1 Pea naʻe tuʻu hake ʻa Iliasipi ko e taulaʻeiki lahi mo hono ngaahi kāinga ko e kau taulaʻeiki, ʻonau langaʻi ʻae matapā sipi; naʻa nau fakatapui ia, pea fokotuʻu hono ngaahi matapā ʻo ia; ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki he fale māʻolunga ʻo Mea naʻa nau fakatapui ia, ʻo aʻu ki he fale māʻolunga ʻo Hananili.
[(This is a list/These are the names) of the people who helped to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem]. Eliashib the Supreme Priest and the other priests began to rebuild it at the Sheep Gate. They also put the gates in their places. They built the wall as far as the Tower of 100 Soldiers and [further north] to the Tower of Hananel, and they dedicated it to God.
2 Pea naʻe hoko mo ia ʻae langa naʻe fai ʻe he kau tangata ʻo Seliko. Pea hoko mo kinautolu ʻae langa naʻe fai ʻe Sakua ko e foha ʻo Imili.
Next to them, [beyond the Tower of Hananel, ] men from Jericho built [part of the wall]. Next to them, Zaccur, the son of Imri, built [part of the wall].
3 Ka naʻe langaʻi ʻae matapā ika ʻe he ngaahi foha ʻo Hasina, ʻaia naʻa ne fakatoka ʻa hono ngaahi fuʻu ʻakau lalava, pea fokotuʻu hake ʻa hono ngaahi matapā, mo hono ngaahi loka mo hono ngaahi ʻakau fakamaʻu.
The sons of Hassenaah built the Fish Gate. The put in their places the wooden beams above the gates, and also the doors, the bolts, and the bars [for locking the gate].
4 Pea naʻe hoko mo kinautolu ʻi he fai ʻae fakafoʻou ʻa Milemoti ko e foha ʻo Ulisa, ko e foha ʻo Kose. Pea naʻe hoko mo kinautolu ʻi he fai ʻoe fakafoʻou ʻa Mesulami, ko e foha ʻo Pelakia, ko e foha ʻo Misesapeli. Pea hoko mo ia ʻi he fai ʻoe fakafoʻou ʻa Satoki ko e foha ʻo Paʻana.
Next to them, Meremoth, the son of Uriah and grandson of Hakkoz, repaired [the next part of the wall]. Next to him, Meshullam, the son of Berekiah and grandson of Meshezabel, repaired [the next part of the wall]. Next to him, Zadok the son of Baana repaired the next part of the wall.
5 Pea naʻe hoko mo kinautolu ʻae kakai Tikoa ʻi he fai ʻae langa; ka ko honau ngaahi houʻeiki naʻe ʻikai te nau ʻai honau kia ki he ngāue ʻa honau ʻOtua.
Next to him, the men from Tekoa [town] repaired [part of the wall], but the leaders of Tekoa refused to do the work that their boss/supervisor assigned to them.
6 Pea ko e motuʻa matapā naʻe langaʻi ia ʻe Sihoiata ko e foha ʻo Pasea, mo Mesulami ko e foha ʻo Pesotia: naʻa nau fakatoka hono ngaahi ʻakau ʻo ia, pea fokotuʻu hake hono ngaahi matapā, mo hono ngaahi loka, mo hono ngaahi ʻakau fakamaʻu.
Joiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah, repaired the Old Gate. They also put in their places the beams above the gate and put in the bolts and the bars [for locking the gate].
7 Pea naʻe hoko mo kinautolu ʻi he fai ʻae langa ʻa Milatia ko e tangata Kipione, mo Satoni ko e tangata Melonoti, ko e kau tangata ʻo Kipione pea mo Misipa, ʻo aʻu ki he nofoʻanga ʻoe pule ʻi he potu mai ni ʻi he vaitafe.
Next to them, Melatiah from Gibeon [city], Jadon from Meronoth [town], and other men from Gibeon and from Mizpah [city], which was where the governor of the province west of the [Euphrates] River lived, repaired [part of the wall].
8 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langa ʻe ʻUsili ko e foha ʻo Haliheia ko e tufunga koula, mo Hanania ko e foha ʻoe fuavai, pea naʻa nau teuteu ʻae ʻā ʻo Selūsalema ʻo aʻu ki he ʻā maka laulahi.
Next to them, Uzziel, the son of Harhaiah, and Hananiah repaired the wall as far as the Broad/Wide Wall. Harhaiah made things from gold, and Hananiah made perfumes.
9 Pea hoko mo kinautolu naʻe langaʻi ʻe Lifaia ko e foha ʻo Hua, ko e pule ʻo hono vaeua kolo ʻe taha ʻo Selūsalema.
Next to them, Rephaiah the son of Hur, who ruled half of Jerusalem District, repaired [part of the wall].
10 Pea hoko mo kinautolu naʻe langaʻi ʻe Sitaia ko e foha ʻo Halumafi, ʻio, ʻo hangatonu atu ki hono fale. Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Hatusi ko e foha ʻo Hasapinia.
