< Hosea 3 >
1 Hili ia naʻe pehē ʻe Sihova kiate au, “Toe ʻalu, pea ke ʻofa ki ha fefine ʻoku ʻofeina ʻi hono kāinga, ka ko e fefine feʻauaki, ʻo tatau pe mo e ʻofa ʻa Sihova ki he fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, ʻakinautolu ʻoku sio ki he ngaahi ʻotua kehe, pea ʻoku manako ki he ngaahi ipu uaine.”
And the Lord said to me, Go yet, and love a woman that loves evil things, an adulteress, even as the Lord loves the children of Israel, and they have respect to strange gods, and love cakes of dried grapes.
2 Ko ia naʻaku fakatau ia kiate au ʻaki ʻae konga siliva ʻe hongofulu ma nima, mo e homa paʻale, pea mo hono vaeua ʻoe homa paʻale:
So I hired [her] to myself for fifteen [pieces] of silver, and a homer of barley, and a flagon of wine.
3 Pea naʻaku pehē kiate ia, “Te ke nofomaʻu kiate au ʻo ʻaho lahi; ka ʻe ʻikai te ke fai ʻae feʻauaki, pea ʻe ʻikai te ke ʻi ha tangata kehe; pea te u ʻiate koe pe au.”
And I said unto her, Thou shalt wait for me many days; and thou shalt not commit fornication, neither shalt thou be for [another] man; and I [will be] for thee.
4 Koeʻuhi ʻe lahi ʻae ʻaho ʻoe fānau ʻa ʻIsileli taʻehanautuʻi, pea taʻehaʻeiki, pea taʻehafeilaulau, pea taʻehafeilaulauʻanga, pea taʻehaʻefoti, pe ha telafimi.
For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an altar, and without a priesthood, and without manifestations.
5 Hili ia ʻe tafoki ʻae fānau ʻa ʻIsileli, pea te nau kumi kia Sihova ko honau ʻOtua, pea kia Tevita ko honau tuʻi; pea [te nau ]manavahē kia Sihova mo ʻene angalelei ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ki mui.
And afterward shall the children of Israel return, and shall seek the Lord their God, and David their king; and shall be amazed at the Lord and at his goodness in the latter days.
