< ʻIsaia 65 >

“I am inquired of by those who didn’t ask. I am found by those who didn’t seek me. I said, ‘See me, see me,’ to a nation that was not called by my name.
2 Kuo u mafao atu hoku nima ʻi he ʻaho kotoa ki he kakai angatuʻu, ʻaia ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻi he hala ʻoku ʻikai lelei, ʻo hangē ko ʻenau ngaahi filioʻi:
I have spread out my hands all day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts;
3 Ko e kakai ʻoku fakahouhau kiate au maʻuaipē ki hoku fofonga; ʻoku fai feilaulau ʻi he ngaahi ngoue, pea ʻoku tutu ʻae meʻa namu kakala ʻi he ngaahi ʻesi makaʻumea;
a people who provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense on bricks;
4 ‌ʻAkinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he ngaahi tanuʻanga, pea ʻi he ngaahi fale māʻolunga, ʻoku kai ʻae kakano ʻoe puaka, pea ko e vaihū ʻoe ngaahi meʻa fakalielia ʻoku ʻi he ʻenau ngaahi ipu;
who sit among the graves, and spend nights in secret places; who eat pig’s meat, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
5 ‌ʻAkinautolu ʻoku pehē, ‘Tuʻu tokotaha pe koe, ʻoua ʻe haʻu ke ofi kiate au; he ʻoku ou māʻoniʻoni hake ʻiate koe.’ Ko e ʻohuafi ʻakinautolu ni ʻi hoku fofonga, ko e afi ʻoku ulo ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē.
who say, ‘Stay by yourself, don’t come near to me, for I am holier than you.’ These are smoke in my nose, a fire that burns all day.
6 “Vakai, ʻoku tohi ʻi hoku ʻao: ʻE ʻikai te u fakalongo pe, ka te u totongi, ʻio, ʻe ai ʻae totongi ki honau fatafata.
“Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will repay, yes, I will repay into their bosom
7 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Ko hoʻomou angahia, mo e angahala ʻa hoʻomou ngaahi tamai fakataha, ʻakinautolu kuo tutu ʻae meʻa namu kakala ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga, pea kape kiate au ʻi he ngaahi potu tafungofunga: ko ia te u fua ʻa ʻenau muʻaki ngāue ki honau fatafata.
your own iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together”, says Yahweh, “who have burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed me on the hills. Therefore I will first measure their work into their bosom.”
8 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻO hangē ʻoku ʻilo ʻae uaine foʻou ʻi he fuhi, pea ʻoku pehē ʻe ha taha, ‘ʻoua ʻe fakaʻauha ia; he ʻoku ʻi ai ha tāpuaki;’ te u fai pehē koeʻuhi ko ʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua naʻaku fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu kotoa pē.
Yahweh says, “As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Don’t destroy it, for a blessing is in it:’ so I will do for my servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all.
9 Pea te u ʻomi ha hako meia Sēkope, pea mei Siuta ha taha ke maʻu hoku ngaahi moʻunga: pea ʻe maʻu ia ʻe hoku kakai fili, pea ʻe nofo ai ʻa ʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki.
I will bring offspring out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains. My chosen will inherit it, and my servants will dwell there.
10 Pea ʻe hoko ʻa Saloni ko e loto ʻā ʻae fanga sipi, pea ko e teleʻa ʻo ʻAkoli ko e tokotoʻanga ʻoe fanga manu, maʻa hoku kakai ʻaia kuo kumi kiate au.
Sharon will be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down in, for my people who have sought me.
11 “Ka ko kimoutolu kuo mou liʻaki ʻa Sihova, kuo fakangalongaloʻi hoku moʻunga tapu, ʻoku mou teuteu ha keinangaʻanga maʻa Kata, pea ʻoku ʻatu ʻae feilaulau inu kia Meni.
“But you who forsake Yahweh, who forget my holy mountain, who prepare a table for Fortune, and who fill up mixed wine to Destiny;
12 Ko ia te u lau ai ʻakimoutolu ki he heletā, pea te mou punou kotoa pē ki he tāmateʻi: koeʻuhi ʻi heʻeku ui, naʻe ʻikai te mou tali; ʻi heʻeku lea, naʻe ʻikai te mou fanongo; ka naʻa mou fai kovi ʻi hoku ʻao, mo fili ʻaia naʻe ʻikai te u fiemālie ai.
I will destine you to the sword, and you will all bow down to the slaughter; because when I called, you didn’t answer. When I spoke, you didn’t listen; but you did that which was evil in my eyes, and chose that in which I didn’t delight.”
