1 Pea naʻe folofola pe ʻa Sihova kia Siope, ʻo pehē,
Moreover YHWH answered Job, and said,
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth Eloah, let him answer it.
Then Job answered YHWH, and said,
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Kuo u lea ʻo tuʻo taha ka ʻe ʻikai te u toe lea: ʻio, kuo tuʻo ua ka ʻe ʻikai te u toe lea atu.”
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Pea naʻe toki folofola ʻa Sihova kia Siope mei he ʻahiohio, ʻo pehē,
Then answered YHWH unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Te ke fakataʻeʻaongaʻi ʻa ʻeku fakamaau foki? Te ke fakahalaia au, koeʻuhi ke ke māʻoniʻoni koe?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Kuo ke maʻu ʻae nima ʻo hangē ko e ʻOtua? Pe ʻoku ke faʻa mana koe ʻaki ʻae leʻo ʻo hangē ko ia?
Hast thou an arm like El? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 “Ko eni, ke ke teuʻi koe ʻaki ʻae māfimafi mo e ngeia; mo ke kofuʻaki koe ʻae nāunau mo e toulekeleka.
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Tufaki ke mamaʻo ʻae tuputāmaki ʻo ho houhau: pea vakai kiate kinautolu taki taha kotoa pē ʻoku laukau, ʻo fakavaivai ia.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Vakai kiate ia kotoa pē ʻoku fielahi, pea ʻohifo ia ki lalo; pea molomoloki hifo ʻae kau angahala ʻi honau potu.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Fakafufū ʻakinautolu fakataha ʻi he efu; pea nonoʻo honau mata ʻi he lilo.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Pea te u toki fakamoʻoni kiate koe, ʻe faʻa fakamoʻui koe ʻe ho nima toʻomataʻu ʻoʻou.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Vakai, ʻoku ʻi hono fasiʻatuʻa ʻa hono mālohi, mo ʻene mafai ʻoku ʻi he pito ʻo hono kete.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 ‌ʻOku ne ueʻi hono iku ʻo hangē ko e sita: ko e uoua ʻo hono tenga ʻoku fefihitaki fakataha.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 Ko hono ngaahi hui ʻoku tatau mo e ngaahi konga palasa mālohi; ʻoku tatau hono ngaahi hui mo e ngaahi vaʻa ʻaione.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 Ko e lahi ia ʻoe ngaahi ngāue ʻae ʻOtua: ko ia naʻa ne ngaohi ia ʻoku ne faʻa fai ke fakaofi ʻene heletā kiate ia.
He is the chief of the ways of El: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Ko e moʻoni, ʻoku tupu hake ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga ʻae meʻakai maʻana, ʻaia ʻoku fakavā ai ʻae ngaahi manu kotoa pē ʻoe ngoue.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 ‌ʻOku tokoto ia ʻi he lolo ʻakau malumalu, ʻi he lilolilo ʻoe kaho, mo e ngaahi ano.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 Ko e ngaahi ʻakau malumalu ʻoku ʻufiʻufi ia ʻaki honau ata; ʻoku tuʻu takatakai ʻiate ia ʻae ngaahi uilou ʻoe vaitafe.
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 ‌ʻOku ne maʻu ia ʻaki hono mata: ʻoku ne tuiʻi ʻae ngaahi tauhele ʻaki hono iku.
He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
