< ʻIsaia 11 >

1 Pea ʻe tupu hake ha tokotoko mei he tefito ʻo Sese, pea ʻe tupu ha Vaʻa mei hono ngaahi aka:
A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.
2 Pea ʻe nofo ʻiate ia ʻae Laumālie ʻo Sihova, ʻae laumālie ʻoe poto mo e faʻa ʻilo, ʻae laumālie ʻoe akonaki mo e mālohi, ʻae laumālie ʻoe ʻilo pea mo e manavahē kia Sihova;
The LORD’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.
3 Pea ʻe ʻilo vave ʻe ia ʻae manavahē kia Sihova: pea ʻe ʻikai te ne fakamaau ʻi he vakai ʻa hono fofonga, pe valoki ʻo hangē ko e fanongo ʻa hono telinga:
His delight will be in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;
4 Ka ʻi he māʻoniʻoni te ne fakamaau ʻae masiva, pea valoki ʻi he taʻefilifilimānako maʻa e angavaivai ʻoe fonua: pea te ne taaʻi ʻa māmani ʻaki ʻae meʻa tā ʻo hono fofonga, pea te ne tāmate ʻae angakovi ʻaki ʻae mānava ʻo hono loungutu.
but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.
5 Pea ko e noʻo ʻo hono kongaloto ʻae māʻoniʻoni, pea ko e nonoʻo ʻo hono noʻotanga vala ʻae moʻoni.
Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist.
The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them.
7 Pea ʻe kai fakataha ʻae pulu fefine mo e pea; pea ʻe tokoto fakataha honau ʻuhiki: pea ʻe kai ʻe he laione ʻae kau ʻoe koane ʻo hangē ko e pulu.
The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 Pea ko e tamasiʻi ʻoku kei huhu te ne vaʻinga ʻi he luo ʻoe ngata, pea ko e tamasiʻi kuo fakamavae te ne ʻai hono nima ki he ʻana ʻoe ngata fekai.
The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
9 ‌ʻE ʻikai te nau fakamamahi pe fakaʻauha ʻi ha potu ʻo hoku moʻunga māʻoniʻoni: koeʻuhi ʻe fonu ʻa māmani ʻi he ʻiloʻi ʻo Sihova, ʻo hangē ʻoku ʻufiʻufi ʻe he ngaahi vai ʻae kilisi tahi.
They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
10 Pea ʻi he ʻaho ko ia ʻe ʻi ai ʻae aka ʻo Sese, ʻaia ʻe tuʻu ko e fuka ʻae kakai: ʻe kumi ki ai ʻae ngaahi Senitaile: pea ʻe lelei ʻaupito ʻa hono mālōlōʻanga.
It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.
11 Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻe toe ai ʻe Sihova hono nima ko hono liunga ua ke fakamoʻui ʻae toenga ʻo hono kakai, ʻaia ʻe fakatoe, mei ʻAsilia, pea mo ʻIsipite, pea mo Patolose, pea mo Kusi, pea mo ʻIlami, pea mei Saina, pea mei Hamate, pea mei he ngaahi motu ʻoe tahi.
It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
13 Pea ʻe mole ʻae meheka meia ʻIfalemi, pea ʻe fakaʻauha mo e ngaahi fili ʻo Siuta: ʻe ʻikai kei fehiʻa ʻa ʻIfalemi kia Siuta, pea ko Siuta ʻe ʻikai te ne fakamamahiʻi ʻa ʻIfalemi.
The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim.
14 Ka te na puna ki he lulunga ʻi he uma ʻoe kakai Filisitia; pea te na faʻao mo e potu hahake: te nau ʻene ai honau nima ki ʻItomi mo Moape; pea ʻe talangofua kiate kinautolu ʻae fānau ʻa ʻAmoni.
They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.
15 Pea ʻe fakaʻauha ʻaupito ʻe Sihova ʻae ʻelelo ʻoe tahi ʻo ʻIsipite; pea te ne lulululu hono nima ki he vaitafe ʻaki ʻene matangi lahi, pea ʻe taaʻi ʻe ia ʻi hono mangaʻivai ʻe fitu, pea ʻe ʻalu taʻeviku ai ʻae kakai.
The LORD will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.
16 Pea ʻe ʻi ai ʻae hala motuʻa ki he toenga ʻo hono kakai, ʻaia ʻe toe ʻi ʻAsilia, ʻo hangē ko ia ne maʻu ʻe ʻIsileli ʻi he ʻaho naʻe ʻalu hake ai ia mei he fonua ko ʻIsipite.
There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
