< Saame 103 >
1 Ko e Saame ʻa Tevita. Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova ʻa hoku laumālie: pea mo ia kotoa pē ʻoku ʻiate au, fakafetaʻi ki hono huafa māʻoniʻoni.
[I tell] myself that I should praise Yahweh. I will praise him [MTY] with all of my inner being, [because] he [MTY] is holy.
2 Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, ʻa hoku laumālie, pea ʻoua naʻa ngalo ʻa ʻene ngaahi meʻaʻofa kotoa pē:
[I tell] myself that I should praise Yahweh and never forget all the kind things he has done for me:
3 ʻAia ʻoku ne fakamolemole hoʻo ngaahi hia kotoa pē; mo ne fakamoʻui ho ngaahi mahaki kotoa pē;
He forgives all my sins, and he heals me from all my diseases/sicknesses;
4 ʻAia ʻoku ne huhuʻi hoʻo moʻui mei he fakaʻauha; ʻo ne tatā ʻaki koe ʻae manavaʻofa mo e ʻaloʻofa ongongofua;
he keeps me from dying [MTY], and blesses me by faithfully loving me and acting mercifully to me.
5 ʻAia ʻoku ne fakamākona ʻaki ho ngutu ʻae ngaahi meʻa lelei; ko ia kuo toe tupulaki ai ho talavou ʻo hangē ko e ʻikale.
He gives me good things during my entire life. He makes me feel young and strong like eagles.
6 ʻOku fai ʻe Sihova ʻae māʻoniʻoni mo e fakamaau kiate kinautolu kotoa pē kuo fakamālohia.
Yahweh judges justly and (vindicates/does what is right for) all those who have been treated unfairly.
7 Naʻa ne fakahā hono ngaahi hala kia Mōsese, mo ʻene ngaahi ngāue ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli.
[Long ago] he revealed to Moses what he planned to do; he showed to the [ancestors of us] Israeli people the mighty things that he was able to do.
8 ʻOku manavaʻofa mo angalelei ʻa Sihova, ʻoku faʻa kātaki, pea mohu ʻaloʻofa.
Yahweh acts mercifully and kindly; he does not quickly (get angry/punish us) [when we sin]; he is always [showing us that he] faithfully loves us.
9 ʻE ʻikai te ne valoki maʻuaipē: pea ʻe ʻikai tuputāmaki ʻo taʻengata.
He will not keep rebuking us, and he will not remain angry forever.
10 Naʻe ʻikai fai ʻe ia kiate kitautolu ʻo fakatatau mo ʻetau ngaahi angahala; pe totongi kiate kitautolu ʻo fakatatau mo ʻetau ngaahi hia.
He punishes us for our sins, but he does not punish us [severely] as we deserve [DOU]!
11 Kae hangē ko hono māʻolunga ʻoe langi ki māmani, ʻoku pehē hono lahi ʻo ʻene ʻaloʻofa kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau manavahē kiate ia.
The skies are very high above the earth, and Yahweh’s faithful love for all those who revere him is just as great.
12 ʻOku hangē ko hono vā mamaʻo ʻoe potu hahake mei he potu lulunga, ʻoku pehē hono mamaʻo ʻo ʻene ʻave ʻetau ngaahi angahala ʻiate kitautolu.
He has taken away [the guilt for] [MTY] our sins, taking it as far from us as the east is from the west.
13 Pea hangē ʻoku manavaʻofa ʻae tamai ki heʻene fānau, ʻoku pehē ʻae manavaʻofa ʻa Sihova kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau manavahē kiate ia.
Just like parents act mercifully toward their children, Yahweh is kind to those who revere him.
14 He ʻoku ne ʻiloʻi hotau anga; ʻoku ne manatu ko e efu pe ʻakitautolu.
He knows what our bodies are like; he remembers that [he created us from] dirt, and so we quickly fail [to do what pleases him] [MET].
15 Pea ko e tangata, ʻoku tatau hono ngaahi ʻaho mo e mohuku: pea hangē ko e fisiʻi ʻakau ʻoe ngoue hono lau maʻuiʻui.
We humans do not live forever [SIM]; we are like grass [SIM] [that withers and dies]. We are like wild flowers: They bloom [for a short while],
16 He ʻoku ʻalu atu ki ai ʻae matangi, pea kuo ʻikai ia; pea ʻe ʻikai siʻi toe ʻilo ia ʻi hono potu.
but then the [hot] wind blows over them, and they disappear; no one sees them again.
17 Ka ko e ʻaloʻofa ʻa Sihova ʻoku talu mei muʻa ʻo aʻu ʻo taʻengata kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau manavahē kiate ia, pea ko ʻene māʻoniʻoni ki he fānau ʻae fānau;
But Yahweh will faithfully keep loving forever all those who revere him. He will act fairly to our children and to their children;
18 Kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau tauhi ʻene fuakava, pea mo kinautolu ʻoku nau manatu ki heʻene ngaahi fekau ke fai ki ai.
he will act that way to all those who obey the agreement he made with them [to bless them if they did what he told them to do], to all those who obey what he has commanded.
19 Kuo teuteu ʻe Sihova hono ʻafioʻanga ʻi he ngaahi langi; pea ʻoku pule hono puleʻanga ki he meʻa kotoa pē.
Yahweh made/caused the heavens to be the place where he rules [MTY]; from there he rules over everything.
20 Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova ʻakimoutolu ko ʻene kau ʻāngelo, ʻoku lahi homou mālohi, pea ʻoku mou fai ʻene ngaahi fekau, ʻo fakafanongo ki he leʻo ʻo ʻene folofola.
You angels who belong to Yahweh, praise him! You are powerful creatures/beings who do what he tells you to do; you obey what he commands.
21 Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ko ʻene ngaahi kautau; ʻakimoutolu ko ʻene kau faifekau, ʻoku mou fai ki hono finangalo.
Praise Yahweh, you armies/thousands of angels who serve him and do what he desires!
22 Fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, ʻa ʻene ngaahi ngāue kotoa pē ʻi he potu kotoa pē ʻo hono puleʻanga: fakafetaʻi kia Sihova, ʻa hoku laumālie.
All you things that Yahweh has created, praise him; praise him in every place where he rules, everywhere! And I [also] will praise Yahweh!
