< Saame 2 >
1 Ko e hā ʻoku matalili ai ʻae hiteni? Pea fakalaulauloto ʻae kakai ki he meʻa noa pē?
Why are the nations in tumultuous agitation, and [why] do the peoples meditate a vain thing?
2 ʻOku tuʻu hake fakataha ʻae ngaahi tuʻi ʻo māmani, pea fakakaukau fakataha ʻae kau pule kia Sihova mo ia kuo ne pani, ʻo pehē,
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the princes plot together, against Jehovah and against his anointed:
3 “Ke tau motuhi ʻena ngaahi haʻi pea liʻaki ʻena ngaahi afo ʻiate kitautolu.”
Let us break their bonds asunder, and cast away their cords from us!
4 Ko ia ʻoku nofo ʻi he ngaahi langi ʻe kata ia: ʻe manuki ʻa Sihova kiate kinautolu.
He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 Pea te ne toki folofola kiate kinautolu ʻi hono houhau, pea fakamamahiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi hono tuputāmaki lahi.
Then will he speak to them in his anger, and in his fierce displeasure will he terrify them:
6 Ka kuo u fakanofo ʻeku tuʻi ki Saione, ko e moʻunga ʻo ʻeku māʻoniʻoni.
And I have anointed my king upon Zion, the hill of my holiness.
7 “Te u fakahā ʻae tuʻutuʻuni:” naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, “Ko hoku ʻAlo koe kuo u fakatupu koe ʻi he ʻaho ni.
I will declare the decree: Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; I this day have begotten thee.
8 Ke ke lea kiate au, pea te u foaki ʻae ngaahi hiteni ko ho tofiʻa, mo e ngaahi ngataʻanga kotoa pē ʻo māmani moʻou.
Ask of me, and I will give thee nations for an inheritance, and for thy possession the ends of the earth:
9 Te ke maumauʻi ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae vaʻa ukamea; pea te ke laiki ke lailai ʻakinautolu ʻo hangē ko e ipu ʻumea.
Thou shalt break them with a sceptre of iron, as a potter's vessel thou shalt dash them in pieces.
10 Pea ko eni, ke poto ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi tuʻi: pea maʻu ʻae akonaki ʻakimoutolu ʻae kau fakamaau ʻo māmani.
And now, O kings, be ye wise, be admonished, ye judges of the earth.
11 Tauhi ʻa Sihova ʻi he manavahē, pea fiefia ʻi he tetetete.
Serve Jehovah with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 ʻUma ki he ʻAlo, telia naʻa houhau ia, pea te mou ʻauha mei he hala, ʻoka tupu siʻi pe hono houhau. ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku falala kiate ia.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish in the way, though his anger burn but a little. Blessed are all who have their trust in him.
