< ʻIsaia 7 >
1 Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo ʻAhasi ko e foha ʻo Sotame, ko e foha ʻo ʻUsia, ko e tuʻi ʻo Siuta, naʻe ʻalu hake ki Selūsalema, ʻa Lesini ko e tuʻi ʻo Silia, mo Peka ko e foha ʻo Lemalia, ko e tuʻi ʻo ʻIsileli, ke tauʻi ia ka naʻe ʻikai te na faʻa lava ia.
And in the dayes of Ahaz, the sonne of Iotham, the sonne of Vzziah king of Iudah, Rezin the King of Aram came vp, and Pekah the sonne of Remaliah King of Israel, to Ierusalem to fight against it, but he could not ouercome it.
2 Pea naʻe fakahā ki he fale ʻo Tevita, ʻo pehē, ʻOku kau fakataha ʻa Silia mo ʻIfalemi. Pea naʻe ngaueue hono loto, mo e loto ʻo hono kakai, ʻo hangē ʻoku lūluuʻi ʻe he matangi ʻae ngaahi ʻakau ʻoe vao.
And it was tolde the house of Dauid, saying, Aram is ioyned with Ephraim: therefore his heart was moued, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moued by the winde.
3 Pea naʻe toki pehē ʻe Sihova kia ʻIsaia, “ʻAlu atu ʻo fakafetaulaki kia ʻAhasi, ʻa koe mo Siasasupe ko ho foha, ʻi he ngataʻanga ʻoe tafeʻanga ʻoe vai taupotu ki ʻolunga ʻi he hala lahi ʻoe ngoue ʻae tangata fakamaʻa kofu;
Then sayde the Lord vnto Isaiah, Goe foorth nowe to meete Ahaz (thou and Sheariashub thy sonne) at the ende of the conduit of the vpper poole, in the path of the fullers fielde,
4 Pea te ke pehē kiate ia, Tokanga, pea ke fiemālie; ʻoua ʻe manavahē, pea ʻoua naʻa vaivai ho loto ki he potuʻi toume ʻoe ongo tūhulu ʻoku kohu ni, ki he ʻita lahi ʻo Lesini pea mo Silia, pea mo e foha ʻo Lemalia.
And say vnto him, Take heede, and be still: feare not, neither be faint hearted for the two tailes of these smoking firebrands, for the furious wrath of Rezin and of Aram, and of Remaliahs sonne:
5 Koeʻuhi kuo fakakaukau ki he kovi ke fai kiate koe, ʻe Silia, mo ʻIfalemi, pea mo e foha ʻo Lemalia, ʻo pehē,
Because Aram hath taken wicked counsell against thee, and Ephraim, and Remaliahs sonne, saying,
6 Ke tau ʻalu ʻo tauʻi ʻa Siuta, pea fakamamahiʻi, pea ke tau ngaohi ke ava hono potu moʻotautolu, pea fokotuʻu ha tuʻi ʻi ai, ʻio, ʻae foha ʻo Tapeale:
Let vs goe vp against Iudah, and let vs waken them vp, and make a breach therein for vs, and set a King in the mids thereof, euen the sonne of Tabeal.
7 ʻOku pehē ʻe he ʻEiki ko Sihova, “ʻE ʻikai tuʻumaʻu ia, pea ʻe ʻikai hoko ia.
Thus sayth the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it be.
8 He ko e ʻulu ʻo Silia ko Tamasikusi, pea ko e ʻulu ʻo Tamasikusi ko Lesini; pea ʻi he teʻeki ke kakato ʻae taʻu ʻe onongofulu ma nima ʻe maumauʻi ʻa ʻIfalemi, ke ʻoua naʻa kei ai hano kakai.
For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin: and within fiue and threescore yeere, Ephraim shalbe destroyed from being a people.
9 Pea ko e ʻulu ʻo ʻIfalemi ko Samēlia, pea ko e ʻulu ʻo Samēlia ʻae foha ʻo Lemalia. Kapau ʻe ʻikai te mou tui, ko e moʻoni ʻe ʻikai te mou tuʻumaʻu.
And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliahs sonne. If ye beleeue not, surely ye shall not be established.
10 Pea naʻe toe folofola ʻa Sihova kia ʻAhasi, ʻo pehē,
And the Lord spake againe vnto Ahaz, saying,
11 “Ke ke kole ha fakaʻilonga meia Sihova ko ho ʻOtua; kole ia mei he loloto, pe mei he langi ʻi ʻolunga.” (Sheol )
Aske a signe for thee of the Lord thy God: aske it, either in the depth beneath or in the height aboue. (Sheol )
12 Ka naʻe pehē ʻe ʻAhasi, “ʻE ʻikai te u kole, pea ʻe ʻikai te u ʻahiʻahi kovi kia Sihova.”
But Ahaz sayd, I wil not aske, neither will I tempt the Lord.
