1 Ki he Takimuʻa ʻi he Nekina ko e Saame akonaki ʻa Tevita, ʻi he haʻu ʻae kakai Sifi, ʻonau pehē kia Saula, ʻIkai ʻoku fufū ʻa Tevita ʻiate kimautolu? Fakamoʻui au, ʻE ʻOtua, ʻi ho huafa, mo ke fakamaau au ʻi ho mālohi.
God, by your power [MTY, DOU] save me [from my enemies], and show people that I have not done anything that is wrong!
2 Fanongo mai ki heʻeku lotu, ʻE ʻOtua fakafanongo ki he ngaahi lea ʻa hoku ngutu.
God, listen to my prayer; listen to what I say to you,
3 He kuo tuʻu hake kiate au ʻae kau muli, pea ʻoku kumi hoku laumālie ʻe he kau fakamālohi: ʻoku ʻikai te nau fokotuʻu ʻae ʻOtua ʻi honau ʻao. (Sila)
because strangers are [trying to] attack me; proud men are wanting to kill me; men who do not have any (respect for/interest in) you.
4 Vakai, ko hoku tokoni ʻae ʻOtua: ʻoku ʻiate kinautolu ʻoku poupou hoku laumālie ʻae ʻEiki.
But God is the one who helps me; Yahweh defends/protects me [from my enemies].
5 ‌ʻE totongi ʻe ia ʻaki ʻae kovi ki hoku ngaahi fili: ke ke motuhi ʻakinautolu ʻi ho moʻoni.
He will cause the evil things that they want to do to me to happen to them instead; because he faithfully [does what he promises], he will get rid of them.
6 Te u ʻatu fiemālie pē ʻae feilaulau kiate koe: te u fakamālō ki ho huafa, ʻE Sihova he ʻoku lelei ia.
Yahweh, I will gladly give an offering to you because I want to, and I will thank you [MTY], for you are good [to me];
7 He kuo ne fakamoʻui au mei he mamahi kotoa pē: pea kuo mamata ʻe hoku mata ki hoku ngaahi fili.
you have rescued me from all my troubles, and I have seen that you have defeated my enemies.
