1 Pea ko e ngaahi puleʻanga eni naʻe tuku ʻe Sihova ke ʻahiʻahi ʻaki ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻio, ʻakinautolu ʻi ʻIsileli, naʻe ʻikai tenau ʻilo ʻae ngaahi tau kotoa pē ʻoe kau Kēnani:
And these [are] the nations which he left Yahweh to put to [the] test by them Israel all [those] who not they had known all [the] wars of Canaan.
2 Koeʻuhi ke hoko ʻo ʻilo ai ʻe he ngaahi toʻutangata kotoa pē ʻo ʻIsileli, ke ako tau kiate kinautolu, koeʻuhi pē ko kinautolu naʻe ʻikai tenau tomuʻa ʻilo siʻi ia:
Only so as to know [the] generations of [the] people of Israel to teach them war only which before not they had known them.

[the] five - [the] rulers of [the] Philistines And all the Canaanite[s] and the Sidonian[s] and the Hivite[s] [who] dwelt of [the] mount of Lebanon from [the] mountain of Baal Hermon to Lebo Hamath.

And they were to put to [the] test by them Israel to know ¿ will they obey [the] commandments of Yahweh which he had commanded ancestors their by [the] hand of Moses.

And [the] people of Israel they dwelt in [the] midst of the Canaanite[s] the Hittite[s] and the Amorite[s] and the Perizzite[s] and the Hivite[s] and the Jebusite[s].

And they took daughters their for themselves to wives and daughters their they gave to sons their and they served gods their.
7 Pea naʻe fai kovi ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ʻo fakangaloʻi ʻa Sihova ko honau ʻOtua, ʻonau tauhi ʻa Peali mo e ngaahi vao tapu.
And they did [the] people of Israel the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh and they forgot Yahweh God their and they served the Baals and the Asherah poles.
8 Ko ia naʻe vela ai ʻae houhau ʻa Sihova ki ʻIsileli, ʻo ne fakatau ʻakinautolu ki he nima ʻo Kusani-Lisateimi ko e tuʻi ʻo Mesepotemia: pea naʻe tauhi ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻa Kusani-Lisateimi ʻi he taʻu ʻe valu.
And it burned [the] anger of Yahweh on Israel and he sold them in [the] hand of Cushan-Rishathaim [the] king of Aram Naharaim and they served [the] people of Israel Cushan-Rishathaim eight years.
9 Pea ʻi he tangi ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli kia Sihova, naʻe fokotuʻu hake ʻe Sihova ʻae fakamoʻui ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻaia naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu, ʻio, ko Otinili ko e foha ʻo Kenasi, ko e tehina ʻo Kelepi.
And they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh and he raised up Yahweh a deliverer for [the] people of Israel and he delivered them Othniel [the] son of Kenaz [the] brother of Caleb young more than him.
10 Pea naʻe ʻiate ia ʻae Laumālie ʻo Sihova, pea ne fakamaauʻi ʻe ia ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻo ne fai ʻae tau: pea naʻe tukuange ʻe Sihova ʻa Kusani-Lisateimi ko e tuʻi ʻo Mesepotemia ki hono nima; pea naʻe mālohi hono nima kia Kusani-Lisateimi.
And it was on him [the] spirit of Yahweh and he judged Israel and he went out to war and he gave Yahweh in hand his Cushan-Rishathaim [the] king of Aram and it prevailed hand his over Cushan-Rishathaim.
11 Pea naʻe nofo fiemālie pe ʻae fonua ʻi he taʻu ʻe fāngofulu. Pea naʻe pekia ʻa Otinili ko e foha ʻo Kenasi.
And it was at peace the land forty year[s] and he died Othniel [the] son of Kenaz.
12 Pea naʻe toe fai angakovi ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova: pea naʻe fakamālohi ʻe Sihova ʻa Ekeloni ko e tuʻi ʻo Moape kia ʻIsileli, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau fai kovi ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova.
And they repeated [the] people of Israel to do the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh and he strengthened Yahweh Eglon [the] king of Moab over Israel on for they did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh.
13 Pea ne ne fakataha kiate ia ʻae fānau ʻa ʻAmoni mo ʻAmaleki, ʻo ne ʻalu ʻo teʻia ʻa ʻIsileli, pea ne maʻu ʻe ia ʻae kolo ʻoe ʻakau ko e ponga.
And he gathered to himself [the] people of Ammon and Amalek and he went and he attacked Israel and they took possession of [the] city of the palm trees.
14 Pea pehē, naʻe tauhi ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻa Ekeloni, ko e tuʻi ʻo Moape ʻi he taʻu ʻe hongofulu ma valu.
And they served [the] people of Israel Eglon [the] king of Moab eight-teen year[s].
15 Ka ʻi he tangi ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli kia Sihova, naʻe fokotuʻu hake ʻe Sihova ha fakamoʻui kiate kinautolu, ko ʻEhuti ko e foha ʻo Kela, ʻoe kakai Penisimani, ko e tangata hema: pea naʻe ʻave ʻiate ia ʻe he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli ʻae meʻaʻofa kia Ekeloni ko e tuʻi ʻo Moape.
And they cried out [the] people of Israel to Yahweh and he raised up Yahweh for them a deliverer Ehud [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite a man impeded [the] hand of right his and they sent [the] people of Israel by hand his tribute to Eglon [the] king of Moab.
16 Pea naʻe ngaohi ʻe ʻEhuti haʻane hele fakatoumata, ko e hanga ʻe ua hono lōloa; pea naʻa ne nonoʻo ia ʻi hono lalo kofu ki hono tenga toʻomataʻu.
And he made for himself Ehud a sword and [belonged] to it two lips [was] a cubit length its and he girded it from under to garments his on [the] thigh of right his.
17 Pea ne ʻomi ʻe ia ʻae meʻaʻofa kia Ekeloni ko e tuʻi ʻo Moape: pea ko e tangata sino lahi ʻa Ekeloni.
And he brought near the tribute to Eglon [the] king of Moab and Eglon [was] a man fat very.
18 Pea hili ʻene ʻatu ʻae meʻaʻofa, naʻa ne fekau ke ʻalu ʻae kakai naʻe fua ʻae meʻaʻofa.
And it was just when he had finished to bring near the tribute and he sent away the people [who] bore the tribute.

