ʻIsaia 23
1 Ko e tala mamafa ʻoku kau ki Taia. Tangi, ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi vaka ʻo Tasisi; he kuo liʻaki ia, ko ia ʻoku ʻikai ai ha fale, pe ha hū ki loto: ʻoku fakahā ia kiate kinautolu mei he fonua ko Kitimi.
The burden of Tyrus. Howle, yee shippes of Tarshish: for it is destroied, so that there is none house: none shall come from the lande of Chittim: it is reueiled vnto them.
2 Mou fakalongo pe, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kakai ʻoe motu; ʻa koe kuo fakamaʻumeʻaʻi ʻe he kakai fakatau ʻo Saitoni, ʻakinautolu ʻoku faʻa folau ʻi he tahi.
Be still, yee that dwell in the yles: the marchantes of Zidon, and such as passe ouer the sea, haue replenished thee.
3 Ko ʻene koloa ko e tupu ʻoe tenga ʻi Sihoa ʻi he veʻe vai lahi, mo e ututaʻu mei he vaitafe; pea ko e fakatauʻanga ia ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga.
The seede of Nilus growing by the abundance of waters, and the haruest of the riuer was her reuenues, and she was a marte of the nations.
4 Ke mā ʻa koe, ʻE Saitoni: he kuo lea ʻae tahi, ʻio, ʻae mālohi ʻoe tahi, ʻo pehē, “ʻOku ʻikai te u langa, pe fanauʻi ʻae fānau, pea ʻoku ʻikai te u tauhi ha kau talavou, pe akonakiʻi ha kau taʻahine.”
Be ashamed, thou Zidon: for the sea hath spoken, euen the strength of the sea, saying, I haue not trauailed, nor brought forth children, neither nourished yong men, nor brought vp virgins.
5 ʻO hangē ko e ongoongo naʻe kau ki ʻIsipite, ʻe pehē ʻenau mamahi lahi ʻi he ongoongo ʻo Taia.
When the fame commeth to the Egyptians, they shall be sorie, concerning the rumour of Tyrus.
6 ʻAlu hake ʻakimoutolu ki Tasisi; tangilāulau, ʻakimoutolu ko e kakai ʻoe motu.
Goe you ouer to Tarshish: howle, yee that dwell in the yles.
7 Ko hoʻomou [kolo ]fakafiefia ʻa eni, ʻaia naʻe tuʻu ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa? Ko hono vaʻe ʻoʻona te ne ʻave ia ki he mamaʻo ke ʻāunofo ai.
Is not this that your glorious citie? her antiquitie is of ancient daies: her owne feete shall leade her afarre off to be a soiourner.
8 Ko hai kuo ne tuʻutuʻuni ʻae meʻa ni ki Taia, ko e kolo naʻe faʻa fakanofo ʻae ngaahi pule, ko hono kakai fakatau ko e houʻeiki, pea ko kinautolu ʻoku fefakatauʻaki ʻi ai ko e kau ongoongo ʻi māmani?
Who hath decreed this against Tyrus (that crowneth men) whose marchantes are princes? whose chapmen are the nobles of the worlde?
9 Ko Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau kuo ne tuʻutuʻuni ki ai, ke fakamā ʻae laukau ʻoe nāunau kotoa pē, pea ke fakamatavaleaʻi ʻae kakai ongoongo kotoa pē ʻo māmani.
The Lord of hostes hath decreed this, to staine the pride of all glorie, and to bring to contempt all them that be glorious in the earth.
10 ʻE ʻofefine ʻo Tasisi, ke ke ʻalu ʻi ho fonua ʻo hangē ha vaitafe kuo maumauʻi hono kauvai.
Passe through thy lande like a flood to the daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength.
11 Naʻa ne mafao hono nima ʻi he tahi, naʻa ne lulululu ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga: kuo tuku mai ʻe Sihova ha fekau ʻoku kau ki he kolo fakatau, ke maumauʻi hono ngaahi potu mālohi.
He stretched out his hand vpon the sea: he shooke the kingdomes: the Lord hath giuen a commandement concerning the place of marchandise, to destroy the power thereof.
12 Pea naʻa ne pehē, ʻE ʻikai te ke toe fiefia, ʻa koe ko e taʻahine kuo taʻomia, ʻae ʻofefine ʻo Saitoni: ke ke tuʻu hake, ʻalu atu ki Kitimi; pea naʻa mo ia ʻe ʻikai te ke maʻu ʻi ai ha mālōlō.
And he saide, Thou shalt no more reioyce when thou art oppressed: O virgin daughter of Zidon: rise vp, goe ouer vnto Chittim: yet there thou shalt haue no rest.
13 Vakai ki he fonua ʻoe kakai ʻo Kalitia; naʻe ʻikai ko ha kakai ʻakinautolu, ka ʻi heʻene toki langaʻi ia maʻanautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he toafa ʻe he kakai ʻo ʻAsilia: ko kinautolu ia naʻa nau fokotuʻu hono ngaahi fale leʻo, mo nau langa hake hono ngaahi fale fakaʻeiʻeiki; ka naʻa ne ʻomi ia ki he fakaʻauha.
Behold the lande of the Caldeans: this was no people: Asshur founded it by the inhabitantes of the wildernesse: they set vp the towers thereof: they raised the palaces thereof and hee brought it to ruine.
14 Tangi, ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi vaka ʻo Tasisi: he kuo maumauʻi ho potu mālohi.
Howle yee shippes of Tarshish, for your strength is destroyed.
15 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻe fakangalo ʻa Taia ʻi he taʻu ʻe fitungofulu, ʻo hangē ko e ngaahi ʻaho ʻo ha tuʻi ʻe taha: pea hili ʻae taʻu ʻe fitungofulu ʻe hiva ʻa Taia ʻo hangē ko e fefine angahala.
And in that day shall Tyrus bee forgotten seuentie yeeres, (according to the yeeres of one King) at the ende of seuentie yeeres shall Tyrus sing as an harlot.
16 Toʻo ha haʻape mo ke feʻaluʻaki ʻi he kolo, ʻa koe ko e fefine angahala naʻe fakangalo hifo; tā ʻae meʻa tā ke ongo mālie, hiva ʻaki ʻae ngaahi hiva lahi, koeʻuhi ke fakamanatuʻi koe.
Take an harpe and go about the citie: (thou harlot thou hast beene forgotten) make sweete melodie, sing moe songes that thou maiest be remembred.
17 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē hili ʻae taʻu ʻe fitungofulu, ʻe ʻaʻahi ʻa Sihova ki Taia, pea ʻe foki ia ki heʻene totongi, pea te ne fai hala mo e ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻo māmani ʻoku ʻi he funga ʻoe kelekele.
And at the ende of seuentie yeres shall the Lord visite Tyrus, and shee shall returne to her wages, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdomes of the earth, that are in the world.
18 Ka ko ʻene koloa mo ia ʻoku ne maʻu ʻe fakatapui maʻa Sihova: ʻe ʻikai tānaki pe fakamaʻopoʻopo ia; he ko ʻene koloa ʻe ʻanautolu ia ʻoku nofo ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova, ke mahu ʻae kai, pea tolonga ʻae kofu.
Yet her occupying and her wages shall bee holy vnto the Lord: it shall not be laied vp nor kept in store, but her marchandise shalbe for them that dwell before the Lord, to eate sufficiently, and to haue durable clothing.
