< ʻIsaia 15 >

1 Ko e tala mamafa ʻoku kau ki Moape. Koeʻuhi kuo fakaʻauha ʻa ʻAla-Moape ʻi he pō, pea fakalongo pē ia; koeʻuhi kuo fakaʻauha ʻa Kili Moape ʻi he pō, pea fakalongo pē ia;
The burden of Moab. Because in a night destroyed was Ar of Moab — It hath been cut off, Because in a night destroyed was Kir of Moab — It hath been cut off.
2 Kuo ʻalu ia ki Pasiti, pea ki Tiponi, ko e ngaahi potu māʻolunga, ke tangi: ʻE tangilāulau ʻa Moape kia Nipo, pea kia Mitipa: ʻe tula honau ʻulu kotoa pē, pea ʻe kosi ʻae kava kotoa pē.
He hath gone up to Bajith and Dibon, The high places — to weep, On Nebo and on Medeba Moab howleth, On all its heads [is] baldness, every beard cut off.
3 Te nau nonoʻo ʻaki ʻae tauangaʻa ʻi honau ngaahi hala: pea tangilāulau kotoa pē, pea tangi lahi ʻi honau tuʻa fale, pea ʻi honau ngaahi hala.
In its out-places they girded on sackcloth, On its pinnacles, and in its broad places, Every one howleth — going down with weeping.
4 Pea ʻe tangi ʻa Hesiponi, mo ʻIliale: ʻe ongoʻi honau leʻo ʻo aʻu ki Sehasi: ko ia ʻe kalanga ai ʻae kautau toʻo mahafu ʻo Moape; ʻe mamahi ai ia ʻi heʻene moʻui.
And cry doth Heshbon and Elealeh, Unto Jahaz heard hath been their voice, Therefore the armed ones of Moab do shout, His life hath been grievous to him.
5 ‌ʻE tangi hoku loto koeʻuhi ko Moape; ʻe ʻalu ki Soa ʻene kau hola, ʻo hangē ha pulu kuo tolu taʻu: ʻoku nau tangi ʻi heʻenau ʻalu hake ki Luhiti; ʻio, ʻi he hala ʻo Holonaimi te nau kalanga ʻaki ʻae tangi ʻoe fakaʻauha.
My heart [is] toward Moab, Cry do her fugitives unto Zoar, a heifer of the third [year], For — the ascent of Luhith — With weeping he goeth up in it, For, in the way of Horonaim, A cry of destruction they wake up.
6 Koeʻuhi ʻe lala ʻae ngaahi vai ʻo Nimilimi: he kuo mae ʻae mohuku mōmoa, pea kuo ʻikai ʻae mohuku mata, pea ʻoku ʻikai ha meʻa lau maʻuiʻui.
For, the waters of Nimrim are desolations, For, withered hath been the hay, Finished hath been the tender grass, A green thing there hath not been.
7 Ko ia ko e koloa lahi kuo nau maʻu, pea mo ia kuo nau tānaki, te nau ʻave ki he vaitafe ʻoe ngaahi uilou.
Therefore the abundance he made, and their store, Unto the brook of the willows they carry.
8 He kuo takatakai ʻe he tangi ʻae ngataʻanga ʻo Moape; kuo aʻu ʻene kalanga ki Ekelemi, pea mo e tangilāulau ʻo ia ki Pealimi.
For gone round hath the cry the border of Moab, Unto Eglaim [is] its howling, And to Beer-Elim [is] its howling.
9 ‌ʻE fonu ʻae ngaahi vai ʻo Timoni ʻi he toto: he te u toe ʻomi ʻae kovi ki Timoni, ʻae fanga laione kiate ia ʻoku hao ʻi Moape, pea ki hono toe ʻoe fonua.
For the waters of Dimon have been full of blood, For I set on Dimon additions, For the escaped of Moab a lion, And for the remnant of Adamah!
