< Selemaia 15 >
1 Pea naʻe toki pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, “Kapau ʻe tuʻu ʻi hoku ʻao ʻa Mōsese mo Samuela, ʻe ʻikai te u tokanga ki he kakai ni: kapusi ʻakinautolu ʻi hoku ʻao, pea tuku ke nau ʻalu atu.
Then the LORD said to me, “Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not turn towards this people. Cast them out of my sight, and let them go out!
2 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻo kapau te nau lea kiate koe, Te mau ʻalu ki fē? pea te ke tala kiate kinautolu, ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova; Ko kinautolu, kuo tuʻutuʻuni ki he mate, te nau mate; pea ko kinautolu ʻoku tuʻutuʻuni ki he heletā, te nau ʻi he heletā; pea ko kinautolu ʻoku tuʻutuʻuni ki he honge, te nau ʻi he honge; pea ko kinautolu kuo tuʻutuʻuni ki he fakapōpula, te nau ʻalu ki he fakapōpula.
It will happen when they ask you, ‘Where shall we go out?’ then you shall tell them, ‘The LORD says: “Such as are for death, to death; such as are for the sword, to the sword; such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”’
3 ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, Te u tuʻutuʻuni kiate kinautolu ʻae faʻahinga meʻa ʻe fā: ko e heletā ke tāmateʻi, ko e fanga kulī ke haehae, ko e manu ʻoe ʻatā, pea mo e ngaahi manu ʻoe fonua, ke folo hifo pea fakaʻauha.
“I will appoint over them four kinds,” says the LORD: “the sword to kill, the dogs to tear, the birds of the sky, and the animals of the earth, to devour and to destroy.
4 Pea te u tukuange ʻakinautolu ke ʻave ki he ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻo māmani, koeʻuhi ko Manase ko e foha ʻo Hesekaia ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, pea koeʻuhi ko e meʻa naʻa ne fai ʻi Selūsalema.”
I will cause them to be tossed back and forth amongst all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
5 “He ko hai ʻe ʻofa kiate koe, ʻE Selūsalema? Pe ko hai ʻe mamahi mo koe? Pe ko hai ʻe afe atu ke fehuʻi pe ʻoku ke fēfē?
For who will have pity on you, Jerusalem? Who will mourn you? Who will come to ask of your welfare?
6 ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, kuo ke fakaholomui meiate au; ko ia te u mafao atu hoku nima kiate koe, mo fakaʻauha koe; kuo u fiu ʻi he kātaki.
You have rejected me,” says the LORD. “You have gone backward. Therefore I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you. I am weary of showing compassion.
7 Pea te u tapili ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻae tapili ʻi he ngaahi matapā ʻoe fonua; te u toʻo ʻenau fānau, te u fakaʻauha ʻa hoku kakai, ko e meʻa ʻi heʻenau taʻetafoki mei honau ngaahi hala.
I have winnowed them with a fan in the gates of the land. I have bereaved them of children. I have destroyed my people. They didn’t return from their ways.
8 Kuo fakatokolahi ʻi hoku ʻao honau kau fefine ʻoku mate honau husepāniti ʻo lahi hake ʻi he ʻoneʻone ʻoe ngaahi tahi: kuo u ʻomi ki heʻenau faʻē ha tokotaha ʻoku fakaʻauha ʻi he hoʻatā: kuo u pule kiate ia ke fai ia fakafokifā pe, ko e ngaahi fakailifia ki he kolo.
Their widows are increased more than the sand of the seas. I have brought on them against the mother of the young men a destroyer at noonday. I have caused anguish and terrors to fall on her suddenly.
9 Pea kuo vaivai ia ʻaia kuo fāʻeleʻi ʻae toko fitu: kuo ne tuku hake hono laumālie; kuo tō hifo hono laʻā ʻi he kei ʻaho: kuo mā ia mo puputuʻu: pea ko kinautolu ʻoku toe te u tukuange ki he heletā ʻi he ʻao ʻo honau ngaahi fili, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.”
She who has borne seven languishes. She has given up the spirit. Her sun has gone down while it was yet day. She has been disappointed and confounded. I will deliver their residue to the sword before their enemies,” says the LORD.
