The rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants, and all those who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the law of God, their wives, their sons, and their daughters—everyone who had knowledge and understanding—
29 Naʻa nau kau mo honau ngaahi kāinga, ko honau houʻeiki, ʻonau fai ʻae tuki moʻoni, pea mo e fuakava, ke ʻalu ʻi he fono ʻae ʻOtua, ʻaia naʻe foaki ʻia Mōsese ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻae ʻOtua, ke tokanga mo fai ʻae ngaahi fekau kotoa pē ʻa Sihova ko hotau ʻEiki, mo ʻene ngaahi fakamaau mo ʻene ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni;
joined with their brothers, their nobles, and entered into a curse and into an oath, to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the LORD our Lord, and his ordinances and his statutes;
30 Pea ke ʻoua naʻa tau foaki hotau ngaahi ʻofefine ki he kakai ʻoe fonua; pea ʻoua naʻa tau ʻomi honau ngaahi ʻofefine moʻo hotau ngaahi foha:
and that we would not give our daughters to the peoples of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons;
31 Pea kapau ʻe ʻomi ʻe he kakai ʻoe fonua ha meʻa fakatau pē ha meʻakai ʻi he ʻaho tapu ke fakatau, pea ʻoua naʻa tau fakatau ia ʻi he ʻaho tapu, he ko e ʻaho māʻoniʻoni: pea ke tau tuku hono fitu ʻoe taʻu, mo e ʻeke totongi kotoa pē [ʻi ai].
and if the peoples of the land bring wares or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy from them on the Sabbath, or on a holy day; and that we would forego the seventh year crops and the exaction of every debt.
32 Pea naʻa tau fai haʻamau fono, ke fakamoʻua ʻakimautolu ʻi he taʻu kotoa pē ʻaki hono tolu ʻoe vahe ʻoe sikeli maʻae tauhi ʻoe fale ʻo homau ʻOtua;
Also we made ordinances for ourselves, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God:
33 Koeʻuhi ko e mā ʻoe ʻao, pea ki he feilaulau meʻakai fai maʻu pe, pea mo e feilaulau tutu fai maʻu pe, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho tapu, ʻi he ngaahi tuʻu efiafi, pea ki he ngaahi kātoanga kuo kotofa pea mo e ngaahi meʻa māʻoniʻoni, pea maʻae ngaahi feilaulau koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi angahala ke fai ʻaki ʻae fakalelei maʻa ʻIsileli, pea ki he ngāue kotoa pē ʻoe fale ʻoe ʻOtua.
for the show bread, for the continual meal offering, for the continual burnt offering, for the Sabbaths, for the new moons, for the set feasts, for the holy things, for the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.
34 Pea naʻa tau fai ʻae talotalo ki he kau taulaʻeiki, mo e kau Livai, mo e kakai, ki he feilaulau ʻoe fefie, ke fetuku ia ki he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua, ʻo fakatatau ki he ngaahi fale ʻo ʻemau ngaahi tamai, ʻi he ngaahi kuonga kuo kotofa ʻi he taʻu tukufakaholo, ke tutu ʻi he funga ʻoe feilaulauʻanga ʻo Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua, ʻo hangē ko ia kuo tohi ʻi he fono:
We, the priests, the Levites, and the people, cast lots for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, according to our fathers’ houses, at times appointed year by year, to burn on the LORD our God’s altar, as it is written in the law;
35 Pea ke ʻomi ʻae ngaahi ʻuluaki fua ʻoe ngoue, mo e ʻuluaki fua ʻoe ngaahi ʻakau kotoa pē, ʻi he taʻu hokohoko pe, ki he fale ʻo Sihova:
and to bring the first fruits of our ground and the first fruits of all fruit of all kinds of trees, year by year, to the LORD’s house;
36 Pea mo e ʻuluaki tupu ʻo hotau ngaahi foha, pea mo ʻetau fanga manu lalahi, ʻo hangē ko ia kuo tohi ʻi he fono, mo e ʻuluaki tupu ʻo ʻetau ngaahi fanga manu siʻi mo e fanga [sipi], ke ʻomi ki he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua, ki he kau taulaʻeiki ʻaia ʻoku tauhi ʻi he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua:
also the firstborn of our sons and of our livestock, as it is written in the law, and the firstborn of our herds and of our flocks, to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God;
37 Pea ke tau ʻomi hono ʻuluaki fua ʻo ʻetau mā [kuo natu], mo ʻetau ngaahi meʻa ʻatu, mo e fua ʻoe ngaahi ʻakau kehekehe kotoa pē, ʻoe uaine mo e lolo, ki he kau taulaʻeiki, ki he ngaahi potuʻi fale ʻi he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua: mo e ngaahi tāuvao ʻo ʻetau ngoue ki he kau Livai, ke maʻu ai ʻe he kau Livai ko ia ʻae ngaahi tāuvao ʻi he ngaahi kolo ʻo hotau potu kakai.
and that we should bring the first fruits of our dough, our wave offerings, the fruit of all kinds of trees, and the new wine and the oil, to the priests, to the rooms of the house of our God; and the tithes of our ground to the Levites; for they, the Levites, take the tithes in all our farming villages.
38 Pea ko e taulaʻeiki ko e foha ʻo ʻElone ʻe kau ia mo e kau Livai ʻi he maʻu ʻe he kau Livai ʻae ngaahi tāuvao: pea ʻe fetuku hake ʻe he kau Livai hono hongofulu ʻoe vahe ʻoe tāuvao ki he fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua, ki he ngaahi potu fale ki loto ʻi he fale koloa.
The priest, the descendent of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites take tithes. The Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the rooms, into the treasure house.
39 He ko e fānau ʻa ʻIsileli mo e fānau ʻa Livai te nau ʻomi ʻae feilaulau ʻoe uite, mo e uaine foʻou, mo e lolo, ki he ngaahi fale ʻaia ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae ngaahi ipu ʻoe faletapu, mo e kau taulaʻeiki ʻoku tauhi, mo e kau leʻo matapā, mo e kau hiva: pea ʻe ʻikai te tau liʻaki ʻae fale ʻo hotau ʻOtua.
For the children of Israel and the children of Levi shall bring the wave offering of the grain, of the new wine, and of the oil, to the rooms where the vessels of the sanctuary are, and the priests who minister, with the gatekeepers and the singers. We will not forsake the house of our God.
