Saame 13

1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻE Sihova, ʻe fēfē hono fuoloa? Mo hoʻo kei fakangalongaloʻi au? Ke taʻengata? ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa ʻo hoʻo fufū ho fofonga ʻiate au?

For the end, a Psalm of David. How long, O Lord, will you forget me? for ever? how long will you turn away your face from me?

2 ‌ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo ʻeku lauloto mo hoku laumālie, ʻo loto mamahi pē ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē? ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo e fielahi kiate au ʻa hoku fili?

How long shall I take counsel in my soul, [having] sorrows in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 ‌ʻE Sihova ko hoku ʻOtua, ke ke tokanga mai pea ongoʻi au: fakamaama hoku mata, telia naʻaku mohe ʻi he mohe ʻoe mate;

Look on me, listen to me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep in death;

4 Telia naʻa pehē ʻe hoku fili, “Kuo u ikuna ia;” pea fiefia ʻakinautolu ʻoku fakamamahiʻi au ʻo kau ka ngaue.

lest at any time mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him: my persecutors will exult if ever I should be moved.

5 Ka kuo u falala ki hoʻo ʻaloʻofa; ʻo fiefia hoku loto ʻi hoʻo fakamoʻui.

But I have hoped in your mercy; my heart shall exult in your salvation.

6 Te u hiva kia Sihova, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻene fai lelei lahi ʻaupito kiate au.

I will sing to the Lord who has dealt bountifully with me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord most high.
