< ʻIsaia 61 >
1 ʻOku ʻiate au ʻae Laumālie ʻoe ʻEiki ko Sihova; koeʻuhi kuo fakanofo au ʻe Sihova ke u malangaʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei ki he angamalū; kuo ne fekau au ke nonoʻo ʻae loto mafesi, ke fakahā ʻae tauʻatāina ki he kau pōpula, pea ke fakaava ʻae fale fakapōpula kiate kinautolu kuo haʻisia;
The Spirit of the Lord Eternal is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to announce good tidings unto the meek: he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim to captives Liberty, and to prisoners Release;
2 Ke fakahā ʻae taʻu lelei ʻo Sihova, pea ko e ʻaho ʻoe houhau ʻo hotau ʻOtua; ke fakafiemālieʻi ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku mamahi;
To proclaim a year of favor of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all mourners;
3 Ke ʻatu ʻae fiefia kiate kinautolu ʻoku mamahi ʻi Saione, ke ʻatu kiate kinautolu ʻae hoihoifua ko e fetongi ʻoe efuefu, ʻae lolo ʻoe fiefia ko e fetongi ʻoe mamahi, ʻae kofu ʻoe fakamālō ko e fetongi ʻoe laumālie kuo mafesi; ke ui ʻakinautolu ko e ngaahi ʻakau ʻoe māʻoniʻoni, naʻe tō ʻe Sihova, koeʻuhi ke ongoongolelei ai ia.
To grant unto the mourners of Zion, —to give unto them ornament in the place of ashes, oil of gladness in the place of mourning, garments of praise in the place of a grieved spirit; that they may be called, Oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
And they shall build up the ancient ruins, desolate places of former times shall they raise up, and they shall renew ruined cities, the desolate places of many generations.
5 Pea ʻe tuʻu ʻae kau muli ʻo fafanga hoʻomou fanga manu, pea ʻe hoko ʻae fānau ʻae muli ko hoʻomou kau tangata ngoue mo hoʻomou kau tauhi vaine.
And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your ploughmen and your vintners.
6 Ka e fakahingoa ʻakimoutolu ko e ngaahi Taulaʻeiki ʻa Sihova: ʻe ui ʻakimoutolu ʻe he kakai ko e kau Faifekau ʻa hotau ʻOtua: te mou kai ʻae koloa ʻae kakai Senitaile, pea ʻi heʻenau ongoongolelei ʻe polepole ai ʻakimoutolu.
But ye, ye shall be called, Priests of the Lord; Ministers of our God, shall be said unto you: the wealth of nations shall ye consume, and in their glory shall ye be placed as possessors.
7 Koeʻuhi ko hoʻomou mā te mou maʻu ʻae totongi ke liunga ua, pea ʻe fetongi ʻaki hoʻomou fakamaaʻi ʻae fiefia ʻi honau tofiʻa; he te mou maʻu ke liunga ua hake ʻae tofiʻa ʻi honau fonua pea temou fiefia ai ʻo taʻengata.
In the place of your twofold shame, —and the confusion of which they loudly complained as their portion: therefore in their land shall they possess a twofold [portion]; everlasting joy shall be granted unto them.
8 “He ko au ko Sihova ʻoku ou ʻofa ki he fakamaau, ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki he kaihaʻa ke feilaulau tutu ʻaki; pea te u fakahinohino ʻenau ngāue ʻi he moʻoni, pea te u fai ʻae fuakava taʻengata mo kinautolu.
For I the Lord love justice, I hate robbery with burnt-offering: therefore will I give them the recompense of their work in truth, and an everlasting covenant will I make with them.
9 Pea ʻe ʻilo honau hako ʻe he kakai Senitaile, pea mo ʻenau fānau ʻi he kakai: ko kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku mamata kiate kinautolu, te nau fakahā ʻakinautolu ko e hako kuo tāpuakiʻi ʻe Sihova.”
And among the nations shall their seed be known, and their offspring in the midst of the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed whom the Lord hath blessed.
10 Te u fiefia lahi ʻia Sihova, ʻe nekeneka hoku laumālie ʻi hoku ʻOtua: he kuo ne fakakofuʻaki au ʻae kofu ʻoe fakamoʻui, kuo ne ʻufiʻufi ʻaki au ʻae kofu tōtōlofa ʻoe māʻoniʻoni, ʻo hangē ko e tangata taʻane ʻoku teuʻi ʻaki ia ʻae ngaahi meʻa teunga, pea hangē ʻoku teuʻi ʻaki ʻe he taʻahine fakamaʻu hono ngaahi maka koloa.
I will be greatly glad in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, with the mantle of righteousness hath he enveloped me, as a bridegroom decketh himself with elegant attire, and as a bride adorneth herself with her bridal array.
11 ʻO hangē ʻoku tupu mei he kelekele hono moto, pea mo e ngoue ʻoku ne fakatupu hake ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻoku tūtuuʻi ki ai; ʻe pehē, ʻe pule ʻe he ʻEiki ko Sihova ke tupu hake ʻae māʻoniʻoni mo e fakamālō ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē.
For, as the earth bringeth forth her growth, and as a garden causeth what is sown therein to spring forth: thus will the Lord Eternal cause righteousness and praise to spring forth in the presence of all the nations.
