< Maika 2 >
1 Malaʻia kiate kinautolu ʻoku fakatupu hia, mo filioʻi kovi ʻi honau mohenga! ʻOka maama ʻae pongipongi, ʻoku nau fai ia, koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻi he mālohi ʻa honau nima.
Woe to those who devise iniquity and plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands.
2 Pea ʻoku nau fakaʻamu ki he ngaahi ngoue, pea faʻao fakamālohi ia; mo e ngaahi fale, pea ʻave ia; ʻoku pehē ʻenau fakamālohi ʻae tangata mo hono fale, ʻio, ʻae tangata mo hono tofiʻa.
They covet fields and seize them; they take away houses. They deprive a man of his home, a fellow man of his inheritance.
3 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; “Vakai, ʻoku ou fakatupu ha kovi ki he fānau ni, ʻaia ʻe ʻikai hao mei ai homou kia: pea ʻe ʻikai te mou ʻalu mo e fielahi; he ʻoku kovi ʻae kuonga ni.
Therefore this is what the LORD says: “I am planning against this nation a disaster from which you cannot free your necks. Then you will not walk so proudly, for it will be a time of calamity.
4 ʻI he ʻaho ko ia, ʻe fokotuʻu ʻe ha taha ha lea fakatātā kiate kimoutolu, pea tangi ʻaki ʻae tangi mamahi, pea pehē, ‘Kuo tau maumau ʻaupito: kuo ne fakakehe ʻae tofiʻa ʻo hoku kakai: ʻa ʻene ʻave ia meiate au! ʻI heʻene tafoki atu, kuo ne vahevahe hotau ngaahi ngoue.’”
In that day they will take up a proverb against you and taunt you with this bitter lamentation: ‘We are utterly ruined! He has changed the portion of my people. How He has removed it from me! He has allotted our fields to traitors.’”
5 Ko ia ʻe ʻikai toe kiate koe ha niʻihi, ke lī ha afo ʻi he talotalo ʻi he fakataha ʻo Sihova.
Therefore, you will have no one in the assembly of the LORD to divide the land by lot.
6 ʻOku nau pehē kiate kinautolu ʻoku kikite, “ʻOua naʻa mou kikite:” “ʻE ʻikai te nau kikite kiate kinautolu, pea ʻe ʻikai te nau mā.”
“Do not preach,” they preach. “Do not preach these things; disgrace will not overtake us.”
7 ʻA koe kuo ui ko e fale ʻo Sēkope, “ʻOku ʻapiʻapi koā ʻae Laumālie ʻo Sihova? Ko e ngaahi meʻa ni, ko ʻene ngāue? ʻIkai ʻoku hoko lelei ʻa ʻeku ngaahi lea kiate ia ʻoku ʻeveʻeva totonu?”
Should it be said, O house of Jacob, “Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these the things He does?” Do not My words bring good to him who walks uprightly?
8 “ʻIo, kuo tuʻu hake ki mui ni ʻa hoku kakai kiate au, hangē ha fili: ʻoku mou hamusi ʻae kofutuʻa mo e kofu loto meiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻalu atu ʻi he melino, hangē ko e kau tangata taʻepoto ki he tau.
But of late My people have risen up like an enemy: You strip off the splendid robe from unsuspecting passersby like men returning from battle.
9 Kuo mou kapusi ʻae kau fefine ʻo hoku kakai mei honau ngaahi fale lelei; mei heʻenau fānau, kuo mou ʻave hoku nāunau ʻo lauikuonga.
You drive the women of My people from their pleasant homes. You take away My blessing from their children forever.
10 Mou tuʻu hake ʻo ʻalu; he ʻoku ʻikai ko homou mālōlōʻanga eni; koeʻuhi ʻoku ʻuli ia ʻe fai ʻae fakaʻauha, ʻio, ʻae fakaʻauha lahi.
Arise and depart, for this is not your place of rest, because its defilement brings destruction— a grievous destruction!
11 Kapau ʻoku ai ha tangata ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he laumālie mo e loi, pea ne pehē, “Te u kikite kiate koe ki he uaine, mo e kava mālohi;” ko e moʻoni ʻe hoko ia ko e palōfita ki he kakai ni.
If a man of wind were to come and say falsely, “I will preach to you of wine and strong drink,” he would be just the preacher for this people!
12 Ko e moʻoni te u tānaki ʻa hoʻo kātoa, ʻe Sēkope; ko e moʻoni te u tānaki ʻae toenga ʻo ʻIsileli; te u fakataha ʻakinautolu, ʻo hangē ko e fanga sipi ʻo Posila, hangē ko e fanga sipi ʻi he lotoʻā sipi: ʻe lahi ʻae patatū ko e meʻa ʻi he [tokolahi ʻoe ]kau tangata.”
I will surely gather all of you, O Jacob; I will collect the remnant of Israel. I will bring them together like sheep in a pen, like a flock in the midst of its pasture— a noisy throng.
13 Kuo ʻalu hake ʻi honau ʻao ʻaia ʻoku fakaava: kuo nau movete mo laka atu ʻi he matapā, pea kuo nau hū ai kituaʻā: pea ʻe muʻomuʻa ʻa honau tuʻi ʻiate kinautolu, pea mo Sihova ʻi honau ʻao.
One who breaks open the way will go up before them; they will break through the gate, and go out by it. Their King will pass through before them, the LORD as their leader.