13 Pea naʻa ne pehē, “Fanongo mai, ʻae fale ʻo Tevita; He ko e meʻa siʻi ke ke fakafiuʻi ʻae tangata, ka te ke fakafiuʻi mo hoku ʻOtua foki?
Then he sayd, Heare you nowe, O house of Dauid, Is it a small thing for you to grieue men, that ye will also grieue my God?
14 Ko ia ko Sihova pe te ne ʻatu kiate koe ʻae fakaʻilonga; Vakai, ʻe tuituʻia ʻae tāupoʻou, pea ʻe fāʻeleʻi ʻae tama, pea ʻe ui hono huafa ko ʻImanuela.
Therefore the Lord himselfe will giue you a signe. Beholde, the virgine shall conceiue and beare a sonne, and she shall call his name Immanu-el.
15 Te ne kai ʻae pota mo e honi, koeʻuhi ke ne ʻilo ke siʻaki ʻae kovi, pea fili ʻae lelei.
Butter and hony shall he eate, till he haue knowledge to refuse the euill, and to chuse the good.
16 ʻI he teʻeki ke ʻilo ʻe he tamasiʻi ke siʻaki ʻae kovi, pea fili ʻae lelei, ʻe mole mei he fonua ʻoku ke fehiʻa ki ai ʻa hono ongo tuʻi ʻe toko ua.
For afore the childe shall haue knowledge to eschew the euill, and to chuse the good, the land, that thou abhorrest, shalbe forsaken of both her Kings.
17 “ʻE fakahoko e Sihova kiate koe, pea ki hoʻo kakai, pea ki he fale ʻo hoʻo tamai, ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ʻoku teʻeki ai hano tatau, talu ʻae ʻaho naʻe mahuʻi ʻa ʻIfalemi mei Siuta, ʻio, ʻae tuʻi ʻo ʻAsilia.
The Lord shall bring vpon thee, and vpon thy people, and vpon thy fathers house (the dayes that haue not come from the day that Ephraim departed from Iudah) euen the King of Asshur.
18 Pea ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻe ui ʻe Sihova ke haʻu ʻae lango mei he vaitafe ʻi he ngaahi ngataʻanga ʻo ʻIsipite, pea mo e pi ʻoku ʻi he fonua ko ʻAsilia.
And in that day shall the Lord hisse for the flie that is at the vttermost part of the floods of Egypt, and for the bee which is in the lande of Asshur,
19 Pea te nau haʻu, pea ʻe nofo ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻi he ngaahi teleʻa liʻaki; pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻana maka, pea ʻi he ngaahi ʻakau talatala kotoa pē, mo e ngaahi ʻakau kotoa pē.
And they shall come and shall light all in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rockes, and vpon all thorny places, and vpon all bushy places.
20 ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe fafai ʻe Sihova ʻaki ʻae tele kuo maʻu ʻi he totongi, ʻiate kinautolu ʻi he tuʻa vaitafe, ʻio, ʻae tuʻi ʻo ʻAsilia, ʻae ʻulu pea mo e fulufulu ʻoe vaʻe: pea te ne fakaʻosi mo e kava foki.
In that day shall the Lord shaue with a rasor that is hired, euen by them beyond the Riuer, by the King of Asshur, the head and the heare of the feete, and it shall consume the beard.
21 Pea ʻe hoko ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻe tauhi ʻe ha tangata ʻae pulu mui fefine, mo e sipi ʻe ua;
And in the same day shall a man nourish a yong kow, and two sheepe.
22 Pea ʻe pehē, ʻi he lahi ʻoe huʻahuhu ʻe maʻu mei ai, ko ia te ne kai pota, he ko e pota mo e hone ʻe kai ʻekinautolu fulipē ʻoku toe ʻi he fonua.
And for the abundance of milke, that they shall giue, hee shall eate butter: for butter and hony shall euery one eate, which is left within the land.
23 Pea ʻe hoko ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻo pehē, ko e potu kotoa pē naʻe ʻi ai ʻae vaine ʻe afe ʻo tatau mo e konga siliva ʻe afe, ʻe tupu ʻi ai ʻae ʻakau talatala mo e talatalaʻāmoa.
And at the same day euery place, wherein shalbe a thousand vines, shalbe at a thousand pieces of siluer: so it shalbe for the briers and for the thornes.
With arrowes and with bowe shall one come thither: because all the land shall be briers and thornes.
25 Pea ʻi he ngaahi māʻolunga kotoa pē ʻe keli ʻaki ʻae huo, ʻe ʻikai hoko ki ai ʻae manavahē ki he ʻakau talatala: ka ko e potu ia ke ʻave ki ai ʻae fanga pulu, pea ke moloki ia ʻe he fanga sipi.”
But on all the mountaines, which shalbe digged with the mattocke, there shall not come thither the feare of briers and thornes: but they shalbe for the sending out of bullocks, and for the treading of sheepe.
