koe ʻi he mate: ko hai te ne fakafetaʻi kiate koe ʻi he faʻitoka? (Sheol h7585)
I will not be able to praise you after I die [RHQ]; No one in the place of the dead praises you. (Sheol h7585)
6 Kuo u vaivai ʻi heʻeku faʻa toʻe; ʻoku ou fakatētē hoku mohenga ʻi he pō kotoa; ʻoku ou fakaviviku ʻa hoku mohenga ʻaki hoku loʻimata.
I am exhausted/groan [from my pain]. At night I cry very much, with the result that my bed and my pillow become wet from my tears.
7 Kuo tutue hoku mata ko e meʻa ʻi he mamahi; ʻoku fakaʻaʻau ke motuʻa ia koeʻuhi ko hoku ngaahi fili.
My tears blur my eyes so much that I cannot see well. My eyes have become weak because my enemies [have caused me to cry constantly].
8 ‌ʻAlu ʻiate au, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku fai kovi; he kuo ongoʻi ʻe Sihova ʻae leʻo ʻo ʻeku tangi.
You people who do evil things, get away from me!
9 Kuo fanongo ʻa Sihova ki heʻeku hū tāumaʻu; pea ʻe maʻu ʻe Sihova ʻa ʻeku lotu.
Yahweh heard me when I was crying and called out to him [to help me], and he will answer my prayer.
10 Tuku ke mā mo mamahi lahi ʻa hoku ngaahi fili kotoa pē: tuku ke nau foki pea mā fakafokifā pe.
[When that happens], all my enemies will be ashamed, and they will [also] be terrified. They will get away [from me] and suddenly [leave me] because they will be disgraced.
