1 “ʻIkai ʻoku ai ʻae kuonga kuo tuʻutuʻuni ki he tangata ʻi māmani? pea tatau hono ngaahi ʻaho mo e ngaahi ʻaho ʻoe ngāue unga?
Knyythod is lijf of man on erthe, and his daies ben as the daies of an hired man.
2 ‌ʻO hangē ko e holi lahi ʻae tamaioʻeiki ki he malumalu, pea hangē ko e ʻamanaki ʻae ngāue unga ki he totongi ʻo ʻene ngāue:
As an hert desireth schadowe, and as an hirede man abideth the ende of his werk;
3 ‌ʻOku pehē, kuo tuku ke ʻaʻaku ʻae ngaahi māhina mamahi, pea kuo tuʻutuʻuni kiate au ʻae ngaahi pō fakamamahi.
so and Y hadde voide monethis, and Y noumbrede trauailous niytes to me.
4 ‌ʻO kau ka tokoto hifo, ʻoku ou pehē, ‘te u tuʻu hake ʻafē, kuo ʻosi ʻae pō?’ Pea ʻoku ou fiu ʻi he fetafokifokiʻaki ʻo aʻu ki he maʻa ʻae ʻaho.
If Y schal slepe, Y schal seie, Whanne schal Y rise? and eft Y schal abide the euentid, and Y schal be fillid with sorewis `til to derknessis.
5 Kuo kofuʻaki hoku sino ʻae ʻuanga mo e ngaahi konga kelekele; kuo mafahifahi hoku kili, pea kuo fakalielia.
Mi fleisch is clothid with rot, and filthis of dust; my skyn driede vp, and is drawun togidere.
6 Ko hoku ngaahi ʻaho ʻoku vave ʻi he faʻonga filo ʻoe tangata lalanga, pea ʻoku fakaʻosi ia taʻehaʻamanaki lelei.
My daies passiden swiftliere thanne a web is kit doun `of a webstere; and tho daies ben wastid with outen ony hope.
7 ‌ʻOfa ke manatuʻi ko e matangi ʻa ʻeku moʻui: ʻE ʻikai toe mamata ʻa hoku mata ki he lelei.
God, haue thou mynde, for my lijf is wynde, and myn iye schal not turne ayen, that it se goodis.
8 Ko e mata ʻo ia kuo ne mamata kiate au ʻe ʻikai toe mamata mai: ʻoku ʻiate au ho fofonga, pea u ʻikai leva.
Nethir the siyt of man schal biholde me; but thin iyen ben in me, and Y schal not `be in deedli lijf.
9 ‌ʻO hangē ko e fakamovetevete ʻo mole atu ʻae ʻao: ʻoku pehē, ko ia ʻoku ʻalu hifo ki he faʻitoka ʻe ʻikai toe ʻalu hake. (Sheol h7585)
As a cloude is wastid, and passith, so he that goith doun to helle, schal not stie; (Sheol h7585)
10 ‌ʻE ʻikai toe foki ia ki hono fale, pea ʻe ʻikai toe ʻiloʻi ia ʻe hono potu.
nether schal turne ayen more in to his hows, and his place schal no more knowe hym.
11 “Ko ia ʻe ʻikai te u taʻofi ki hoku ngutu; te u lea ʻi he ongosia ʻo hoku laumālie; te u lāunga ʻi he mamahi ʻo hoku laumālie.
Wherfor and Y schal not spare my mouth; Y schal speke in the tribulacioun of my spirit, Y schal talke togidere with the bitternesse of my soule.
12 He ko ha tahi au pe ko e tofuaʻa, koeʻuhi kuo ke fakanofo ha leʻo kiate au?
Whether Y am the see, ethir a whal, for thou hast cumpassid me with prisoun?
13 ‌ʻO kau ka pehē, ‘ʻE fakafiemālieʻi au ʻe hoku mohenga, ʻe fakasiʻisiʻi hoku mamahi ʻe hoku tokotoʻanga;’
If Y seie, My bed schal coumfort me, and Y schal be releeuyd, spekynge with me in my bed;
14 ‌ʻOku ke fakailifiaʻi au ʻaki ʻae ngaahi misi, pea ke fakalilikaʻi au ʻi he ngaahi meʻa hā mai:
thou schalt make me aferd bi dremys, and thou schalt schake me with `orrour, ethir hidousnesse, `bi siytis.
15 Ko ia ʻoku fili ai ʻe hoku laumālie ʻae sisina, mo e mate ʻi heʻeku moʻui.
Wherfor my soule `chees hangyng, and my boonys cheesiden deth.
16 ‌ʻOku ou fakaliliʻa ki ai; ʻe ʻikai te u fie moʻui ai pe: tuku ai pe au; he ko e vaʻinga pe ʻa hoku ngaahi ʻaho.
`Y dispeiride, now Y schal no more lyue; Lord, spare thou me, for my daies ben nouyt.
17 He ko e hā ʻae tangata, ʻoku ke hakeakiʻi ai ia? Pea koeʻuhi ke ke tukupau ho loto kiate ia?
What is a man, for thou `magnifiest hym? ether what settist thou thin herte toward hym?
18 Pea koeʻuhi ke ke ʻaʻahi ki ai ʻi he pongipongi kotoa pē, mo ʻahiʻahiʻi ia ʻi he kihiʻi feituʻulaʻā siʻi kotoa pē?
Thou visitist hym eerly, and sudeynli thou preuest hym.
19 ‌ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa mo e ʻikai te ke ʻalu ʻiate au, pe tuku pe au ke ʻoua muʻa ke u folo hifo hoku ifo?
Hou long sparist thou not me, nether suffrist me, that Y swolowe my spotele?
20 Kuo u fai angahala; ko e hā te u fai kiate koe, ʻa koe ko e fakamoʻui ʻoe kakai? Ko e hā kuo ke fokotuʻu ai au ko e fakaʻilonga maʻau, ke u hoko ai ko e kavenga, kiate au pe?
Y haue synned; A! thou kepere of men, what schal Y do to thee? Whi hast thou set me contrarie to thee, and Y am maad greuouse to my silf?
21 Pea ko e hā ʻoku ʻikai ai ke ke fakamolemole ʻeku angahala, pea toʻo atu ʻeku fai hala? He ko eni te u mohe pe ʻi he efu; pe te ke kumi au ʻi he pongipongi, ka ʻe ʻikai te u ʻi ai au.”
Whi doist thou not awei my sinne, and whi takist thou not awei my wickidnesse? Lo! now Y schal slepe in dust, and if thou sekist me eerli, Y schal not abide.