13 Ko ia ʻoku pehē ʻe he ʻOtua ko Sihova, “Vakai, ʻe kai ʻe heʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki, ka te mou fiekaia: vakai, ʻe inu ʻe heʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki, ka te mou fieinua: vakai, ʻe fiefia ʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki, ka e mā ʻakimoutolu.
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, my servants will eat, but you will be hungry; behold, my servants will drink, but you will be thirsty. Behold, my servants will rejoice, but you will be disappointed.
14 Vakai, ʻe hivehiva ʻeku kau tamaioʻeiki koeʻuhi ko e fiefia ʻoe loto, ka te mou tangi koeʻuhi ko e mamahi ʻoe loto, pea ʻe tangilāulau ʻi he mamahi ʻoe laumālie.
Behold, my servants will sing for joy of heart, but you will cry for sorrow of heart, and will wail for anguish of spirit.
15 Pea te mou tuku homou hingoa ko e fakamamahi kiate kinautolu kuo u fili: koeʻuhi ʻe tāmateʻi ʻakimoutolu ʻe he ʻEiki ko Sihova, pea ui ʻene kau tamaioʻeiki ʻaki ha hingoa kehe:
You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen, and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name,
16 Koeʻuhi ko ia ʻoku ne tāpuaki ia ʻi he fonua te ne tāpuaki ia ʻi he ʻOtua ʻoe moʻoni; pea ko ia ʻoku fuakava ʻi he fonua te ne fuakava ʻi he ʻOtua ʻoe moʻoni; koeʻuhi kuo fakangalo ʻae ngaahi muʻaki mamahi, pea koeʻuhi kuo fakafufū ia mei hoku fofonga.
so that he who blesses himself in the earth will bless himself in the God of truth; and he who swears in the earth will swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from my eyes.
17 “Vakai, he ʻoku ou fakatupu ʻae ngaahi langi foʻou pea mo e fonua foʻou: pea ʻe ʻikai manatu ʻaia naʻe ʻi muʻa, pe ai ha manatu loto ki ai.
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things will not be remembered, nor come into mind.
18 Ka ke fiefia ʻakimoutolu pea nekeneka ʻo taʻengata ʻi he meʻa ʻoku ou fakatupu: he vakai, ʻoku ou ngaohi ʻa Selūsalema ko e fiefiaʻanga, pea ke fiefia ʻa hono kakai.
But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for, behold, I create Jerusalem to be a delight, and her people a joy.
I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and delight in my people; and the voice of weeping and the voice of crying will be heard in her no more.
20 “ʻE ʻikai toe ʻai ʻi ai ha tamasiʻi ʻoku moʻui fuonounou, pe ko ha tangata motuʻa ʻoku taʻekakato hono ngaahi ʻaho: he ko ia ʻe mate ʻi hono teau taʻu ʻe mate ko e tamasiʻi pe; pea ko e tangata angahala ʻoku mate ʻi hono teau taʻu ʻe malaʻia ia.
“No more will there be an infant who only lives a few days, nor an old man who has not filled his days; for the child will die one hundred years old, and the sinner being one hundred years old will be accursed.
21 Pea te nau langa ʻae ngaahi fale, pea nofo ai; pea te nau tō ʻae ngaahi vaine, pea kai ʻae fua ʻo ia.
They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
They will not build and another inhabit. They will not plant and another eat; for the days of my people will be like the days of a tree, and my chosen will long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 ‌ʻE ʻikai te nau ngāue taʻeʻaonga, pe fanauʻi ki he mamahi; he ko e hako ʻakinautolu kuo monūʻia ʻia Sihova, pea mo ʻenau fānau fakataha mo kinautolu.
They will not labor in vain nor give birth for calamity; for they are the offspring of Yahweh’s blessed and their descendants with them.
24 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ʻi he teʻeki te nau ui, te u tali; pea ʻi he lolotonga ʻenau lea, te u ongoʻi.
It will happen that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
25 ‌ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻE kai fakataha ʻae ulofi mo e lami, pea ʻe kai ʻe he laione ʻae kau ʻoe koane ʻo hangē ko e pulu: pea ko e meʻakai ʻoe ngata ko e efu. ʻE ʻikai te nau fakamamahi pe fakaʻauha ʻi [ha potu ʻo ]hoku moʻunga māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē.”
The wolf and the lamb will feed together. The lion will eat straw like the ox. Dust will be the serpent’s food. They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain,” says Yahweh.
