< Saame 27 >
1 Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Ko ʻeku maama mo hoku fakamoʻui ʻa Sihova; te u manavahē kia hai? Ko e mālohi ʻo ʻeku moʻui ʻa Sihova; pea te u manavahē kia hai?
Yahweh is the one who gives light [to my soul/spirit] and the one who saves me, so I do not [RHQ] need to be afraid of anyone. Yahweh is the one to whom I go for refuge, so I will never be afraid.
2 ʻI he haʻu kiate au ʻae kau angahala, ko hoku ngaahi fili mo e kau fakamamahi kiate au, ke kai ʻo ʻosi hoku kakano, naʻa nau tūkia ʻo hinga.
When those who do evil come near me to attack me, they stumble and fall down.
3 Kapau ʻe fakataha ʻae kautau ke tauʻi au, ʻe ʻikai manavahē hoku loto; neongo ʻae tuʻu mai ʻae tau kiate au, te u falala pe ʻi he meʻa ni.
[Even] if an army surrounds me, I [SYN] will not be afraid. [Even] if they attack me, I will trust [in God].
4 Ko e meʻa ʻe taha kuo u kole kia Sihova, ʻaia te u kumi ki ai; koeʻuhi ke u nofomaʻu ʻi he fale ʻo Sihova ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē ʻo ʻeku moʻui, ke mamata ki he lelei ʻo Sihova, mo fehuʻi ʻi hono faletapu.
There is one thing that I have requested from Yahweh; this is the one thing that I desire: That I may worship in Yahweh’s house/temple every day of my life, and see that Yahweh is wonderful and inquire [what he wants me to do].
5 He te ne fufū au ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe mamahi ʻi hono ʻafioʻanga: te ne fufū au ʻi he potu lilo ʻo hono fale fehikitaki; te ne fokotuʻu au ki he funga maka.
He will protect me when I have troubles; he will keep me safe in his Sacred Tent. He will set me safely (on a high rock/in a secure place).
Then I will triumph over [IDM] my enemies. I will shout joyfully as I offer sacrifices in his Sacred Tent, and I will praise Yahweh as I sing.
7 Ke ke ongoʻi, ʻE Sihova, ʻo kau ka tangi ʻaki hoku leʻo: ke ke ʻaloʻofa mai foki kiate au, ʻo talia au.
Yahweh, listen to me while I pray. Be kind to me and answer my prayer.
8 [ʻI hoʻo folofola pehē], “Mou kumi ki hoku fofonga; naʻe pehē leva ʻe hoku loto kiate koe, Ko ho fofonga, ʻE Sihova, te u kumi.”
I sensed that I heard you say, “Come and worship me [IDM],” so, Yahweh, I will worship you.
9 ʻOua naʻa ke fufū ho fofonga ʻiate au; ʻoua naʻa ke tukuange hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ʻi ho houhau: naʻa ke tokoni au; ʻoua naʻa ke tuku au, pe siʻaki au, ʻE ʻOtua ʻo ʻeku moʻui.
I am your servant; Do not be angry with me and turn away from me. You have always helped me. You are the one who has saved me, so do not abandon me [now].
10 ʻOka liʻaki au ʻe heʻeku tamai mo ʻeku faʻē, ʻe toʻo hake au ʻe Sihova.
[Even] if my father and mother desert me, you will take care of [IDM] me.
11 ʻAko kiate au ho hala, ʻE Sihova, mo tataki au ʻi he hala ʻilongofua, koeʻuhi ko hoku ngaahi fili.
Yahweh, teach me to do what you want me to do, and lead me on a safe path because I have many enemies.
12 ʻOua naʻa ke tukuange au ki he loto ʻo hoku ngaahi fili: he kuo tuʻu hake ʻo angatuʻu kiate au ʻae kau fakamoʻoni loi, mo ia ʻoku mānava ʻaki ʻae fai kovi.
Do not allow my enemies to do to me what they want; they say many false things about me and [threaten to do] violent things to me.
13 Ka ne ʻikai te u tui ke u mamata ki he finangalo ʻofa ʻo Sihova ʻi he fonua ʻoe moʻui, pehē kuo u ilifia.
But I know that because I trust in you you will be good to me as long as I live.
14 ʻAmanaki lelei kia Sihova: pea ke lototoʻa, pea te ne fakamālohi ho loto: ʻoku ou pehē, ʻamanaki lelei kia Sihova.
So trust in Yahweh, [all of you]! Be strong and courageous, and wait expectantly for him [to help you]!
