< Selemaia 23 >

1 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, ʻE malaʻia ʻae kau tauhi ʻaia ʻoku fakaʻauha mo fakamovetevete ʻae fanga sipi ʻo ʻeku ngoue!
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture—this is Yahweh's declaration.”
2 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻo ʻIsileli ki he kau tauhi ʻoku fafanga ʻa hoku kakai; “Kuo mou fakamovetevete ʻeku fanga sipi, ʻo kapusi ʻakinautolu, pea kuo ʻikai ʻaʻahi ʻakinautolu: vakai, te u tautea ʻakimoutolu koeʻuhi ko e kovi ʻo hoʻomou ngaahi faianga, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.
Therefore Yahweh, the God of Israel, says this concerning the shepherds who are shepherding his people, “You have scattered my flock and have driven them away. You have not cared for them. So I am about to punish you for the evil you have done—this is Yahweh's declaration.
I myself will gather the remnant of my flock from all of the lands where I have driven them, and I will return them to a grazing place, where they will be fruitful and increase.
4 Pea te u fakanofo kiate kinautolu ʻae kau tauhi ʻaia ʻe fafanga ʻakinautolu: pea ʻe ʻikai te nau toe manavahē, pe vaivai, pea ʻe ʻikai te nau masiva, he ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.”
Then I will raise up shepherds over them who will shepherd them so they will no longer fear or be shattered. None of them will go missing—this is Yahweh's declaration.
See, the days are coming—this is Yahweh's declaration—when I will raise up for David a righteous branch. He will reign as king; he will act wisely and cause justice and righteousness in the land.
6 ‌ʻE fakamoʻui ʻa Siuta, pea ʻe nofo fiemālie ʻa ʻIsileli ʻi hono ngaahi ʻaho ko ia: pea ko hono huafa eni ʻe ui ai ia, KO SIHOVA KO HOTAU MĀʻONIʻONI.
In his days Judah will be rescued, and Israel will live in security. Then this is the name by which he will be called: Yahweh is our righteousness.
7 “Ko ia,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Vakai, ʻoku haʻu ʻae ngaahi ʻaho, ʻaia ʻe ʻikai te nau toe pehē ai, ʻOku moʻui ʻa Sihova, ʻaia naʻe ʻomi ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite.
Therefore see, days are coming—this is Yahweh's declaration—when they will no longer say, 'As Yahweh lives, who brought the people of Israel up from the land of Egypt.'
8 Ka, ʻOku moʻui ʻa Sihova, ʻaia naʻa ne ʻomi mo tataki mai ʻae hako ʻoe fale ʻo ʻIsileli mei he fonua ʻi he tokelau, pea mei he potu kotoa pē naʻaku kapusi ʻakinautolu ki ai; pea te nau nofo ʻi honau fonua ʻonautolu.”
Instead they will say, 'As Yahweh lives, who brought up and who led back the descendants of the house of Israel from the northern land and all the lands where they had been driven.' Then they will live in their own land.”
9 Kuo mafōfoa hoku loto ʻiate au, koeʻuhi ko e kau palōfita: ʻoku tetetete hoku ngaahi hui; ʻoku ou hangē ko e tangata konā, pea hangē ko e tangata kuo ikuna ʻe he uaine, koeʻuhi ko Sihova, mo ʻene ngaahi folofola māʻoniʻoni.
Regarding the prophets, my heart is broken in me, and all of my bones tremble. I have become like a drunk man, like a man whom wine has overpowered, because of Yahweh and his holy words.
10 He kuo fonu ʻae fonua ʻi he kau feʻauaki; pea ʻoku mamahi ʻae fonua koeʻuhi ko e kapekape; kuo mōmoa ʻae ngaahi potu ngoue ʻi he toafa, ʻoku kovi honau hala, pea ʻoku taʻetotonu ʻenau fakamālohi.
For the land is full of adulterers. Because of these the land is dried up. The meadows in the wilderness dry up. These prophets' paths are wicked; their power is not used in a right manner.
