< ʻIsaia 19 >

1 Ko e tala mamafa ʻoku kau ki ʻIsipite. Vakai, ʻoku heka ʻa Sihova ʻi he ʻao ngaholo, ʻo hāʻele ki ʻIsipite: pea ʻe tetetete ʻae ngaahi tamapua ʻo ʻIsipite ʻi hono ʻao, pea ʻe vaivai ʻae loto ʻo ʻIsipite ʻi loto ʻiate ia.
The doom of Egypt. Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and is coming to Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved because of his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in its inward parts.
2 Pea te u fakafehiʻa ʻae kakai ʻIsipite ki he kakai ʻIsipite: pea ʻe tau ʻae tangata taki taha kotoa pē ki hono tokoua, pea taki taha ki hono kaungāʻapi; ʻae kolo ki he kolo, mo e puleʻanga ki he puleʻanga.
And I will stir up Egyptians against Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his fellow; city against city, kingdom against kingdom.
3 Pea ʻe vaivai ʻae laumālie ʻo ʻIsipite ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo ia; pea te u maumauʻi ʻae fakakaukau ʻaʻana: pea te nau kumi ki he ngaahi tamapua, pea ki he kau fiemana, pea kiate kinautolu ʻoku ai ʻae ngaahi laumālie kovi, pea ki he kau kikite.
And the spirit of Egypt shall be emptied out in its inward parts, and its counsel will I frustrate; and they will inquire of the idols, and of the charmers, and of those that have familiar spirits, and of the wizards.
4 Pea ʻoku pehē ʻe he ʻEiki, ko Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, Te u tuku atu ʻae kakai ʻo ʻIsipite ki he nima ʻo ha ʻeiki ʻoku fakamamahi; pea ʻe puleʻi ʻakinautolu ʻe ha tuʻi ʻoku fai mālohi.
And I will surrender the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord; and a rigorous king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Eternal of hosts.
5 Pea ʻe maha ʻae ngaahi vai mei he tahi, pea ʻe fakaʻaʻau ke mōmoa ʻae vaitafe.
And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.
6 Pea te nau fakanamukūʻi ʻae ngaahi vaitafe; pea ko e ngaahi vai ʻoku mou faʻaki ki ai ʻe fakamaha pea ʻe mōmoa: ʻe mae ʻae ngaahi kaho mo e falaki.
And the rivers shall become foul; and shallow and dried up shall become the deep streams: reeds and flags shall wither.
7 Ko e ngoue ʻi he veʻe vai, ʻi he ngutu ʻoe ngaahi vai, pea mo e ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku tūtuuʻi ʻi he veʻe vai, ʻe mae, ʻe mole, pea ʻikai.
The well-rooted plants by the stream, by the mouth of the stream, and every thing sown by the stream, shall dry up, be scattered [by the wind, ] and be no more.
8 ‌ʻE mamahi foki ʻae kau toutai ika, pea ʻe lāunga mo kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku taumātaʻu ʻi he ngaahi vai, pea ʻe vaivai mo kinautolu ʻoku lafo kupenga ki he ngaahi vai.
The fishermen also shall lament, and all they that cast an angle into the stream shall mourn; and they that spread nets upon the face of the waters shall languish.
9 Pea ko kinautolu foki ʻoku ngaohi ʻae tupenu lelei, pea mo kinautolu ʻoku lalanga ʻae tupenu vavanga, ʻe fakaʻaʻau ke vaivai.
And ashamed shall be they that work in fine flax, and they that weave white cloth.
10 Pea ʻe maumauʻi ʻae ngaahi tuʻutuʻuni ʻokinautolu ʻoku ngaohi ʻae ngaahi matapā mo e anovai ki he ika.
And its foundations shall be beaten down, all that build sluices shall be grieved in soul.
11 Ko e moʻoni ko e kau vale ʻae houʻeiki ʻo Soani, ko e fakakaukau ʻoe kau poto ʻo Felo kuo hoko ia ko e fakakaukau vale: ko e hā ʻoku mou pehē ai kia Felo, Ko au ko e foha ʻoe poto, ko e hako ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi ʻi muʻa?
Surely fools are the princes of Zo'an! the wise of the counsellors of Pharaoh [impart] silly counsel: how can ye say unto Pharaoh, I am a son of the wise, a son of the ancient kings?
12 ‌ʻOku ʻi fē ʻakinautolu? ʻOku ʻi fē hoʻo kau tangata poto? Tuku ke nau fakahā atu ni kiate koe, pea tuku ke nau ʻilo pe ko e hā ʻae finangalo ʻo Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau ki ʻIsipite,
Where are they, these, thy wise men? that they may tell thee now, that they know what the Lord of hosts hath resolved on over Egypt.
