< ʻIsaia 63 >
1 Ko hai eni ʻoku haʻu mei ʻItomi, mo e kofu kulokula mei Posila? ʻA eni ʻoku nāunauʻia hono kofu, ʻo ne hāʻele ʻi he lahi ʻo hono mālohi? “Ko au ia ʻoku folofola ʻi he māʻoniʻoni, ko e māfimafi ke fakamoʻui.”
'Who is this that cometh from Edom, with crimsoned garments from Bozrah? This that is glorious in his apparel, stately in the greatness of his strength?' — 'I that speak in victory, mighty to save.' —
2 Ko e hā ʻoku kulokula ai ho ngaahi kofu, pea tatau ho ngaahi kofu mo ia ʻoku molomoloki ʻi he tataʻoʻanga uaine?
'Wherefore is Thine apparel red, and Thy garments like his that treadeth in the winevat?' —
3 “Kuo u molomoloki tokotaha pe ʻae tataʻoʻanga ʻoe uaine; pea naʻe ʻikai kau ha tokotaha kiate au: ne u molomoloki ʻakinautolu ʻi heʻeku ʻita, pea moeʻi ʻakinautolu ʻi hoku houhau lahi; pea kuo pani hoku kofuʻaki honau toto, pea ne u ngaohi ke lanu hoku ngaahi kofu kotoa pē.
'I have trodden the winepress alone, and of the peoples there was no man with Me; yea, I trod them in Mine anger, and trampled them in My fury; and their lifeblood is dashed against My garments, and I have stained all My raiment.
4 He ʻoku ʻi hoku loto ʻae ʻaho ʻoe fai totongi, pea kuo hokosia ʻae taʻu ʻo hoku huhuʻi.
For the day of vengeance that was in My heart, and My year of redemption are come.
5 Pea ne u vakai, pea naʻe ʻikai ha taha ke tokoni; pea ne u ofo ʻi he ʻikai ha taha ke poupou hake: ko ia naʻe ʻomi ʻe hoku nima ʻoʻoku ʻae fakamoʻui kiate au; pea ko hoku houhau, naʻa ne poupou au.
And I looked, and there was none to help, and I beheld in astonishment, and there was none to uphold; therefore Mine own arm brought salvation unto Me, and My fury, it upheld Me.
6 Pea ne u molomoloki ʻae kakai ʻi hoku houhau, pea ngaohi ke nau konā ʻi he houhau lahi, pea ne u ʻomi ʻenau mālohi ki he kelekele.”
And I trod down the peoples in Mine anger, and made them drunk with My fury, and I poured out their lifeblood on the earth.'
7 Te u fakahā ʻae ngaahi ʻaloʻofa ʻa Sihova, mo e ngaahi fakamālō ʻa Sihova, ʻo hangē ko ia kotoa pē kuo foaki ʻe Sihova kiate kitautolu, pea mo e angalelei lahi ki he fale ʻo ʻIsileli, ʻaia kuo ne foaki kiate kinautolu ʻo hangē ko ʻene ngaahi ʻaloʻofa, ʻo fakatatau mo hono lahi ʻaupito ʻo ʻene ʻaloʻofa ongongofua.
I will make mention of the mercies of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us; and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which He hath bestowed on them according to His compassions, and according to the multitude of His mercies.
8 He naʻa ne pehē, “Ko e moʻoni ko hoku kakai ʻakinautolu, ko e fānau ʻe ʻikai te nau loi;” pea naʻe hoko ia ko honau Fakamoʻui.
For He said: 'Surely, they are My people, children that will not deal falsely'; so He was their Saviour.
9 ʻI heʻenau mamahi kotoa pē naʻe mamahi ia, pea ko e ʻāngelo ʻo hono ʻao naʻa ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu: ʻi heʻene ʻofa mo ʻene manavaʻofa naʻa ne huhuʻi ʻakinautolu: pea ne toʻo hake ʻakinautolu, mo fua ʻakinautolu ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho kotoa pē ʻi muʻa.
