< Saame 129 >
1 Ko e Hiva ʻae ʻalu hake. ʻOku totonu ke lea ni ʻa ʻIsileli, Kuo liunga lahi ʻenau fakamamahiʻi au talu ʻeku kei talavou:
A Song of Ascents. Many times they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say:
2 “Kuo liunga lahi ʻenau fakamamahiʻi au talu ʻeku talavou: ka naʻe ʻikai tenau mālohi kiate au.
many times they have afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 Naʻe keli ʻae kau tangata keli ʻi hoku tuʻa: naʻa nau ngaohi ke lōloa ʻenau ngaahi keli.
The ploughers ploughed on my back. They made their furrows long.
4 ʻOku angatonu ʻa Sihova: kuo tuʻusi ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi afo ʻae kakai angahala.”
The LORD is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.
5 Tuku ke puputuʻu pea foki kimui ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku fehiʻa ki Saione.
Let them be disappointed and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.
6 Tuku kenau tatau mo e mohuku ʻi he tatā ʻoe fale, ʻaia ʻoku mae ʻi he teʻeki ai ke lahi ia:
Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up,
7 ʻAia ʻoku ʻikai fakapito ʻaki ʻe he tangata tuʻusi ʻa hono nima; pe ko e fatafata ʻo ia ʻoku ne nonoʻo ʻae ngaahi ʻū mohuku.
with which the reaper doesn’t fill his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.
8 Pea ʻoku ʻikai lea ʻakinautolu ʻoku ʻalu ʻi ai, ʻo pehē, “Ke ʻiate kimoutolu ʻae monūʻia meia Sihova: ʻoku mau tāpuaki ʻakimoutolu ʻi he huafa ʻo Sihova.”
Neither do those who go by say, “The blessing of the LORD be on you. We bless you in the LORD’s name.”
