< ʻIsaia 4 >

1 Pea ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻe puke ʻe he fefine ʻe toko fitu ki he tangata ʻe tokotaha, ʻonau pehē, “Te mau kai ʻemau mā ʻamautolu, pea kofuʻaki homau ngaahi kofu: kae kehe ke ui ʻakimautolu ʻi ho hingoa, pea toʻo atu ai homau manukia.”
And seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own raiment: only let thy name be called upon us, [and] take away our reproach.
2 ‌ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe toulekeleka mo ongoongolelei ʻae vaʻa ʻo Sihova, pea ʻe lelei lahi mo matamatalelei ʻae fua ʻoe fonua kiate kinautolu kuo hao ʻi ʻIsileli,
And in that day God shall shine gloriously in counsel on the earth, to exalt and glorify the remnant of Israel.
3 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, ko ia kuo toe ʻi Saione, pea mo ia ʻoku nofo ʻi Selūsalema, ʻe ui ia ko e māʻoniʻoni, ʻio, ko kinautolu kotoa pē kuo tohi ʻi he kakai moʻui ʻo Selūsalema:
And it shall be, [that] the remnant left in Sion, and the remnant left in Jerusalem, [even] all that are appointed to life in Jerusalem, shall be called holy.
4 ‌ʻOka hili ʻae fufulu ʻe Sihova ʻae ʻuli ʻoe ngaahi ʻofefine ʻo Saione, pea hili ʻene fakamaʻa ʻae toto ʻo Selūsalema mei he lotolotonga ʻo ia, ʻaki ʻae laumālie ʻoe fakamaau, pea mo e laumālie ʻoe vela.
For the Lord shall wash away the filth of the sons and daughters of Sion, and shall purge out the blood from the midst of them, with the spirit of judgment, and the spirit of burning.
5 Pea ʻe fakatupu ʻe Sihova ʻi he nofoʻanga kotoa pē ʻoe moʻunga ko Saione, pea ki hono ngaahi fakataha, ʻae ʻao mo e ʻohuafi ʻi he ʻaho, pea mo e maama ʻoe afi ulo ʻi he pō: pea ʻe fakamalu ʻaki ʻae nāunau ʻae meʻa kotoa pē.
And he shall come, and it shall be with regard to every place of mount Sion, yea, all the region round about it shall a cloud overshadow by day, and [there shall be] as it were the smoke and light of fire burning by night: and upon all the glory shall be a defence.
6 Pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻae fale ko e malumaluʻanga ʻi he ʻaho mei he pupuha, pea ko e potu hūfanga, pea ko e maluʻanga mei he afā mo e ʻuha.
And it shall be for a shadow from the heat, and as a shelter and a hiding place from inclemency [of weather] and from rain.
