< Saame 21 >
1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻE Sihova, ʻe fiefia ʻae tuʻi ʻi ho mālohi; pea ʻe fiefia lahi ʻaupito ia ʻi hoʻo fakamoʻui.
“To the chief musician, a psalm of David.” O Lord, because of thy strength will the king rejoice; and through thy salvation how greatly will he be glad!
2 Kuo ke foaki kiate ia ʻae holi ʻa hono loto, pea naʻe ʻikai te ke taʻofi ʻiate ia ʻae kole ʻa hono loungutu. (Sila)
The longing of his heart hast thou given him, and the request of his lips hast thou not withholden. (Selah)
3 He ʻoku ke tokoni ʻaki ia ʻae ngaahi tāpuaki ʻoe lelei: ʻoku ke ʻai ki hono fofonga ʻae tatā fakatuʻi ʻoe koula lelei.
For thou meetest him unasked with the blessings of happiness: thou settest on his head a crown of pure gold.
4 Naʻa ne kole ʻae moʻui ʻiate koe, pea naʻa ke foaki ia kiate ia, ʻio, ʻae ngaahi ʻaho lōloa ʻo taʻengata pea taʻengata.
Life hath he asked of thee, thou gavest it to him, length of days for ever and ever.
5 ʻOku lahi ʻene vikiviki ʻi hoʻo fakamoʻui: kuo ke tuku kiate ia ʻae fakaʻapaʻapa mo e nāunau.
Great is his honor through thy help: glory and majesty thou layest upon him.
6 He kuo ke ngaohi ia ke mātuʻaki monūʻia ʻo taʻengata: kuo ke fakafiefia lahi ʻaupito ia ʻaki ho fofonga.
For thou appointest him to be a blessing for ever: thou makest him glad with joy from thy presence.
7 He ʻoku falala ʻae tuʻi kia Sihova, pea ko e meʻa ʻi he ʻaloʻofa ʻoe Fungani Māʻolunga ʻe ʻikai ueʻi ia.
For the king trusteth in the Lord; and through the kindness of the Most High shall he not be moved.
8 ʻE ʻilo ʻe ho nima ʻa ho ngaahi fili kotoa pē: pea ʻe ʻilo ʻe ho nima toʻomataʻu ʻakinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate koe.
Thy hand will reach all thy enemies: thy right hand will reach those that hate thee.
9 Te ke ngaohi ʻakinautolu ke hangē ko e ngotoʻumu vela ʻi he ʻaho ʻo hoʻo tuputāmaki: ʻe fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu ʻe Sihova ʻi hono houhau, ʻe keina ʻo ʻosi ʻakinautolu ʻe he afi.
Thou wilt render them as a fiery oven at the time of thy anger: the Lord in his wrath will destroy them, and a fire will devour them.
10 Te ke fakaʻauha honau fua mei he fonua, mo honau hako mei he ngaahi fānau ʻae tangata.
Their fruit wilt thou cause to perish from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
11 He naʻa nau tokanga ke fai kovi kiate koe: naʻa nau fakatupu ʻae mahalo kovi, ʻaia naʻe ʻikai te nau faʻa fai.
For they directed against thee evil: they devised a mischievous purpose, which they were not able to perform.
12 Ko ia te ke fai ke fulituʻa ʻakinautolu, ʻoka ke ka ʻai ʻae ngaahi ngahau ki he uka ki he mata ʻokinautolu.
For thou wilt make them turn their back; upon thy bow-strings thou wilt make ready [thy arrows] against their face.
13 Ke ke māʻolunga, ʻE Sihova, ʻi he mālohi ʻoʻou: ko ia te mau hiva mo fakamālō ai ki hoʻo māfimafi.
Exalt thyself, O Lord, in thy strength; [and] we will sing and praise thy power.
