< Saame 149 >
1 Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Hiva kia Sihova ʻaki ʻae hiva foʻou, mo e fakamālō kiate ia ʻi he fakataha ʻoe kakai māʻoniʻoni.
Hallelujah. Sing to the Lord a new song, sound his praise where the faithful are gathered.
2 Ke fiefia ʻa ʻIsileli ʻiate ia naʻa ne ngaohi ia: ke fiefia ʻae fānau ʻa Saione ʻi honau Tuʻi.
Let Israel rejoice in its maker, sons of Zion exult in their king.
3 Kenau fakamālō ki hono huafa ʻi he meʻe: kenau hiva fakamālō kiate ia ʻaki ʻae lali iiki mo e haʻape.
Let them praise his name in the dance, making music with lyre and with timbrel.
4 He ʻoku fiefia ʻa Sihova ʻi hono kakai te ne teuteu ʻae angamalū ʻaki ʻae fakamoʻui.
For the Lord delights in his people, adorning the humble with victory.
5 Ke fiefia ʻae kakai māʻoniʻoni ʻi he nāunau: kenau hiva kalanga, ʻi honau ngaahi mohenga.
Let the faithful exult and extol him with glad ringing cries all night long.
6 Ke ʻi honau ngutu ʻae fakamālō lahi ki he ʻOtua, pea ʻi honau nima ʻae heletā ʻoku fakatoumata;
High praises of God in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand:
7 Ke ʻatu ʻae totongi ki he hiteni, mo e ngaahi tautea ki he kakai:
on the heathen to execute vengeance, and chastisement sore on the nations,
8 Ke haʻisia honau ngaahi tuʻi ʻaki ʻae ukamea fihifihi, mo honau houʻeiki ʻaki ʻae ngaahi haʻi ukamea;
binding their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron,
9 Ke fai kiate kinautolu ʻae fakamaau kuo tohi: kuo pehē ʻae hakeakiʻi ʻo ʻene kakai māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
to execute on them the doom that is written. This is the glory of all his faithful. Hallelujah.