Next to him, Jedaiah the son of Harumaph repaired [part of the wall] near his house. Next to him, Hattush the son of Hashabneiah repaired [part of the wall].
11 Naʻe langaʻi ʻe Malikisa ko e foha ʻo Halimi, mo Hasupi ko e foha ʻo Pehati-Moape, hono potu ʻe taha, mo e fale māʻolunga ʻoe ngaahi fale tutuʻanga meʻa.
Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahath-Moab, repaired a section [of the wall], and also repaired the Tower of the Ovens.
12 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Salumi, ko e foha ʻo Haloesi, ko e pule ʻo hono vaeuaʻanga mālie ʻo Selūsalema, ʻaia mo hono ngaahi ʻofefine.
Next to them, Shallum the son of Hallohesh, who ruled the other half of Jerusalem District, repaired [part of the wall]. His daughters [helped him with the work].
13 Ko e matapā ʻoe teleʻa naʻe langaʻi ia ʻe Hanuni, mo e kakai ʻo Sanoa; naʻa nau langaʻi ia, pea fokotuʻu hono ngaahi matapā, mo hono ngaahi loka ʻo ia, mo hono ngaahi ʻakau fakamaʻu, mo e hanga ʻe ua afe ʻoe ʻā maka ʻo aʻu ki he matapā ʻoe veve.
Hanun and people from Zanoah [city] repaired the Valley Gate. They put the gates in their places, and also put in the bolts and bars [for locking the gate]. They repaired the wall for (1,500 feet/500 meters), as far as the Dung Gate.
14 Ka ko e matapā veve, naʻe langaʻi ia ʻe Malikia ko e foha ʻo Lekapi, ko e pule ia ʻoe potu ʻe taha ʻo Pete-Hakelimi; naʻa ne langaʻi ia, pea fokotuʻu hake hono ngaahi matapā, mo hono ngaahi loka, mo hono ngaahi ʻakau fakamaʻu.
Malchijah the son of Rechab, who ruled Beth-Haccherem District, repaired the Dung Gate. He also put in their places the bolts and bars [for locking the gate].
15 Ka ko e matapā ʻoe matavai naʻe langaʻi ia ʻe Saluni ko e foha ʻo Kolihoosi, ko e pule ʻae potu ʻe taha ʻo Misipa; naʻa ne langaʻi ia, pea maluʻi ia, pea ne fokotuʻu hake hono ngaahi matapā, mo hono ngaahi loka, mo hono ngaahi ʻakau fakamaʻu, mo e ʻā maka ʻoe anovai ʻo Siloa ʻo ofi ki he ngoue ʻoe tuʻi, pea hoko ki he hala tuʻunga naʻe ʻalu hifo mei he kolo ʻa Tevita.
Shallum the son of Colhozeh, who ruled Mizpah District, repaired the Fountain Gate. He put/built a roof over the gate, and put in their places the gates and the bolts and the bars [for locking the gate]. Near the Pool of Shelah he built the wall next to the king’s garden, as far as the steps that went down from the City of David.
16 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Nehemaia ko e foha ʻo ʻAsipuki, ko e pule ʻo hono vaeuaʻanga ʻe taha ʻo Petesua, ʻo hoko atu ki he potu naʻe hangatonu atu ki he anovai naʻe ngaohi, pea ki he fale ʻoe mālohi.
Next to him, Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, who ruled half of the Beth-Zur District, repaired [the wall] as far as the tombs [in the City] of David, to the reservoir that the people had made and the army barracks.
17 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe he kau Livai, ko Lihumi, ko e foha ʻo Pani. Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Hasapea, ko e pule ia ʻi hono vaeuaʻanga ʻe taha ʻo Kiila, ʻi hono potu ʻoʻona.
Next to him, several descendants of Levi [who helped the priests] repaired [parts of the wall]. Rehum the son of Bani repaired one section. Hashabiah, who ruled half of the Keilah District, repaired the next section on behalf of the people of his district.
18 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe honau kāinga, ko Pavai ko e foha ʻo Henatati, ko e pule ʻoe vaeuaʻanga ʻe taha ʻo Kiila.
Bavvai the son of Henadad, who ruled the other half of the Keilah District, repaired [the next section] along with other descendants of Levi.
19 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Esili ko e foha ʻo Sesua, ko e pule ʻo Misipa, ʻae konga ʻe taha naʻe hangatonu atu ki he fale ʻoe mahafutau ʻi he afenga ʻoe ʻā maka.
Next to him, Ezer the son of Jeshua, who ruled Mizpah [city], repaired another section in front of the [steps which] went up to the (armory/building where the weapons are kept), as far as where the wall turns [a bit to the right].
20 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi fakakukafi pē ʻe Paluki ko e foha ʻo Sapai hono konga ʻe taha, mei he afenga ʻoe ʻā maka ʻo hoko ki he matapā ʻoe fale ʻo Iliasipi ko e taulaʻeiki lahi.
