< Saame 148 >
1 Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova mei he ngaahi langi: fakamālō ki heʻene ʻafio ʻi he ngaahi potu māʻolunga.
Praise Yahweh! Praise him, from up in heaven; praise him from way up in the sky!
2 Mou fakamālō kiate ia, ʻa ʻene kau ʻāngelo kotoa pē: mou fakamālō kiate ia, ʻa ʻene ngaahi kautau kotoa pē.
All you angels who belong to him, praise him! All you who are in the armies of heaven, praise him!
3 Mo fakamālō kiate ia, ʻae laʻā mo e māhina: mou fakamālō kiate ia, ʻae ngaahi fetuʻu kotoa pē ʻoe maama.
Sun and moon, [you also] praise him! You shining stars, you praise him!
4 Mou fakamālō kiate ia, ʻae ngaahi langi ʻoe ngaahi langi, mo e ngaahi vai ʻoku māʻolunga ʻi he ngaahi langi.
You highest heavens, praise him! And you waters that are high above the sky, praise him!
5 Kenau fakamālō ki he huafa ʻo Sihova: he naʻe fekau ʻe ia, pea naʻe fakatupu ʻakinautolu.
I want [all of] these to praise Yahweh [MTY] because by commanding [them to exist], he created them.
6 Pea kuo ne fokotuʻumaʻu ʻakinautolu ʻo lauikuonga pea taʻengata. Kuo ne tuʻutuʻuni pea ʻe ʻikai mole ia.
He determined the places where they should be [in the sky], and he commanded that they should be there forever. They cannot disobey that command!
7 Fakamālō kia Sihova mei māmani, ʻae fanga talākoni, mo e ngaahi loloto kotoa pē:
And everything on the earth, praise Yahweh! You [huge] sea monsters and [everything else that is] deep [in the ocean],
8 ʻAe afi, mo e ʻuha maka; ʻae ʻuha hinehina, mo e ngaahi kakapu; ʻae matangi mālohi ʻoku fakamoʻoni ki heʻene folofola:
and fire and hail, and snow and frost, and strong winds that obey what he commands, [I tell] all of you to praise Yahweh!
9 ʻAe ngaahi moʻunga, mo e ngaahi foʻi moʻunga kotoa pē; ʻae ngaahi ʻakau fua, mo e ngaahi sita kotoa pē:
Hills and mountains, fruit trees and cedar [trees],
10 ʻAe fanga manu hehengi, mo e manu lalata kotoa pē; ʻae ngaahi meʻa totolo, mo e manupuna:
all the wild animals and all [you] cattle, and the (reptiles/creatures that scurry across the ground), and [all] the birds, [I tell all of them to praise Yahweh]!
11 ʻAe ngaahi tuʻi ʻo māmani, mo e kakai kotoa pē; ʻae ngaahi ʻeiki, mo e kau fakamaau kotoa pē ʻo māmani:
You kings on this earth and all the people [that you rule], you princes and all [other] rulers,
12 ʻAe kau tangata talavou, mo e kau taʻahine; ʻae kau mātuʻa, mo e fānau:
you young men and young women, you old people and children, [everyone, praise Yahweh!]
13 Ke nau fakamālō ki he huafa ʻo Sihova: he ko hono huafa pē ʻoku māʻolunga; mo hono nāunau ʻoku māʻolunga hake ia ʻi māmani mo e langi.
I want them [all] to praise Yahweh [MTY] because he is greater than anyone else. His glory is greater than [anything on] the earth or [in] heaven.
14 ʻOku hiki hake foki ʻe ia ʻae nifo ʻo hono kakai, ko ia ʻoku fakamālō ai ʻa ʻene kakai māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē; ʻio, ʻa hono kakai ko ʻIsileli, ko e kakai ʻoku ofi kiate ia. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
He caused us, his people, to be strong in order that we, his people, we Israeli people (who are very precious to him/whom he loves very much), would praise him. So praise Yahweh!