And he he returned from the idols which [were] with Gilgal and he said a word of secrecy [belongs] to me to you O king and he said hush! and they went out from with him all those [who] stood with him.

And he stretched out Ehud [the] hand of left his and he took the sword from on [the] thigh of right his and he thrust it in belly his.
22 Pea naʻe mole ai ki loto hono fakavaka mo e mata ʻoe hele; pea ʻoposi ʻae matalavea ki he hele, ko ia naʻe ʻikai te ne mafai ke toe toho mai ʻae hele mei hono kete: pea naʻe haʻu kituʻa hono kovi.
And it went also the hilt after the blade and it closed up the fat behind the blade that not he drew out the sword from belly his and he went out the hole towards.
23 Pea ʻalu ai ʻa ʻEhuti ki fale, pea ne tāpuni ʻae matapā ʻoe potu fale kiate ia, ke maʻu.
And he went out Ehud the porch towards and he closed [the] doors of the roof chamber behind him and he locked [them].
24 Pea hili ʻene ʻalu kituaʻā, naʻe haʻu ai ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki: pea ʻi heʻenau mamata, pea vakai, kuo maʻu ʻae ngaahi matapā ʻoe potu fale, naʻa nau pehē, naʻa ʻoku fai ʻene meʻa ʻi hono potu fale.
And he he went forth and servants his they came and they saw and there! [the] doors of the roof chamber [were] locked and they said surely [is] covering he feet his in [the] chamber of the coolness.
25 Pea naʻa nau mā ʻi he tatali: pea, vakai, naʻe ʻikai toʻo ʻe ia ʻae ngaahi matapā ʻoe potu fale ko ia naʻa nau toʻo ai ʻae kī, pea vete ʻaki: pea vakai, kuo tō ʻo mate honau ʻeiki ki lalo ki he kelekele.
And they writhed until were ashamed and there! not he [was] opening [the] doors of the roof chamber and they took the key and they opened [them] and there! master their [was] lying [the] ground towards dead.
26 Pea naʻe hao ʻa ʻEhuti ʻi heʻenau fakatuai, pea mole atu ia ʻo mamaʻo ʻi he ngaahi potu ʻoe taʻanga maka, pea hao atu ia ki Seilati.
And Ehud he escaped until delayed they and he he passed by the idols and he escaped Seirah towards.

And it was when came he and he gave a blast on the ram's horn in [the] hill country of Ephraim and they went down with him [the] people of Israel from the hill country and he [was] before them.
28 Pea pehē ʻe ia kiate kinautolu, “Mou muimui mai ʻiate au: he kuo tukuange ʻe Sihova homou ngaahi fili ko e kakai Moape ki homou nima.” Pea naʻa nau ʻalu hifo ʻo muimui ʻiate ia, ʻonau maʻu ʻae ngaahi aʻaʻanga ʻo Sioatani ʻo hanga ki Moape, pea naʻe ʻikai tenau tuku ha tangata ʻe tokotaha ke aʻa ai.
And he said to them pursue after me for he has given Yahweh enemies your Moab in hand your and they went down after him and they captured [the] fords of the Jordan to Moab and not they permitted anyone to pass over.
29 Pea naʻa nau taaʻi ʻae kau tangata Moape ʻi he kuonga ko ia, ko e tokotaha mano nai, ko e kau tangata sino kotoa pē pea toʻa; pea naʻe ʻikai hao ha tangata ʻe tokotaha.
And they struck down Moab at the time that about ten thousand man every stout [person] and every man of strength and not he escaped anyone.
30 Pea naʻe fakamoʻulaloa ʻa Moape ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ki he nima ʻo ʻIsileli. Pea naʻe nofo fiemālie ʻae fonua ʻi he taʻu ʻe valungofulu.
And it was subdued Moab on the day that under [the] hand of Israel and it was at peace the land eighty year[s].
31 Pea naʻe hoko mo ia ʻa Samikaʻa ko e foha ʻo ʻAnati, ʻaia naʻe teʻia ʻae kau Filisitia ʻe toko onongeau ʻaki ʻae tao [ʻoku hoka ʻaki ]ʻae pulu: pea naʻa ne fakamoʻui foki ʻe ia ʻa ʻIsileli.
And after him he was Shamgar [the] son of Anath and he struck down [the] Philistines six hundred man with [the] goad of cattle and he delivered also he Israel.