11 “He ʻoku halaia ʻae palōfita mo e taulaʻeiki fakatouʻosi; ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, Ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou ʻilo ʻenau kovi ʻi hoku fale.
“For both the prophets and the priests are polluted. I even found their wickedness in my house!—this is Yahweh's declaration—
12 Ko ia ʻe ʻiate kinautolu ʻa honau hala ʻo hangē ko e ngaahi hala kehekehe mo fakapoʻuli: pea ʻe tekeʻi atu ʻakinautolu, pea te nau hinga ai: he te u ʻomi ʻae kovi kiate kinautolu, ʻio, ko e taʻu ʻa honau tautea, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova:
therefore their way will be like a slippery place in the darkness. They will be pushed down. They will fall in it. For I will send disaster against them in the year of their punishment—this is Yahweh's declaration.
13 Pea kuo u mamata ki he vale ʻi he kau palōfita ʻo Samēlia; he kuo nau kikite ia Peali, pea nau fakahalaia ʻa hoku kakai ko ʻIsileli.
For I have seen the prophets in Samaria doing what is repulsive: They prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray.
14 Pea ʻi he kau palōfita ʻo Selūsalema, kuo u mamata foki ki he meʻa fakailifia: kuo nau fai feʻauaki, pea ʻaʻeva ʻi he ngaahi loi: kuo nau tokoni foki ʻae nima ʻoe kau fai kovi, pea ko ia ʻoku ʻikai tafoki ai ha taha mei heʻene angahala: kuo nau hoko kotoa pē ʻo hangē ko Sotoma kiate au, pea mo hono kakai ʻo hangē ko Komola.
Among the prophets in Jerusalem I have seen horrible things: They commit adultery and walk in deceit. They strengthen the hands of evildoers; no one turns back from his evildoing. All of them have become like Sodom to me and its inhabitants like Gomorrah!”
15 “Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau koeʻuhi ko e kau palōfita: Vakai, te u fafanga ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae ʻakau kona, pea te u foaki kiate kinautolu ʻae huhuʻa ʻoe ʻahu ke nau inu: he kuo ʻalu atu ʻae kākā ki he fonua kotoa pē, mei he kau palōfita ʻo Selūsalema.”
Therefore Yahweh of hosts says this concerning the prophets, “Look, I am about to make them eat wormwood and drink poisonous water, for pollution has gone out from the prophets of Jerusalem to all the land.”
16 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻa Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, “ʻOua naʻa fanongo ki he ngaahi lea ʻae kau palōfita, ʻakinautolu ʻoku kikite kiate kimoutolu, ʻoku nau fielahiʻi ʻakimoutolu: ʻoku nau lea ʻaki ʻae meʻa ʻi honau loto, ka ʻoku ʻikai mei he fofonga ʻo Sihova.
Yahweh of hosts says this, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They have deluded you! They are announcing visions from their own minds, not from Yahweh's mouth.
17 ‌ʻOku nau kei lea pehē kiate kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate au, naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova, Te mou fiemālie; pea ʻoku nau lea pehē kiate kinautolu taki taha ʻoku muimui ki he holi ʻa hono loto, ʻE ʻikai hoko ha kovi kiate kimoutolu.”
They are constantly saying to those who dishonor me, 'Yahweh declares there will be peace for you.' For everyone walking in the stubbornness of his own heart says, 'Disaster will not come upon you.'
18 “He ko hai naʻe tuʻu ʻi he potu lilo ʻa Sihova, ke ne ʻilo mo fanongo ki heʻene folofola? Ko hai kuo fanongo ki heʻene folofola, mo tokanga ki ai?
Yet who has stood in Yahweh's council meeting? Who sees and hears his word? Who pays attention to his word and listens?
19 Vakai, kuo ʻalu atu ʻia Sihova ʻae matangi ʻahiohio ʻi he houhau, ko e matangi ʻahiohio ʻoku fonu ʻi he kovi: pea ʻe tō lahi ia ki he ʻulu ʻoe angahala.