Next to him, Baruch the son of Zabbai repaired a section, as far as the door of the house of Eliashib the Supreme Priest.
21 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻae potu ʻe taha ʻe Milemoti ko e foha ʻo Ulisa ko e foha ʻo Kose, mei he matapā ʻoe fale ʻo Iliasipi ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga ʻoe fale ʻo Iliasipi.
Next to him, Meremoth the son of Uriah and grandson of Hakkoz, repaired a section from the door of Eliashib’s house to the end of Eliahib’s house.
22 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki, ʻae kau tangata ʻoe tafangafanga.
Next to him, [several priests repaired parts of the wall]. Priests from the area near Jerusalem repaired [one section].
23 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Pensimani mo Hasupi ʻo feʻunga atu mo honau fale. Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe ʻAsalia ko e foha ʻo Maaseia ko e foha ʻo ʻAnania ʻo ofi ki hono fale.
Next to them, Benjamin and Hasshub repaired [a section] in front of their house. Azariah, the son of Maaseiah and grandson of Ananiah, repaired the next [section] in front of his house.
24 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Pinui ko e foha ʻo Henatati ʻae konga ʻe taha, mei he fale ʻo ʻAsalia ʻo hoko ki he afeʻanga ʻoe ʻā maka, ʻio, ʻo aʻu ki he tuliki.
Next to him, Binnui the son of Henadad repaired a section, from Azariah’s house to where the wall turns a bit.
25 Ko Palali ko e foha ʻo Usei, naʻe fai hangatonu atu ki he afenga ʻoe ʻā maka, mo e fale māʻolunga ʻaia ʻoku tuʻu ʻituʻa mei he fale māʻolunga ʻoe tuʻi, ʻaia naʻe ofi ki he lotoʻā ʻoe fale fakapōpula. Pea hoko mo ia ko Pitaia ko e foha ʻo Palosi.
[Next to him], Palal the son of Uzai repaired [a section], from where the wall turns and from where the watchtower is taller than the upper palace, the one where King [Solomon] had lived. The watchtower is near the courtyard where the guards [live].
26 Kaeʻumaʻā foki naʻe nofo ʻae kakai Netenimi ʻi Ofili, ʻo hoko atu ki he matapā vai ki he potu fakahahake, mo e fale māʻolunga ʻaia naʻe tuʻu ʻituʻa.
Next to him, Pedaiah the son of Parosh repaired [a section] toward the east to a place near the Water Gate and near the tall tower. That part of the wall is near Ophel [Hill], where the temple servants lived.
27 Pea hoko mo kinautolu naʻe langaʻi ʻe he kakai Tikoa ʻae konga ʻe taha, ʻo hangatonu atu ki he fale māʻolunga lahi ʻaia ʻoku tuʻu ʻituʻa, ʻio, ʻo aʻu atu ki he ʻā maka ʻo Ofili.
Next to him, men from Tekoa [town] repaired another section, from near the tall tower as far as the wall near Ophel [Hill]. [That was the second section that they repaired].
28 Naʻe langaʻi ʻe he kau taulaʻeiki, mei he potu ʻi ʻolunga mei he matapā hoosi, ʻo taki taha hangatonu ki hono fale.
A group of priests repaired [the wall] north from the Horse Gate. Each one repaired the section near his own house.
29 Pea hoko mo kinautolu naʻe langaʻi ʻe Satoki; ko e foha ʻo Imeli ʻo hangatonu ki hono fale. Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Simaia ko e foha ʻo Sikania, ko e tauhi ʻoe matapā fakahahake,
Next to them, Zadok the son of Immer repaired [the section] in front of his house. Next to him, Shemaiah the son of Shecaniah, who (was the gatekeeper at/opened and closed) the East Gate, repaired [the next section].
30 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Hanania ko e foha ʻo Selemia, mo Hanuni ko hono ono ʻoe foha ʻo Salafi, ʻae konga ʻe taha. Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Mesulami ko e foha ʻo Pelakia ʻo hangatonu ki hono fale.
Next to him, Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, repaired a section. That was the second [section that they repaired]. Next to them, Meshullam the son of Berekiah, made repairs across from where he lived.
31 Pea hoko mo ia naʻe langaʻi ʻe Malikia ko e foha ʻoe tufunga koula, ʻo hoko ki he potu ʻae kakai Netenimi, mo e kau tangata fakatau, ʻo hangatonu ki he matapā ko Mifikati, pea ki he fale ʻi he tuliki.
Next to them, Malchijah, who also made things from gold, repaired [a section] as far as the building used by the temple servants and merchants, which was close to the Inspection Gate. This was the gate into the temple that was near the room on top of the northeast corner of the wall.
32 Pea ko e potu ʻi he vahaʻa ʻoe tuliki mo e matapā sipi, naʻe langaʻi ia ʻe he kau tufunga koula mo e kau tangata fakatau.
Other men who made things from gold, along with merchants, repaired [the last section of the wall], as far as the Sheep Gate.
