< Saame 146 >
1 Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Fakamālō kia Sihova, ʻE hoku laumālie.
Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.
2 Te u fakamālō kia Sihova ʻi heʻeku kei moʻui: te u hiva fakamālō ki hoku ʻOtua ʻi he lolotonga ʻo ʻeku moʻui.
I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.
3 ʻOua naʻa mou falala ki he ngaahi ʻeiki, pe ki he foha ʻoe tangata, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai ha fakamoʻui ʻiate ia.
[You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].
4 ʻOku mole atu ʻene mānava, pea ʻoku foki ia ki he kelekele; ʻoku mole ai ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻene ngaahi mahalo.
And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.
5 ʻOku monūʻia ia ʻaia ʻoku ne maʻu ʻae ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope ko hono tokoni, pea ko ʻene ʻamanaki lelei ʻoku ʻia Sihova ko hono ʻOtua:
But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.
6 ʻAia naʻa ne ngaohi ʻae langi, mo māmani, ʻae tahi mo e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ai: pea ʻoku ne tauhi ʻae moʻoni ʻo lauikuonga:
He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.
7 ʻAia ʻoku ne fai ʻae fakamaau koeʻuhi ko e kakai fakamālohia: ʻoku ne foaki ʻae meʻakai ki he fiekaia. ʻOku vete ʻe Sihova ʻae kau pōpula:
He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.
8 ʻOku fakaʻā ʻe Sihova ʻae kui: ʻoku fokotuʻu ʻe Sihova ʻakinautolu kuo mapelu ki lalo: ʻoku ʻofa ʻa Sihova ki he angatonu:
Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].
9 ʻOku fakamoʻui ʻe Sihova ʻae kakai muli; ʻoku ne fakafiemālieʻi ʻae tamai mate mo e fefine kuo mate hono husepāniti: ka ko e hala ʻoe angahala ʻoku ne fulihi ia.
Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].
10 ʻE pule ʻa Sihova ʻo taʻengata, ʻio, ko ho ʻOtua, ʻE Saione, ʻi he ngaahi toʻutangata kotoa pē. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