See, there is a storm coming from Yahweh! His fury is going out, and a tempest is whirling about. It is whirling around the heads of the wicked.
20 ‌ʻE ʻikai tafoki ʻae houhau ʻo Sihova kaeʻoua ke ne fai, mo fakaʻosi kotoa pē ʻaia ʻoku ne finangalo ki ai: pea te mou ʻilo lahi ʻae meʻa ni ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻamui.”
Yahweh's wrath will not return until it has carried out and brought into being his heart's intentions. In the final days, you will understand it.
21 Naʻe ʻikai te u fekau ʻae kau palōfita na, ka naʻa nau lele: naʻe ʻikai te u lea kiate kinautolu, ka kuo nau kikite.
I did not send out these prophets. They just appeared. I did not proclaim anything to them, but they have still prophesied.
22 Kapau naʻa nau tuʻumaʻu ʻi heʻeku fakakaukau, pea fakahā ki hoku kakai ʻeku ngaahi lea, pehē te nau toki fakatafoki ʻakinautolu mei honau hala kovi, pea mei he kovi ʻo ʻenau ngaahi faianga.”
For if they had stood in my council meeting, they would have caused my people to hear my word; they would have caused them to turn from their wicked words and corrupt practices.
23 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Ko e ʻOtua au ʻoe ofi pe, pea ʻikai ko e ʻOtua ʻoe mamaʻo foki?
Am I only a God nearby—this is Yahweh's declaration—and not also a God far away?
24 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, ʻE faʻa fakafufū ia ʻe ha taha ʻi ha ngaahi potu lilo ke ʻoua naʻaku ʻilo ia? ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, He ʻoku ʻikai fonu ʻae langi mo māmani ʻiate au?
Can anyone hide in a secret place so I cannot see him?—this is Yahweh's declaration— and do I not fill the heavens and the earth?—this is Yahweh's declaration.
25 Kuo u fanongo ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoku lea ʻaki ʻe he kau palōfita, ʻakinautolu ʻoku kikite loi ʻi hoku huafa, ʻo pehē, kuo u misi, kuo u misi.
I have heard what the prophets have said, those who were prophesying deceit in my name. They said, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!'
26 ‌ʻE fēfē hono fuoloa ʻoe meʻa ni ʻi he loto ʻoe kau palōfita ʻoku kikite ʻaki ʻae ngaahi loi? ʻio, ko e kau palōfita ʻoku kākā mei honau loto;
How long will this go on, prophets who prophesy lies from their minds, and who prophesy from the deceit in their hearts?
27 ‌ʻAkinautolu ni ʻoku fie fakangaloʻi fakangaloʻi hoku huafa ʻe heʻenau ngaahi tamai koeʻuhi ko Peali.
They are planning on making my people forget my name with the dreams that they report, each one to his neighbor, just as their ancestors forgot my name in favor of Baal's name.
28 Ko e palōfita ʻoku maʻu ha misi tuku ke ne lea ʻaki ʻae misi; pea ko ia ʻoku maʻu ʻeku folofola, tuku ke ne lea moʻoni ʻaki ʻeku folofola ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, Ko e hā ʻae kafukafu ʻi he uite?
The prophet who has a dream, let him report the dream. But the one to whom I have declared something, let him declare my word truthfully. What does straw have to do with grain?—this is Yahweh's declaration—
29 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova; ʻIkai ʻoku tatau ʻeku folofola mo e afi? Pea hangē ko e hamala ke tā mo laiki ʻaki ʻae maka?
Is not my word like fire?—this is Yahweh's declaration—and like a hammer that shatters a rock into pieces?
30 Ko ia, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, Vakai, ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki he palōfita, ʻoku nau taki taha kaihaʻa ʻeku lea mei hono kaungāʻapi
So see, I am against the prophets—this is Yahweh's declaration—anyone who steals words from another person and says they come from me.
31 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, Vakai, ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki he kau palōfita, ʻakinautolu ʻoku nau lea ʻaki honau ʻelelo, ʻo pehē, ʻOku pehē ʻe ia.