13 Kuo hoko ʻo vale ʻae houʻeiki ʻo Soani, kuo kākaaʻi ʻae houʻeiki ʻo Nofi; pea kuo nau fakahala ʻa ʻIsipite ʻae mālohiʻanga ʻo hono ngaahi faʻahinga.
The princes of Zo'an are become fools, deceived are the princes of Noph; and Egypt is led astray by the chiefs of its tribes.
14 Kuo tuku ʻe Sihova ki honau lotolotonga ha laumālie talangataʻa: pea kuo nau fakahalaʻi ʻa ʻIsipite ʻi heʻene ngaahi ngāue kotoa pē, ʻo hangē ko e tasipa ʻae tangata konā ʻi heʻene lua.
The Lord hath poured out in the midst thereof a spirit of perverseness: and they have led Egypt astray in all its work, as a drunkard reeleth astray in his vomit.
15 Pea ʻe ʻikai ha ngāue ki ʻIsipite, ʻe faʻa fai ʻe he ʻulu pe ko e iku, ʻe he vaʻa pe ko e tefito.
And there shall not be for Egypt [successful] work, which the head or tail, palm-branch or rush, may do.
16 ‌ʻE tatau ʻa ʻIsipite ʻi he ʻaho ko ia mo e kau fefine: pea ʻe tetetete mo manavahē ia koeʻuhi ko e lulululu ʻoe nima ʻo Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻaia te ne lulululu kiate kinautolu.
On that day shall Egypt be like the women: and it shall tremble and be in dread because of the waving of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he waveth over it.
17 Pea ʻe hoko ʻae fonua ko Siuta ko e ilifiaʻanga ki ʻIsipite, pea ko kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku lea ki ai ʻe tetetete, koeʻuhi ko e tuʻutuʻuni ʻa Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻaia kuo ne fakakaukau ki ai.
And the land of Judah shall become unto Egypt a terror, every one that maketh mention thereof shall be in dread, because of the counsel of the Lord of hosts, which he hath resolved against it.
18 ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe lea ʻaki ʻae lea fakaKēnani ʻe he kolo ʻe nima ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite, pea te nau fuakava kia Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; pea ʻe ui ʻae kolo ʻe taha, “Ko e kolo ʻoe fakaʻauha.”
On that day shall be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan, and swearing by the Lord of hosts; “The city of destruction” shall one be called.
19 ‌ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe ʻai ʻae feilaulauʻanga kia Sihova ʻi he loto fonua ʻo ʻIsipite, pea mo ha pou kia Sihova ʻi hono ngataʻanga.
On that day shall there be all altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at its border to the Lord.
20 Pea ʻe hoko ia ko e fakaʻilonga pea ko e fakamoʻoni kia Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau ʻi he fonua ko ʻIsipite: he te nau tangi kia Sihova koeʻuhi ko e kau fakamālohi, pea te ne fekau kiate kinautolu ha fakamoʻui, ko e tokotaha ʻoku lahi, pea te ne fakamoʻui ʻakinautolu.
And it shall be for a sign and for a testimony unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he will send them a helper, and a chief, and he shall deliver them.
21 Pea ʻe ʻiloʻi ʻa Sihova ʻe ʻIsipite, pea ʻe ʻilo ʻe he kakai ʻIsipite ʻa Sihova ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, pea te nau fai ʻae feilaulau mo e foaki; ʻio, te nau fuakava ʻaki ha fuakava kia Sihova, pea fai ki ai.
And the Lord will be made known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall know the Lord on that day, and will do service [with] sacrifice and oblation; yea, they will make vows unto the Lord and perform [them].
And the Lord will thus strike Egypt, striking and healing it: and they will return unto the Lord, and he will be entreated of them, and heal them.
On that day there shall be a highway out of Egypt to Asshur, and Asshur shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptians into Asshur, and the Egyptians shall serve with Asshur [the Lord].
24 ‌ʻI he ʻaho ko ia ʻe lau ko hono toko tolu ʻa ʻIsileli fakataha mo ʻIsipite mo ʻAsilia, ʻio, ko e tāpuaki ʻi he loto fonua:
On that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Asshur, a blessing in the midst of the earth.
25 ‌ʻAia ʻe tāpuaki ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻo pehē, ‘Ke monūʻia ʻa ʻIsipite ko hoku kakai, pea mo ʻAsilia ko e ngāue ʻa hoku nima, pea mo ʻIsileli ko hoku tofiʻa.’”
Whom the Lord of hosts will have blessed, saying, Blessed be my people Egypt, and Asshur the work of my hands, and my heritage Israel.
