< Saame 13 >
1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ʻE Sihova, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa? Mo hoʻo kei fakangalongaloʻi au? Ke taʻengata? ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa ʻo hoʻo fufū ho fofonga ʻiate au?
To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David. How long, Jehovah, wilt thou forget me for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
2 ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo ʻeku lauloto mo hoku laumālie, ʻo loto mamahi pē ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē? ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo e fielahi kiate au ʻa hoku fili?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
3 ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, ke ke tokanga mai pea ongoʻi au: fakamaama hoku mata, telia naʻaku mohe ʻi he mohe ʻoe mate;
Consider, answer me, O Jehovah my God! lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the [sleep of] death;
4 Telia naʻa pehē ʻe hoku fili, “Kuo u ikuna ia;” pea fiefia ʻakinautolu ʻoku fakamamahiʻi au ʻo kau ka ngaue.
Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him! [lest] mine adversaries be joyful when I am moved.
5 Ka kuo u falala ki hoʻo ʻaloʻofa; ʻo fiefia hoku loto ʻi hoʻo fakamoʻui.
As for me, I have confided in thy loving-kindness; my heart shall be joyful in thy salvation.
6 Te u hiva kia Sihova, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻene fai lelei lahi ʻaupito kiate au.
I will sing unto Jehovah, for he hath dealt bountifully with me.
