< Sione 14 >
1 “ʻOua naʻa mamahi homou loto: ʻoku mou tui ki he ʻOtua, tui foki kiate au.
“Do not let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me.
2 ʻI he fale ʻo ʻeku Tamai ʻoku ai ʻae ngaahi nofoʻanga ʻoku lahi: ka ne ʻikai, pehē kuo u tala ia kiate kimoutolu. ʻOku ou ʻalu ke teuteu ha potu moʻomoutolu.
In my Father’s house are many homes. If it were not so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.
3 Pea kapau teu ʻalu, ʻo teuteu ha potu moʻomoutolu, te u toe haʻu, ʻo maʻu ʻakimoutolu kiate au; koeʻuhi ko e potu te u ʻi ai, te mou ʻi ai foki.
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also.
4 Pea ko e potu ʻoku ou ʻalu ki ai ʻoku mou ʻilo, pea ʻoku mou ʻilo mo e hala.”
You know where I go, and you know the way.”
5 Pea lea ʻa Tōmasi kiate ia, “ʻEiki, ʻoku ʻikai te mau ʻilo pe ʻoku ke ʻalu ki fē; pea ʻe fēfē ʻemau ʻilo ʻae hala?”
Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”
6 Pea talaange ʻe Sisu kiate ia, “Ko au ko e hala, mo e moʻoni, pea mo e moʻui: ʻoku ʻikai haʻu ha tangata ʻe taha ki he Tamai, kae ʻiate au.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
7 Ka ne mou ʻilo au, pehē, kuo mou ʻilo mo ʻeku Tamai foki: pea ngata mei heni ʻoku mou ʻilo ia, pea kuo mou mamata kiate ia.”
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on, you know him and have seen him.”
8 Pea lea ʻa Filipe kiate ia, “ʻEiki, fakahā kiate kimautolu ʻae Tamai pea mau fiemālie ai.”
Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and that will be enough for us.”
9 Pea pehēange ʻe Sisu kiate ia, “Filipe, he kuo pehē ni hono fuoloa ʻo ʻeku ʻiate kimoutolu, ka ʻoku teʻeki ai te ke ʻilo au? Ko ia kuo ne mamata kiate au, kuo mamata ia ki he Tamai; pea fēfē ai haʻo pehē, ‘Fakahā kiate kimautolu ʻae Tamai?’
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you such a long time, and do you not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 ʻOku ʻikai te ke tui ʻoku ou ʻi he Tamai, mo e Tamai ʻiate au? Ko e lea ʻoku ou leaʻaki kiate kimoutolu, ʻoku ʻikai te u lea ʻaki ʻiate au: ka ko e Tamai, ʻoku nofo ʻiate au, ʻoku ne fai ʻae ngaahi ngāue.
Do not you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works.
11 Tui mai kiate au ʻoku ou ʻi he Tamai, mo e Tamai ʻiate au: pea kapau ʻe ʻikai, pea tui kiate au koeʻuhi ko e ngaahi ngāue.
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me; or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 Ko e moʻoni, ko e moʻoni, ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Ko ia ʻoku tui kiate au, ko e ngaahi ngāue ʻoku ou fai ʻe fai ʻe ia foki; pea te ne fai mo ia ʻoku lahi hake; koeʻuhi ko ʻeku ʻalu ki heʻeku Tamai.
Most certainly I tell you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and he will do greater works than these, because I am going to my Father.
13 Pea ko e meʻa kotoa pē te mou kole ʻi hoku huafa, te u fai ia, koeʻuhi ke fakaongoongolelei ʻae Tamai ʻi he ʻAlo.
Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 Ko ia kotoa pē te mou kole ʻi hoku huafa, te u fai.
If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it.
15 “Kapau ʻoku mou ʻofa kiate au, fai ʻeku ngaahi fekau.
If you love me, keep my commandments.
16 Pea te u kole ki he Tamai, pea te ne foaki kiate kimoutolu ha Fakafiemālie ʻe taha, koeʻuhi ke nofo ia mo kimoutolu ʻo taʻengata; (aiōn )
I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Comforter, that he may be with you in this age (aiōn ):
17 ʻIo, ko e Laumālie ʻoe moʻoni; ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai faʻa maʻu ʻe he māmani, he ʻoku ʻikai mamata ia ki ai, pe ʻiloʻi ia: ka te mou ʻilo ia; he te ne nofo mo kimoutolu, pea nofoʻia ʻe ia ʻakimoutolu.