See, I am against the prophets—this is Yahweh's declaration—who use their tongues to prophesy proclamations.
32 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, Vakai, ʻoku ou fehiʻa kiate kinautolu ʻoku kikite ʻaki ʻae ngaahi misi kākā, pea lea ʻaki ia, pea fakahalaʻi ʻa hoku kakai ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi loi, mo e kākā; ka naʻe ʻikai te u tala ke nau ʻalu, pe fekau ʻakinautolu: ko ia ʻe ʻikai siʻi te nau momoʻi ʻaonga ki he kakai ni, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.”
See, I am against the prophets who dream deceitfully—this is Yahweh's declaration—and then proclaim them and in this way mislead my people with their deceit and boasting. I am against them, for I have not sent them out nor given them commands. So they will certainly not help this people—this is Yahweh's declaration.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, ‘Ko e moʻoni te u liʻaki ʻakimoutolu.’
When these people, or a prophet, or a priest asks you, 'What is the burden of Yahweh?' you will say to them, 'You are the burden, and I will cast you off'—this is Yahweh's declaration.
34 Pea ko e palōfita, mo e taulaʻeiki, pea mo e kakai, ʻaia te nau pehē, ‘Ko e lea mamafa meia Sihova, Te u tautea ʻae tangata ko ia mo hono fale.’
As for the prophets, priests, and people who are saying, 'This is the burden of Yahweh' I will punish that man and his house.
35 Pea te mou taki taha fepehēʻaki ki hono kaungāʻapi, pea taki taha ki hono tokoua, ‘Ko e hā ʻae tala ʻa Sihova?’ Pea, ‘Ko e hā kuo folofolaʻaki ʻe Sihova?’
You continue to say, each person to his neighbor and each man to his brother, 'What did Yahweh answer?' and 'What did Yahweh declare?'
36 Pea ʻe ʻikai te mou toe lea ki he lea mamafa meia Sihova: he ko e lea ʻae tangata taki taha ko ʻene kavenga ia; he kuo mou fakakehe ʻae folofola ʻae ʻOtua moʻui, ko Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau ko hotau ʻOtua.
But you must no longer talk about the 'burden of Yahweh,' for the burden is every man's own word, and you have perverted the words of the living God, Yahweh of hosts, our God.
37 Pea te ke lea pehē ki he palōfita, ‘Ko e hā ʻae tali ʻa Sihova kiate koe?’ Pea, ‘Ko e hā kuo folofolaʻaki ʻe Sihova?’
This is what you will say to the prophet, 'What answer did Yahweh give you? or 'What did Yahweh say?'
38 Ka ʻi hoʻomou pehē mai, ‘Ko e lea mamafa meia Sihova;’ ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, koeʻuhi ʻoku mou lea ʻaki ʻae lea ni, ‘Ko e tala mamafa meia Sihova,’ pea kuo u fekau kiate kimoutolu, ʻo pehē, ʻoua naʻa mou pehē, ‘Ko e lea mamafa meia Sihova?’
But if you say, 'The burden of Yahweh', this is what Yahweh says: 'Because you have said these words, 'The burden of Yahweh,' when I sent to you, saying, 'You will not say, “The burden of Yahweh,”'
39 Ko ia, Vakai, Ko au, ʻIo, Ko au, te u fakangalongaloʻi ʻaupito ʻakimoutolu, pea te u liʻaki ʻakimoutolu, pea mo e kolo naʻaku foaki kiate kimoutolu mo hoʻomou ngaahi tamai, pea te u kapusi ʻakimoutolu ʻi hoku ʻao:
therefore, behold, I am about to pick you up and throw you away from me, along with the city that I gave you and your ancestors.
40 Pea te u fakaongoongo koviʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻo taʻengata, pea fakatupu kiate kimoutolu ʻae mā ʻo taʻengata, ʻaia ʻe ʻikai fakangalongaloʻi.”
Then I will put everlasting shame and insult on you that will not be forgotten.'”
