< Saame 106 >

1 Mou fakamālō kia Sihova. Mou ʻatu ʻae fakafetaʻi kia Sihova; he ʻoku angalelei ia: koeʻuhi ʻoku tolonga ʻo taʻengata ʻa ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks to the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
2 Ko hai ʻe faʻa fakamatala ki he ngaahi ngāue lahi ʻa Sihova? Ko hai ʻe faʻa fakahā ʻae fakamālō kotoa pē kiate ia?
Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? [who] can show forth all his praise?
3 ‌ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku tokanga ki he fakamaau, mo ia ʻoku fai māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
Blessed [are] they that keep judgment, [and] he that doeth righteousness at all times.
4 ‌ʻE Sihova, ke ke manatuʻi au ʻaki ʻae ʻofa ʻaia ʻoku ke ʻofa ʻaki ki hoʻo kakai: ke ke ʻaʻahi mai kiate au ʻaki hoʻo fakamoʻui;
Remember me, O LORD, with the favor [that thou bearest to] thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
5 Koeʻuhi ke u mamata ki he lelei ʻo ia kuo ke fili, koeʻuhi ke u fiefia ʻi he fiefia ʻo ho puleʻanga, pea u vikiviki ai fakataha mo ho tofiʻa.
That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thy inheritance.
6 Ko kimautolu mo ʻemau ngaahi tamai kuo mau fai angahala, kuo mau fai ʻae ngaahi hia, kuo mau fai kovi.
We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
7 Naʻe ʻikai ʻilo ʻe heʻemau ngaahi tamai hoʻo ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻi ʻIsipite; naʻe ʻikai tenau manatu ki hono lahi ʻo hoʻo ngaahi ʻaloʻofa; ka naʻa nau fakahouhau kiate ia ʻi he tahi, ʻio, ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked [him] at the sea, [even] at the Red sea.
8 Ka naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu koeʻuhi ko hono huafa, koeʻuhi ke ne fakaʻilo ʻa hono mālohi lahi.
Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.
9 Naʻe valoki foki ʻe ia ʻae Tahi Kulokula, pea mōmoa ia: ko ia naʻa ne tataki ʻakinautolu ʻi he loloto, ʻo hangē ko e toafa.
He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
10 Pea naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻo ia naʻe fehiʻa kiate kinautolu, mo ne huhuʻi ʻakinautolu mei he nima ʻoe fili.
And he saved them from the hand of him that hated [them], and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11 Pea naʻe lōmakiʻi honau ngaahi fili ʻaki ʻae ngaahi vai: pea naʻe ʻikai hao ha tokotaha ʻiate kinautolu.
And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.
They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:
14 Ka naʻa nau holi kovi ʻaupito ʻi he toafa, pea ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻae ʻOtua ʻi he potu lala.
But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.
And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
16 Naʻa nau meheka foki kia Mōsese ʻi he loto ʻapitanga, mo ʻElone ko e tokotaha māʻoniʻoni ʻa Sihova.
They envied Moses also in the camp, [and] Aaron the saint of the LORD.
17 Naʻe mafahi ʻae kelekele pea folo hifo ai ʻa Tatani, mo ʻufiʻufi ai ʻae kakai ʻo ʻEpilami.
The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
18 Pea naʻe tutu ai ʻae afi ʻi honau kakai; pea vela ke ʻosi ʻe he ulo afi ʻae kau angahala.
And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
19 Naʻa nau ngaohi ʻae fakatātā ʻoe ʻuhikiʻi pulu ʻi Holepi, pea lotu ki he fakatātā koula.
They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the molten image.
20 Naʻe pehē ʻenau liliu honau nāunau, ki he fakatātā ʻoe pulu ʻaia ʻoku kai mohuku.
Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.
21 Naʻa nau fakangalongaloʻi ʻae ʻOtua ko honau fakamoʻui, ʻaia naʻe fai ʻae ngaahi meʻa lahi ʻi ʻIsipite;
They forgot God their savior, who had done great things in Egypt;
22 Ko e ngaahi ngāue fakaofo ʻi he fonua ʻo Hami, mo e ngaahi meʻa fakailifia ʻi he Tahi Kulokula.
Wondrous works in the land of Ham, [and] terrible things by the Red sea.
Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy [them].
