1 Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Fakamālō, ʻakimoutolu ko e kau tamaioʻeiki ʻa Sihova, fakamālō ki he huafa ʻo Sihova.
Praise Yahweh! You people who serve Yahweh, praise him! Praise (him/his name)!
2 Fakafetaʻi ki he huafa ʻo Sihova mei he ʻaho ni ʻo taʻengata.
Yahweh should be praised now and forever!
3 Ke fakamālō ki he huafa ʻo Sihova, mei he hopo hake ʻoe laʻā ʻo aʻu ki heʻene tō hifo.
People who live in the east and people who live in the west, everyone, should praise Yahweh [MTY]!
4 ʻOku māʻolunga hake ʻa Sihova ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē, mo hono nāunau ʻoku māʻolunga hake ʻi he ngaahi langi.
Yahweh rules [MTY] over all the nations, and high in the heavens he shows that his glory is very great.
5 Ko hai ʻoku na tatau mo Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua, ʻaia ʻoku ʻafio ʻi ʻolunga,
There is no one [RHQ] who is like Yahweh, our God, who lives/sits/rules in the highest heaven,
6 ʻOku ne fakamoʻulaloaʻi ia ke ʻafio ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ʻi he langi, pea mo māmani!
and looks far down through the heavens and sees the [people on] the earth.
7 ʻOku ne fokotuʻu hake ʻae masiva mei he efu, mo ne hiki hake ʻae paea mei he tuʻunga ʻotoʻota;
[Sometimes] he lifts poor people up [so that they no longer sit in] the dirt; he helps needy [people so that they no longer sit on] heaps of ashes
8 Koeʻuhi ke ne fakataha mo e ngaahi ʻeiki, pea ke kautaha mo e houʻeiki ʻo hono kakai.
and causes them to [be honored] by sitting next to princes, the sons of the kings [who rule] their people.
9 ʻOku ne ngaohi ʻae fefine paʻa ke tauhi ʻae fale, pea ke hoko ʻi he fiefia ko e faʻē ʻae fānau. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
He also enables women who have no children to have a family; he causes them to be happy mothers. Praise Yahweh!
