< Saame 14 >
1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Kuo pehē ʻe he vale ʻi hono loto, “ʻOku ʻikai ha ʻOtua.” Kuo kovi ʻakinautolu, kuo nau fai ʻae ngaahi ngāue fakalielia, ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻoku fai lelei.
[For the Chief Musician. By David.] The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt. They do abominable works. There is none who does good.
2 Naʻe ʻafio hifo ʻe Sihova mei he langi ki he fānau ʻae tangata, ke ʻafio pē ʻoku ai ha niʻihi ʻoku ʻilo, mo kumi ki he ʻOtua.
YHWH looks down from heaven on the descendants of Adam, to see if there are any who are wise, who seek after God.
3 Kuo ʻalu hē kotoa pē, kuo nau hoko ʻo fakalielia kotoa pē: ʻoku ʻikai ha tokotaha ʻoku fai lelei, ʻoku ʻikai ʻaupito ha taha.
They have all turned away. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one.
4 “ʻOku ʻikai ha ʻilo ʻiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fai kovi? ʻAkinautolu ʻoku kai ʻo ʻosi hoku kakai ʻo hangē ko ʻenau kai mā, pea ʻoku ʻikai te nau ui kia Sihova.”
Have all evildoers no knowledge, who eat up my people as they eat bread? They do not call on YHWH.
5 Pea naʻa nau manavahē ai ʻi he manavahē lahi: he ʻoku ʻi he toʻutangata ʻoe māʻoniʻoni ʻae ʻOtua.
There they are utterly terrified, for God is in the generation of the righteous.
6 Naʻa mou manukiʻi ʻae fakakaukau ʻoe masiva, ka ko hono hūfanga ʻa Sihova.
You would frustrate the plans of the lowly, but YHWH is his refuge.
7 Ko hai te ne foaki mei Saione ʻae fakamoʻui ki ʻIsileli? ʻOka toe ʻomi ʻe Sihova hono kakai kuo pōpula, ʻe fiefia ai ʻa Sēkope, pea nekeneka ʻa ʻIsileli.
Oh that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion. When YHWH restores the fortunes of his people, may Jacob rejoice, may Israel be glad.