24 ‌ʻIo, naʻa nau fehiʻa ki he fonua lelei, naʻe ʻikai tenau tui ki heʻene folofola:
Yes, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:
25 Ka naʻa nau lāunga ʻi honau ngaahi fale fehikitaki, ʻo taʻetokanga ki he leʻo ʻo Sihova.
But murmured in their tents, [and] hearkened not to the voice of the LORD.
26 Ko ia naʻa ne hiki hake ai hono nima kiate kinautolu, ke tulaki ʻakinautolu ʻi he toafa:
Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:
27 Ke tulaki foki honau hako ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga, mo fakahēʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi he ngaahi fonua.
To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
28 Naʻa nau ului foki kia Peali-Peoli, mo nau kai ʻae ngaahi feilaulau ʻoe mate.
They joined themselves also to Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29 Ko ia naʻa nau fakahouhauʻi ia ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi filioʻi: pea naʻe ʻoho mai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha kiate kinautolu.
Thus they provoked [him] to anger with their inventions: and the plague broke in upon them.
30 Pea naʻe toki tuʻu hake ʻa Finiasi, ʻo fai ʻae fakamaau: pea naʻe lolomi ai ʻae mahaki fakaʻauha.
Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and [so] the plague was stayed.
31 Pea naʻe lau ia kiate ia ko e māʻoniʻoni ʻi he ngaahi toʻutangata kotoa pē ʻo lauikuonga.
And that was counted to him for righteousness to all generations for ever.
32 Naʻa nau fakahouhau kiate ia foki ʻi he ngaahi vai ʻoe fekeʻikeʻi, pea hoko ʻae kovi kia Mōsese koeʻuhi ko kinautolu:
They angered [him] also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:
33 Ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau fakatupu hono loto, ko ia naʻa ne lea ʻaki ʻae lea taʻengali ʻe hono loungutu.
Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.
34 Naʻe ʻikai tenau fakaʻauha ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻaia naʻe fekau ʻe Sihova kiate kinautolu:
They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:
35 Ka naʻa nau nofo fakataha mo e hiteni, pea nau ʻilo ʻenau ngaahi ngāue.
But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.
And they served their idols: which were a snare to them.
37 ‌ʻIo, naʻa nau feilaulau ʻaki honau ngaahi foha mo honau ngaahi ʻofefine ki he kau tēvolo,
Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons,
38 Mo lilingi ʻae toto māʻoniʻoni, ko e toto ʻo honau ngaahi foha mo honau ngaahi ʻofefine, ʻakinautolu naʻa nau feilaulau ʻaki ki he ngaahi tamapua ʻo ʻi he toto.
And shed innocent blood, [even] the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.
39 Pea naʻe fakaʻuliʻi pehē ʻakinautolu ʻi heʻenau ngaahi ngāue, pea nau fai feʻauaki ʻi heʻenau ngaahi filioʻi.
Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went astray with their own inventions.
40 Ko ia naʻe tupu ai ʻae houhau ʻo Sihova ki hono kakai, pea ne fākaliliʻa ai ki hono tofiʻa ʻoʻona.
Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.
And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
42 Pea naʻe fakamālohiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻe honau ngaahi fili, pea fakamoʻulaloa ʻakinautolu ki honau lalo nima.
Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.
43 Naʻe liunga lahi ʻene fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu; ka naʻa nau fakahouhauʻi ia ʻi heʻenau fakakaukau, pea naʻe fakavaivaiʻi ʻakinautolu koeʻuhi ko ʻenau hia.
Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked [him] with their counsel; and were brought low for their iniquity.
44 Ka naʻa ne tokanga ki heʻenau mamahi, ʻi heʻene ongoʻi ʻenau tangi:
Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
45 Pea ne manatuʻi ʻa ʻene fuakava mo kinautolu, pea ne fakatomala ʻo fakatatau mo hono lahi ʻo ʻene ʻaloʻofa.
And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.
He made them also to be pitied by all those that carried them captives.
47 Fakamoʻui ʻakimautolu, ʻE Sihova ko homau ʻOtua, pea tānaki ʻakimautolu mei he lotolotonga ʻoe hiteni, ke mau fakafetaʻi ki ho huafa māʻoniʻoni, pea hanuhanu ʻi he fakamālō kiate koe.
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks to thy holy name, [and] to triumph in thy praise.
48 Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova koe ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli talu mei muʻa ʻo aʻu ʻo taʻengata; pea tuku ke lea pehē ʻe he kakai kotoa pē ʻEmeni. Mou fakamālō kia Sihova.
Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.