10 ʻA ʻeku faʻē, ʻoku ou malaʻia, koeʻuhi kuo ke fāʻeleʻi au ko e tangata faʻa fekeʻikeʻi pea ko e tangata fakakikihi mo māmani kotoa pē! Pea ʻoku teʻeki ai te u nō ha meʻa ki he totongi, pea naʻe ʻikai nō kiate au ʻe ha tangata ki he totongi; ka ʻoku nau taki taha kapeʻi au.
Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet every one of them curses me.
11 Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova, Ko e moʻoni ʻe lelei hoʻo hako; te u pule ki he fili ke ne fai lelei kiate koe ʻi he ʻaho ʻoe kovi mo e mamahi.
The LORD said, “Most certainly I will strengthen you for good. Most certainly I will cause the enemy to make supplication to you in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
12 ʻE fesiʻi ʻe he ukamea ʻae ukamea mei he tokelau, pea mo e sitili?
Can one break iron, even iron from the north, and bronze?
13 “Pea te u foaki hoʻo meʻa mo hoʻo koloa ke vetea taʻehatotongi, ko e meʻa ʻi hoʻo ngaahi angahala, ʻi he ngataʻanga kotoa pē ʻoe fonua.
I will give your substance and your treasures for a plunder without price, and that for all your sins, even in all your borders.
14 Pea te u pule ke ke ʻalu mo ho ngaahi fili ki he fonua ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai te ke ʻiloa; he kuo tutu ʻae afi ʻi hoku houhau, ʻaia ʻe vela ai ʻakimoutolu.”
I will make them to pass with your enemies into a land which you don’t know; for a fire is kindled in my anger, which will burn on you.”
15 “ʻE Sihova ʻoku ke ʻafioʻi: manatuʻi au, pea ʻaʻahi kiate au, pea totongi kiate kinautolu kuo fakatangaʻi au; ʻoua naʻa ke ʻave au koeʻuhi ko hoʻo kātaki ʻofa: ke ke ʻafio kuo u kātaki ʻae manuki koeʻuhi ko koe.
LORD, you know. Remember me, visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors. You are patient, so don’t take me away. Know that for your sake I have suffered reproach.
16 Pea naʻe ʻiloa hoʻo ngaahi lea, pea ko ʻeku meʻakai ia; pea ko hoʻo folofola ko e fiemālie pea mo e fakafiefia ki hoku loto: he kuo ui au ʻi ho huafa, ʻE Sihova ko e ʻOtua ʻoe ngaahi kautau.
Your words were found, and I ate them. Your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart, for I am called by your name, LORD, God of Hosts.
17 Naʻe ʻikai te u nofo ʻi he fakataha ʻae kau manuki, pea naʻe ʻikai te u fiefia ka naʻaku nofo tokotaha pe koeʻuhi ko ho nima: he kuo ke fakapito ʻaki au ʻae tuputāmaki.”
I didn’t sit in the assembly of those who make merry and rejoice. I sat alone because of your hand, for you have filled me with indignation.
18 “Ko e hā ʻoku pehē ai pe ʻeku mamahi, mo hoku lavea taʻefaʻafakamoʻui, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai fie moʻui? Te ke ʻiate au ʻo hangē ko e meʻa loi, pea ʻo hangē ko e vai kuo fakaʻaʻau ke maha?
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? Will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?
Therefore the LORD says, “If you return, then I will bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take out the precious from the vile, you will be as my mouth. They will return to you, but you will not return to them.
20 Pea ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, te u ngaohi koe ki he kakai ni ke ke hangē ko e ʻa palasa: pea te nau tauʻi koe, ka ʻe ʻikai te nau lavaʻi koe: he ʻoku ou ʻiate koe ke fakamoʻui koe, pea ke fakahaofi koe.
I will make you to this people a fortified bronze wall. They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you,” says the LORD.
21 Pea te u fakahaofi koe mei he nima ʻoe angahala, pea te u huhuʻi koe mei he nima ʻoe mālohi.”
“I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.”