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it does not see him and does not know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
18 “ʻE ʻikai te u tuku ke tuēnoa ʻakimoutolu: te u haʻu kiate kimoutolu.
I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.
19 ʻOku toe siʻi, pea ʻe ʻikai mamata kiate au ʻa māmani; ka te mou mamata kiate au: koeʻuhi ʻoku ou moʻui, ʻe moʻui ʻakimoutolu foki.
Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you will see me. Because I live, you will live also.
20 ʻI he ʻaho ko ia te mou ʻilo ʻoku ou ʻi heʻeku Tamai, mo kimoutolu ʻiate au, mo au ʻiate kimoutolu.
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
21 “Ko ia ʻoku ne maʻu ʻeku ngaahi fekau, ʻo fai ki ai, ko ia ia ʻoku ʻofa kiate au: pea ko ia ʻoku ʻofa kiate au, ʻe ʻofa ʻa ʻeku Tamai kiate ia, pea te u ʻofa mo au kiate ia, pea te u fakahā au kiate ia.”
One who has my commandments and keeps them, that person is one who loves me. One who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will reveal myself to him.”
22 Pea lea ʻa Siutasi kiate ia, naʻe ʻikai ko ʻIsikaliote, “ʻEiki, ko e hā te ke fakahā ai koe kiate kimautolu, kae ʻikai ki māmani?”
Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, what has happened that you are about to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?”
Jesus answered him, “If a man loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24 Ko ia ʻoku ʻikai ʻofa kiate au, ʻoku ʻikai te ne maʻu ʻeku ngaahi tala: pea ko e lea ʻoku mou ongoʻi, ʻoku ʻikai ʻaʻaku, ka ʻoku ʻae Tamai kuo ne fekauʻi au.
He who does not love me does not keep my words. The word which you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.
25 “Ko e ngaahi meʻa ni kuo u tala kiate kimoutolu, ʻi heʻeku ʻiate kimoutolu.
“I have said these things to you while still living with you.
26 Ka ko e Fakafiemālie ko e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni, ʻaia ʻe fekau ʻe he Tamai ʻi hoku huafa, te ne akoʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē, mo fakamanatuʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē, ʻaia kuo u leaʻaki kiate kimoutolu.
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
27 “ʻOku ou tuku ʻae melino kiate kimoutolu, ko ʻeku melino ʻoku ou foaki kiate kimoutolu: ʻoku ʻikai hangē ko e foaki ʻa māmani, ʻa ʻeku foaki kiate kimoutolu. ʻOua naʻa mamahi homou loto, pea ʻoua naʻa manavahē ʻia.
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.
28 Kuo mou ongoʻi ʻeku lea kiate kimoutolu, ‘ʻOku ou ʻalu, pea u [toe ]haʻu kiate kimoutolu.’ Ka ne mou ʻofa kiate au, te mou fiefia, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻeku pehē, ʻOku ou ʻalu ki he Tamai: he ʻoku lahi ʻeku Tamai ʻiate au.
You heard how I told you, ‘I am going away, and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I said ‘I am going to my Father;’ for the Father is greater than I.
29 Pea ko eni kuo u fakahā ia kiate kimoutolu, ka ʻoku teʻeki hoko, koeʻuhi ʻoka hoko ia, ke mou tui.
Now I have told you before it happens so that when it happens, you may believe.
30 Ngata mei heni, ʻe ʻikai te u lea lahi kiate kimoutolu: he ʻoku haʻu ʻae ʻeiki ʻoe māmani, ka ʻoku ʻikai ha meʻa ʻiate au.
I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world comes, and he has nothing in me.
31 Ka koeʻuhi ke ʻilo ʻe māmani ʻoku ou ʻofa ki he Tamai; pea mo ʻeku fai ʻo hangē ko e fekau ʻae Tamai kiate au. “Tuʻu hake, ke tau ʻalu ʻi heni.
But that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father commanded me, even so I do. Arise, let’s go from here.