In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the angel of His presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
10 Ka naʻa nau angatuʻu, pea fakamamahi ki hono Laumālie Māʻoniʻoni: ko ia naʻe liliu ai ia ko honau fili, pea naʻa ne tauʻi ʻakinautolu.
But they rebelled, and grieved His holy spirit; therefore He was turned to be their enemy, Himself fought against them.
11 Pea naʻa ne manatu ki he ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa, kia Mōsese, mo hono kakai, ʻo ne pehē, “ʻOku ʻi fē ia naʻe ʻomi ʻakinautolu mei he tahi, fakataha mo e tauhi ʻo ʻene fanga sipi? ʻOku ʻi fē ia ʻaia naʻe ʻai kiate ia hono Laumālie māʻoniʻoni?
Then His people remembered the days of old, the days of Moses: 'Where is He that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of His flock? Where is He that put His holy spirit in the midst of them?
12 ʻAia naʻe tataki ʻakinautolu ʻaki ʻae nima toʻomataʻu ʻo Mōsese, ʻaki ʻa hono nima nāunauʻia, ʻo vaheʻi ʻae vai ʻi honau ʻao, ke ngaohi moʻona ha huafa taʻengata?
That caused His glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? That divided the water before them, to make Himself an everlasting name?
13 ʻAia naʻe tataki ʻakinautolu ʻi he moana, ʻo hangē ko e hoosi ʻi he toafa, koeʻuhi ke ʻoua te nau tūkia?”
That led them through the deep, as a horse in the wilderness, without stumbling?
As the cattle that go down into the valley, the spirit of the LORD caused them to rest; so didst Thou lead Thy people, to make Thyself a glorious name.'
15 ʻAfio hifo mei he langi, pea vakai mei he ʻafioʻanga ʻo hoʻo māʻoniʻoni pea mo ho nāunau: kofaʻā ia hoʻo ʻofa mo hoʻo māfimafi, ʻae ngaue ʻo hoʻo manavaʻofa pea mo hoʻo ngaahi ʻaloʻofa kiate au? Kuo ke taʻofi ia?
Look down from heaven, and see, even from Thy holy and glorious habitation; Where is Thy zeal and Thy mighty acts, the yearning of Thy heart and Thy compassions, now restrained toward me?
16 Ko e moʻoni ko ʻemau tamai koe, neongo ʻoku taʻeʻilo ʻakimautolu ʻe ʻEpalahame, pea taʻetokangaʻi ʻakimautolu ʻe ʻIsileli: ko koe, ʻE Sihova, ko ʻemau tamai, ko homau huhuʻi; talu mei muʻa ʻoku taʻetupu ʻa ho huafa.
For Thou art our Father; for Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us; Thou, O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer from everlasting is Thy name.
17 ʻE Sihova, ko e hā kuo ke tuku ai ʻakimautolu ke mau hē mei ho ngaahi hala, pea fakafefeka homau loto ke ʻoua te mau manavahē kiate koe? Toe tafoki mai koeʻuhi ko hoʻo kau tamaioʻeiki, ko e ngaahi faʻahinga ʻo ho tofiʻa.
O LORD, why dost Thou make us to err from Thy ways, and hardenest our heart from Thy fear? Return for Thy servants' sake, the tribes of Thine inheritance.
18 Kuo maʻu fuonounou pe ia ʻe he kakai ʻa hoʻo māʻoniʻoni: kuo molomoloki ʻe homau ngaahi fili ʻa ho fale tapu.
Thy holy people they have well nigh driven out, our adversaries have trodden down Thy sanctuary.
19 ʻOku ʻaʻau ʻakimautolu: naʻe ʻikai ʻaupito te ke puleʻi ʻakinautolu; naʻe ʻikai ui ʻaki ʻakinautolu ʻa ho huafa.
We are become as they over whom Thou never borest rule, as they that were not called by Thy name.
