< Saame 11 >

1 Ki he Takimuʻa, ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. ‌ʻOku ou falala kia Sihova: pea ʻoku fēfē hoʻomou pehē ki hoku laumālie, “Puna ʻo hangē ko e manu ki ho moʻunga?
[For the Chief Musician. By David.] In YHWH, I take refuge. How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain."
2 He ʻoku teke ʻe he angahala ʻenau kaufana, ʻoku nau ʻai ʻenau ngaahi ngahau ki he uka, koeʻuhi ke nau fana fakafufū pē ki he angatonu ʻi loto.
For, look, the wicked bend their bows. They set their arrows on the strings, that they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.
3 Kapau ʻe ʻauha ʻae ngaahi tuʻunga, ko e hā ʻe faʻa fai ʻe he kakai māʻoniʻoni?”
If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?
4 ‌ʻOku ʻi hono fale māʻoniʻoni ʻa Sihova, ko e ʻafioʻanga ʻa Sihova ʻoku ʻi he langi: ʻoku ʻafioʻi ʻe hono fofonga, ʻoku ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻe hono lauʻifofonga, ʻae ngaahi fānau ʻae tangata.
YHWH is in his holy temple. YHWH is on his throne in heaven. His eyes look upon the poor. His eyes examine the descendants of Adam.
5 ‌ʻOku ʻahiʻahi ʻe Sihova ʻae māʻoniʻoni: ka ko e angakovi mo ia ʻoku manako ki he fakamālohi ʻoku fehiʻa hono laumālie ki ai.
YHWH examines the righteous, but the wicked and the one who loves violence his soul hates.
6 Te ne fakaʻauha ki he ngaahi angahala ʻae ngaahi tauhele, ko e afi, mo e sulifa, mo e afā fakailifia ʻaupito: ko e ʻinasi ia ʻo ʻenau ipu.
On the wicked he will rain blazing coals; fire, sulfur, and scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
7 He ʻoku ʻofa ʻa Sihova ko e māʻoniʻoni ki he māʻoniʻoni; ʻoku ʻafio ʻe hono fofonga ki he angatonu.
For YHWH is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.
